The food and everything is good. The only thing that bothered me is that the train kept going by and it made it very difficult to speak with the other people at my table. They make great beer. I would definitely recommend going just for their beer. But if you are looking for good food and nice service this is the place to go!

My family and I went to the Beer Garden this past Saturday to celebrate our Grandfather’s birthday. It was party of 6 adults and one child. We all ordered from the menu which was pretty simple, nothing special and the food came fairly quickly(about 15 mins). The only problem is that they completely forgot one of our group member’s meal completely! The waiter kept saying we’re going to check but nothing ever came out. It wasn’t until the final check was delivered that they explained to us that they didn’t have what she ordered in stock(po’ boi tacos). They should have delivered this message at the very beginning when she might have had a chance to order a replacement. The manager didn’t come to our table and apologize for the error, we had to go and seek him after we paid. The atmosphere and waitstaff were OK, the food was nothing special a little on the bland side, the beer selection was quite small, but decent. Overall an OK experience not very memorable or satisfying since one person in our group left without eating.

So this is my 3rd time here, and I really should’ve known better to skip this place. First time I went there, I called to confirm hours of service, the hostess sounded either brand new(which she could have stated on the phone and confirmed the hours with another staff member), or she just doesn’t care to be employed. And we still enjoyed our meal but, ehhh I think it could’ve been better. Second visit, not sure why the wait-staff insists on being forgetful of orders and basically lacking in customer service etiquette to recoop their mistakes but we got the sense that they were either inexperienced in waiting tables or were only there to do there shift as quickly as possible. However, this past weekend was the last cut for us. My husband and I went(again) but s a group of 20+ for a party reservation at 8pm. Which was called and reserved weeks in advance, and even confirmed the day of, only to arrive to find out that the place closes COMPLETELY at 9pm. And by completely, I mean they shut down the kitchen and bar at 9pm. So the hostess(possibly the same one as my first call in not sure) insisted that our reservations were set and still failed to inform us that we could only enjoy 1 hour of our party reservation. And while we ensued our discovery upon arrival, we found most insulting was that the waiter offered to have the manager to come over because we looked«pissed» in his words. Bravo! great way to redeem the reputation of your business! We walked out and informed all our other guests that were on their way to turn the corner to another venue that was more than happy to accommodate us and our delicious tab!

Came in out of a spontaneous suggestion. Nothing was too special, the beers I had tried [pilsner(5%) & imperial saison(8%)] were ok but nothing memorable, I would have rather had a non house beer, and compromised with a cocktail. Friend’s silverware were dirty, and food was average. Mmm… If you were hungry on your commute and your train stops by Port Chester, getting the wings wouldn’t be a half bad idea.

We’ve been excited to try this place ever since the renovation turned the train station into a beer hall and we finally went for Saturday lunch. The cavernous place was pretty empty, just us and one guy alone at another table. Lots of unusual beers on the menu and the waitress asked my husband if he’d like to taste test two before ordering. Food was good. Instead of croutons on the salad it was a piece of toast which was kind of odd. Prices seem steep because of drinks — we had a Caesar salad and a burger, one beer and two cocktails and the bill was $ 70! Service was friendly and the space is definitely unique.

I love drinking outside, on a hot sunny day, all… fuckin…day. These beer halls afford me this possibility of being drunk whilst sportin stunna shades. Port Chester Hall, located in this ghetto-turning-into-bourgeois area, is a perfect day-drinking venue. Pretty chill in between the 2 pm — 6 pm time period. But… come 6:01 pm, it gets mad hectic. Chicks in fancy dresses, from CT, convene at the bar and tear up this joint. And of course, the $$$ dudes rockin Rolex wrist bling follow them into this place. Fun and yet, annoying. I’ll be back, if I’m looking for a CT sugar mama.

Good for beer and apps at a work event. Cool atmosphere outside, too. –1 star because the train noise can be a bit much at rush hour.

Great Atmosphere, Great Drinks + Apps! Atmosphere: Port Chester hall is right behind the Port Chester train station in an awesome old train stop. They had ample FREE parking, which is a huge plus for me and have both a large indoor space that has a great old world atmosphere and an huge outdoor beer garden space. The music selection was on point as well, although it would be nice to see live music there in the future(HINTHINT). I could see this bar working well for a date night or hanging out with friends. It’s upscale enough while still being casual and unpretentious. Beers/Drinks: Beers come in three sizes, they have a large selection of house brews that are brewed on site in their Brooklyn brewery. I’m not a huge beer drinker but I enjoyed what I ordered and my husband liked his beers as well. They also have a small selection of cocktails, I tried the Casablanca($ 9) and it was very good and also very strong! The prices were reasonable enough, or on par with other places that I go to. TIP: They apparently have happy hour with half priced drinks from 4−7pm most evenings so it might be worth checking out if you want to save a few dollars. Food: Disclaimer here, I didn’t actually try any of the meals as we only ate an appetizer but the Giant Pretzel we had was delicious and super fun to take selfies with haha! Seriously, that thing is gigantic!!! The price($ 11) was a little over the top but you could definitely split it between 3 people and be good. Next time I want to give the fried pickles a go! My one complaint and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that there are no vegetarian meals on the menu. I’m vegetarian, several of my friends are vegetarian, I would love to bring them here for lunch or dinner but unfortunately it looks as though they can’t accommodate us. My tip to the owner would be make the substitution of a veggie patty available for the burgers. It’s cheap, simple and you would expand your audience exponentially.

The first 2 times I came here I loved it, but when I went last night we sat at the bar and there were fruit flies EVERYWHERE. It was disgusting. Our plan was to eat dinner there, which we obviously avoided and chugged our mug of beer and left and ate at bartaco.

This place is cool. It’s located next to the Port Chester train station so it’s pretty easy to find. –pros– Beautiful setting, nice Flat screen tvs hanging on the wall, 3rd rail margaritas were good and the Southern Fried Buttermilk sandwich and NY Strip Steak sandwich were good. Cons– Service was just not that great for a place that wasn’t packed, The House beers weren’t that great and the appetizers were cold when we received them. Once the place gets better with their food and have some more options on their menu, the place has alot of potential to be a great spot.

The free pickles for checking in were great. Def. take advantage of that. Otherwise the food was just ok. We got burgers and the fish tacos. There was toothpick in my tomato. The tortillas we stale. The restaurant was not busy our server had 2 tables, but barely came over once our order was out. He never came back to give us the condiments we asked for. Very disappointed in the service. I asked him to please split our bill in 3 he said he would then came back seconds later with only one bill. Seriously dissatified.

I wish this place had better food. Everything else is perfect. The building is airy, light filled and fun. The beers are varied and delicious. But the food is a travesty. The burger they served me was, hands down, the worst burger I’ve ever eaten. The grill wasn’t hot enough, so my medium rare burger was gray on the outside and still cold on the inside. The tomato on the burger ended up being a ¼ inch thick piece of unripe green chompiness. The cheese on the burger wasn’t even close to melted. my wife got the tuna burger, which was equally as disappointing. The restaurant needs to put some serious thought into their menu. The location and beer will only keep this place open for so long.

OMG I loved this place, I wish I had discovered it sooner! I was shopping with my friend one Saturday and he said, lets check out the Port Chester Beer Garden. I said, huh, a beer garden in Westchester?! Ummm yes and it was awesome. It’s literally at the train station(helpful hint). The second I walked inside, I felt like I was living in the wrong era, it had an awesome 1960s vibe to it. Old wooden chairs & tables(both low and high top), wooden benches and pictures from years past align the room. We sat at the bar and ordered some beers.(As an FYI, they have two huge tvs at the bar incase you are looking to watch a sports event). Anyway, the bartender, Dan, was amazing. He let me try a ton of beers before I committed to one.(The beers they have here are exclusive to this bar, which is kinda cool). Back to the bartender… he knew his liquors, was well traveled, super intellectual & super nice guy, we could have stayed chatting with him for hours. Sadly, we only stayed for a quick beer, but before we left, he said, let me show you the back room… we walked into a greenhouse like back porch area that I was told opens up in the summer, adorable fireplace in the middle of the room and some awesome high top seating. There’s also a super cool outdoor area beyond the seasonal room, also with a fireplace. I’m a bit obsessed with this place as I often feel like it’s hard to find a fun bar in Westchester and quite frankly, I’m really over the 5 decent bars they have in White Plains. I am definitely going back to this place, especially when the weather gets nicer! Hopefully I’ll get a chance to try the food next time too!

I came here last week with a large group for a birthday celebration. It happened to be the same night as a B-52s concert across the street, so it was a tight squeeze at first with the concert crowd grabbing dinner before the show. I can see why this place is a draw for large groups — there’s plenty of seating in a cool atmosphere that is an old train station, there’s a good selection of house beers plus wine and cocktail options, and the menu is typical inoffensive pub fare. My group of friends got a big picnic table inside the heated tent, and it was a nice place to gather. Our waitress was really sweet, but the staff was clearly overwhelmed, even after the crowds cleared out. We had some missing orders, some items that came to us only to be taken away to be given to another table that was in a bigger hurry to leave, and we had to ask for things multiple times before we got them(we didn’t get silverware until well after some people had gotten their food). I had two house beers, which were fine but forgettable, and I ordered a giant pretzel, fried pickles, and a cup of chili. The pretzel, which is actually giant, was the best of the three things I had. At least for me, our waitress made up for some of the earlier debacles by taking my pretzel and pickles off the bill(it was kind of a mess that involved another table taking my pretzel, me reordering it, and initially getting charged multiple times, but I think it worked out). Service completely aside because it was a busy night and we may have been difficult ourselves as a large group, this place is three stars in my book — an OK brewpub for OK beers and bar bites.

Had a really great experience tonight catching up with a friend from college. Alex, our waiter, was extremely personable and knowledgable about the menu. He gave us suggestions and made the night a bit more interesting! We had the giant pretzel, a burger and tuna burger. All were tasty!

This is my go to spot. The bartenders are lovely and the manager really goes out of the way to make sure everything is great. The pumpkin ale with sugar and cinnamon is my favorite thing during the holiday season! I’ve pretty much had everything on the menu here and their wings and mac and cheese have bee very satisfying! They also have the best chocolate mousse around!

Port Chester has been rapidly becoming a dinner destination for me. The beer garden was the BOMB this summer – not sure what it will be like as the weather turns. The atmosphere is so cool at the converted station(minus the train announcements). I want to try more things on the menu than times I’ve gotten to go for a meal. I’ve had the sliders, the tuna tacos, and the pretzel and all were delicious – the pictures are accurate, the pretzel really is that large… I docked stars because the times I’ve come, the wait staff has seemed genuinely confused about what to do and I’d like there to be more of a variety of beer options, since it is a beer garden and all. The parking situation is also really bad – I don’t want to worry about being towed while I have dinner! I definitely plan to go back and check in how it progresses and see how those fire pits pan out in the fall!

Can I get some service please!!! I guess this is what the manager deems important while making his customers wait. Updating his Facebook page perhaps. or maybe a very important Tweet. Also, the place needs to be a little more hygienic, the smell from rotten beer in the floor was a little much. I know it’s outside but, maybe a garden hose every now and then might do the trick… Just sayin’ Otherwise quite nice.

I think it is hilarious that everyone is talking about how bad the service is because it’s so true! I’ve already been here 3 times in 10 days(don’t ask. I’m stupid.). I keep thinking it will get better, but it hasn’t! Haha. I’ve had the same experience as everyone else(cold food, slow service, etc) but I will add that my tacos were cold AND had a used lime as garnish. Also, why they would put the most junior servers on shift for a Saturday the night of the strokes concert is beyond me. Anyway, I hate being completely negative tho… here are some plusses: The ambience is awesome. They did a great job with the outdoor seating and real fireplace. The food is actually pretty good if not a dollar or two overpriced. Sushi sashimi tacos were unique, the chix sandwich I thought was good, the pastrami spring rolls surprisingly nice, and everyone gets that pretzel because pretzels are delicious(it was). However, stay away from the burger. There is nothing special there. Bottom line. The place is good for port chester and good for the capitol. Hopefully it’s here to stay and they can clean up the act before any bad word of mouth gets too far. Yay for port chester hall! Ps watch out for when those trains pop the horn.
