The food was pretty good but the service started the evening off to such a disappointing start that it was difficult to totally enjoy the meal. Burger was ordered medium and was more medium rare but was still a pretty great burger. Fries appeared very greasy but actually had nice flavor. Salads were fresh and put together very nicely. The house dressing is delish! I am a local and this was my first time here… The burger was good enough to bring me back, I just hope their servers/bartenders get it together before my next trip…

You owe it yourself to have a meal or two here! I had the Frutti Di Mare– Black squid ink fettuccini with perfectly cooked scallops and shrimp, with a delicious garlic, wine and butter sauce. My date had Seared pork tenderloin medallions with cabbage and mashed potatoes. This was also fantastic, and worth having again. Our server Terry was very patient, friendly and professional.

My wife found this place on her phone as we were leaving Put In bay. It was a very nice discovery! From the outside it doesn’t look like much at all, kind of divy actually. But inside is a nice intimate place. The décor is a bit odd with numerous mounted big game heads on the walls. I have to think this is a leftover from the prior establishment. But it still is a cozy place. And once the food comes, you could care less about the the deer heads. We had rock shrimp creole, walleye bites, scallop diablo, Cielo bruschetta, Cielo house salad, and a desert I forget the name of. Everything was great, and unique too. It wasn’t cheap but it certainly was worth what we paid for it. The service was great, very friendly and extremely helpful in making choices. This is out of the way for us but we will be back.

The service in this place is spectacular. My wife and I went in for what we thought would be a few appetizers and some sangria. We started off with the white sangria and light appetizers. Later our children joined us unexpectedly and we decided to have dinner and moved to the red sangria which was absolutely refreshing. They even made a batch of non-alcoholic version for the kids. The food was great, yes it is not as authentic as when we were in Barcelona, but we weren’t in Barcelona but in Port Clinton. So we were very pleased with the selections and flavor. They also made a special vegetarian version for our daughter. All of this was done at close to closing. The server, the staff, no one ever made us feel rushed or hurried. They were accommodating and friendly, making recommendations they knew would cause them to have to be there late. But they were more concerned with us enjoying ourselves than closing time. The desserts were delicious. But the after dinner service was were they kicked it up. I had a taste for some Sambuca to help digest my meal and dessert. They didn’t have any so the bartender grabbed his things headed out the door and 4 to 5 minutes later I was sipping my digestive wrapping up a great family night out with the family. Wonderful relaxed environment, very happy and will return.

Wonderful meal. My daughter and I share the shrimp Creole and scallop small plates followed by the hanger steak cook expertly medium rare. All was excellent with an added bonus of the chef stopping by several times. Maybe an advantage of eating at the bar which my daughter and I like to do. Need a another visits to earn that 5th star to try out Spanish steak and the walleye bites

Enjoyed everything from the menu that we tried from Raspberry Soup, Cranberry Salad, Honey Truffle Wings, to the Crème Brûlée and the sangria. Service was excellent and atmosphere was relaxing. Will definitely return!

so wanted to love this place! no fruit in the sangria(?) never seen that — the sauces on the tapas were just«off flavor» as stated by others, not bad enough to send back because we were hungry but not good enough to make us want to return the manager/owner was so busy telling the table next to us how unfair a review was that she never bothered to come and ask us how our dinner was. We would have told her but she was definitely not interested. What a shame! we love to eat out in Port Clinton/Catawba and do so a lot. We just won’t add this restaurant to the list of many that we will return to

Oh, CG. I so wanted you to be good. You wanted to be good. Why couldn’t you just be good. It would be so nice to have a place in Port Clinton that is not bar food and burgers. But you are just a little off. Not bad, just off. My first clue should have been the atmosphere. Lots of dark wood, ginormous wood bar – nothing wrong with that. Tapas are Spanish bar food, so a bar is entirely appropriate. But deer heads, Buckeyes memorabilia, TVs playing sports, and country music? Not so much. The service was off, too. Friendly, attentive, but just off. The menu says to ask you about the draft beer selection. It’s not that big, only two are local, and you can’t remember which one is an IPA(or if it’s both)? All that really matters, though, is the food. I ordered the Frutti de Mare: shrimp and scallops in a garlic white wine sauce over squid ink linguini. The seafood is cooked well, but the sauce’s only flavor is sour, and the pasta is gummy. Not bad enough for me to send back, but not the least bit enjoyable. I hope you get better, CG, but you are just not there yet.

Who ever likes the food has never been to Spain. It’s mediocre but not bad enough to return. The flavor profile was simply off. Perhaps it was an of night but I won’t return.

Dropped in on our way back to the east coast, wanted some distinctive and fresh food. Food and service was on par with Chicago and D.C. dining, what a great find. Locals here are lucky to have this spot.

We saw an advertisement last weekend for a tapas restaurant in Port Clinton and once we Unilocaled it, we knew we had to check it out. The atmosphere is perfect, dark wood, beautiful bar area and plenty of flat screened TVs if you want to catch a sporting event while sipping on sangria and sharing small plates of food. Loved the sangria and the shrimp creole was delicious. My husband and I shared the paella valenciana and there was plenty for the two of us. I am a paella fan and this recipe did not disappoint!!! For dessert the chef suggested the crème brûlée and I am glad we did not leave without sampling this sweet treat! Overall experience was great. We will definitely return and can’t wait to try some new dishes and have another Sangria!

Chef Edward wonderfully prepared my Creole Rock Shrimp Tapas appetizer and Paella entrée. His addition of cold smoked chorizo to the dish was a tasty surprise. Searing on the bottom of the pan gave the dish the authentic paella flavor I was looking for. I highly recommend this moderately priced hidden gem in Port Clinton.

Cielo Grande is an ambitious venture in an otherwise homogeneous restaurant scene. This alone deserves your patronage! The first thing I noticed in walking up to CG was the mouth-watering smell of charred meats. Free advertising for a restaurant tucked into a narrow storefront on the downtown strip. Inside, CG is covered in dark-paneled wood, flags from around the world, and red-and-yellow décor — you would never guess you’re essentially in a strip mall. Tapas are meant to be shared, and are a great way to eat around the whole menu without breaking the bank or your belt. Our shrimp was in a delicious creamy, spicy sauce that made my lips tingle. The vegetarian offerings are not to be scoffed at, as they’re perfectly cooked and accompanied by complimentary spices and sauces. I loved the impossibly juicy lamb chops, sweet and salty with the demi-glaze and sweet potato purée. Our server was sweet and staggered our dishes appropriately, tending to us often by clearing our parade of plates and refilling our drinks. Just a few things — meat temperature, a dash of salt, a riper strawberry in the white sangria — will make CG into a five-star review. If it were in my home town, I’d be back at least once a week to check on their progress.

Excellent atmosphere, service and food! Thai chicken wasn’t on the new menu, but we had the zucchini rellenas(yum!), flat iron steak, Bloody Mary oyster shooters(oyster size was huge!), tostada y pollo was filling and flavorful/fresh, seta rellenas, lobster bisque was great and the salads were nutritious and had crisp varieties of lettuce… one suggestion? The restaurant should add a little more citrus to their sangria, I liked that it wasn’t overly sweet like some sangria though. My family will come back!

Went there last night to try out the new menu. Everything we had was delicious. My husband and I stuck with the small plate menu, although there looked to be some great entrees as well. Of the small plates that we tried, our favorite was the lamb chops and oyster shooters. Both were great and I thought worth the cost. All the prices seemed great for the quality of food they were serving. Only negative would be the loud music they were playing. Didn’t seem to go with the overall atmosphere of the place. Will definitely go back.

This place is wonderful. It’s finally a different change from the normal bar fare offered in town. Absolutely worth the drive from any town in the area. High quality food. Ambience is great. Service was wonderful. So happy that this place opened and it’s owned operated by local folks who want to do great things for the community and they know what they are doing. For local PCers, be open-minded to something different. This is something special. Churros for dessert with liquid chocolate is amazing!!!

We had a pleasant evening visiting friends at this lovely addition to Port Clinton’s downtown. Tapas menu looked good, as did the meal items and salads. We were there late evening, meeting for drinks. Their house-made sangria was wonderful. It was cozy, with good acoustics for conversation.

A new little gem, tucked in small cozy space in downtown Port Clinton. Extensive wine list and varietal specialty drink menu. Try the house made sangria. Excellent selection of small and large plates ranging from seafood to familiar American fare to dishes with an oriental flare. Also featured are numerous daily specials not on the menu.
