We decided to grab a drink before dinner and have visited this place before so it was a familiar place. The draft selection is fantastic but the other issues just drag this place down. The inside is very dark and not in a good way, it feels almost drab. The seats were also coming apart and just not comfortable.

After a work function, a large group of friends and I were looking for somewhere in Greenwich to grab some drinks and a bite to eat, and MacDuffs was one of the few actually open past 10 pm. With a decent Unilocal rating, we decided to check it out. Now I admit, we are a large group and we came in around 10 pm, so I know we were annoying. That being said, this place was not closing and there was no reason for the poor service we received. Our waitress was extremely unaccommodating and rude — you could just tell she did not want to deal with us. Little did she know we were all paying on work credit cards and willing to leave her a decent tip… When asked for the drink list she rolled her eyes and recited their options for us, gave us one food menu for the entire table, and literally threw our check books at us out of frustration. We really aren’t mean people, so I’ve got no clue why she was acting like that. The food was mediocre and they don’t even have a drink list or a listing of their beer options anywhere in the bar. It’s almost pitch black in there and the bathroom was disgusting. We will not be returning. Do yourself a favor and check out the Ginger Man or Little Pub instead — they’ve got a much better handle on service and food in the Greenwich area.

+ Limited draft beers + not an extra ordinary food + not a professional staff Since 3 years, I have been there 3 times. Nothing has been changed.

The wild mushroom pizza is awesome. I thought I didn’t like truffle oil. I was wrong. The staff is nice and the ambiance is warm. TV at the bar.

Unimpressed. Especially with the bartender(he happens to be an Indian man — and I hate to even say it that way). He was rude, purposefully took entirely too long to serve three of us; there was only one other patron at the bar whom was already served). I had to ask for my drink multiple times and once I received it, my boyfriend and his friend did not receive theirs for an addition 5 – 10 minutes. He was not friendly, rude and really made the experience unpleasant.

As a local, I used to go to this place whenever I had a train to catch due to it’s close proximity to the station. The wings are great and there’s always good beer on tap. Two of the bartenders are helpful and polite. The Indian bartender is AWFUL. One of the rudest servers I have ever had the displeasure of coming into contact with. Myself and two others went before grabbing a weekend afternoon train and 3 other patrons were at the bar. When he wasn’t playing with his phone or in the back eating, he was rude when we had to remind him after 10MINUTES that we had ordered drinks. Other than that, he got one of the simple drinks wrong and didn’t fill one of the beers up to the top. Ignored us when we asked to change the station that no one was watching. We didn’t even finish our drinks before leaving, we needed to get away from his horrendous attitude. Bartenders work in a business where they have to interact and be polite, a small ask. It’s a shame that one person can ruin a great bar. I WILLNEVERGOBACK. I’ll take the wings as take out next time.

This is my favorite restaurant in Greenwich and one of my faves anywhere! My BF& I go here regularly and although I’ve tried many menu items and not been disappointed, we definitely have our favorites… the french onion soup is the BEST, the mozzarella nuggets are amazing, great wedge salad and the Dennis pizza is delicious!!! Took a friend of mine who is from Ireland and she loved the fish & chips. Even better than the food though is the service — friendly, attentive and after a few times they will remember you. Every time I go I feel like I’m home… everything is done right here!

Had a great meal here with my wife. We went on a Sunday night and it wasn’t too crowded or loud. They have very good traditional British/Irish/Scottish food and it is well done — not gimmicky at all. Some very good beers are on tap. I had the sausages in a puff pastry and it hit the spot, and my wife’s pork shoulder sandwich was very well done. I’ll be back for sure.

Great find just off the 95. Smoothest pint of Guinness(since our trip to Ireland this spring). Then quick bite of Shepherd’s Pie & a salad. Highly recommend this place, especially if you like Guinness!

We had a pleasure of having a late lunch/early dinner today at MacDuff’s and were beyond impressed with the service and food! Natalie, our hostess, was very nice, friendly, accommodating, and fast. She was just such a pleasure to deal with. We ordered French Onion Soup, Shepherds Pie, Corned Beef with cabbage, potatoes, and carrots, and Chicken Bites. The first three dishes were outstanding. Chicken bites were good. It was a great experience all around and we will definitely be back.

Macduff’s is my go-to spot in Greenwich. I regularly order the Dennis Pizza and the burger with beet salad. The French onion soup, wings and mussels are tasty too. To drink, I typically opt for the Newcastle in a 20+oz bottle. The food is very good, but what keeps me coming back are the outgoing bartenders and the friendly owner.

I have lived in Greenwich for five years, worked here for seven, and I JUST started going to MacDuff’s this past year. It always looked so dark and kind of like a castle but we gave it a chance one day and thank god, it’s my favorite place in Greenwich. The food here is excellent and they have a awesome specials nightly. They have a band/DJ one night a week. I wish they had more local beers on tap or in a bottle but other than that, it’s A+ for me.

It’s wonderful to discover a great little pub within walking distance of your home! MacDuff’s is right across from the Bow Tie Cinema in Greenwich. The outside is unassuming but don’t let that fool you. Inside is wonderful food, especially for a pub! The lobster and guacamole salad was delicious! Thai chicken — superb! And the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes– yum!!! So, the food is great! They also have a variety of beers to sample. A live band plays rock music on Wednesday nights from 10 – 1:00 am. This is where you get a different perspective of MacDuffs. It’s bustling, loud and packed. Good music and drinks are what you should go for then. The proprietor is a seasoned professional who is doing things right. My advice? Try it, you’ll like it…

Was here last Friday night with a girlfriend. We stumbled upon this bar after driving through Greenwich for 15 min looking for a parking space. The main takeaway from this bar was its TERRIBLE service. We waited 15 min at the bar to never be seen by the bartender(this Greenwich, ct– not Greenwich village, people). We then waited 10 min to be seated since we thought that would speed things up– even though there were seats readily available. Once seated, it took our waiter 20 min to check on us or take a drink order. When he finally came back to get us drinks, we asked for a food menu– which took another 15 min. While the food was decent(I had the venison salad, friend had the French onion soup), the service and prices($$$!) make this a no-return for me.

Food is a bit on the pricey side, but is tasty. I’d probably go there again.

I went last night with a friend who lives in the area, and it was SO good. We had the mozzarella nuggets for starters, which were amazing. The crumbed outsides were crispy and delicious, the cheese in the middle was hot and gooey. We had the Shepherd’s Pie for mains, and even though I’ve had Shepherd’s Pie on many occasions, this was the best that I have ever tasted. The pie has lamb in it, so the meat was flavoured very delicately, and spiced extremely well. The potato topping was crisped around the edges. The pie was bubbling hot when it came to the table, and smelled delicious. We accompanied the meal with the house pinot noir(from Northern California), which was nice, but a little light for my taste. This is one of the ‘Do Not Miss It’ places to eat in CT!

Went here last night. Had a very good meal. I loved the burger(a little overfilled), fires were much better than average. Try the root vegetable slaw, amazing. Good Scottish fare all around, but a bit on the pricey side…
