La Quinta Inn & Suites Port Charlotte

We had a good time at the hotel. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. They have complimentary coffee all day… which is great! We would definitely stay there again.

This is a great hotel! Very clean. The beds are very firm but it is very quiet at night. The rooms are a great size with plenty of room for additional sitting. Did I say Clean? I only encountered a few employees but all were very nice and always asked us how our stay was. I have 0 complaints and will stay here again. Kudos for being pet friendly, I saw dogs of all sizes! They have a great potty spot for dogs as well as trailer, RV and boat parking. Highly recommend this place!

Fairly wuiet, clean, good sized room.
The bed was comfy.
The hallway to the elevator was small so maneuvering was hard.
One can only get the luggage cart into the room
A short distance before you are halted by furniture. At this point you have to squeeze by to actually unload the cart.
Never had the breakfasts…

I made a reservation on 22 July for a 14 August 2x night stay, and secured the reservation with a credit card. I was with a large group of people attending a weekend event in Port Charlotte. When I arrived at the hotel I was told they did not have a room for me, due to air conditioning issues, of course they told another member of our group the truth and just over booked. They did tell me that they had reserved a room for me at their sister hotel about 4.5 miles away, a Micro Hotel. I didn’t make a reservation at Micro Hotel so I didn’t want to stay there. One would think that if they had a room three weeks prior it would be there when you arrive.
Recommendation don’t trust this property to have your reservation, despite the emails and a phone call I made too the days before, they gave my room away.
Have a backup plan like their competitor next door, Sleep Inn.

Staff are really friendly, breakfast is really good, one of the staff member Lucy goes out of her way to make everything to your liking and make you feel comfortable. Room and hotel clean and neat would definitely return

Great pool and hot tub, private and clean. Grounds and room very clean, small store in lobby sells basic snacks, travel supplies and beer /​wine /​soft drinks

Clean room, comfortable bed, and they take cats. Husband had breakfast said it was fine. Pool is just the right temp. Room is just a little crowded with couch, two arm chairs and large desk. We stay at La Quinta often as we travel with our cats. Still surprised at the people who will bring there dogs to breakfast. Leave them in the room! Will stay here again, we are down every couple months to visit mom.

Hotel room was nicely sized, decorated and had everything one would expect. Sizeable crumbs or dirt were under the chair, so it seems they didn’t vacuum all that well. Bed was soft, comfortable and your head would sink perfectly into those pillows. Overall the room was great. Employees were okay, having had an odd interaction with a member at the desk who out right said they wanted to quit. Went out for breakfast both mornings so I have no review if that. Hope this helps!

Very friendly staff, dog friendly, and clean. Rooms are nice. Plenty of restraunts, gas stations and a Walmart down the street. There is a little pond with high brush by the back entry door with a sigh «beware of alligators.» Breakfast in the AM is good. Make your own waffles, eggs, cereals, breads, bagels, oatmeal, ect.

We travel with our Lab Morgan and always try to find Pet Friendly hotels. La Quinta traditionally is pet friendly wand has no size/​weight limits. The problem is that it is La Quinta and most are old and dumps, especially all along I-​75 North, from Fl to Michigan.
We struck gold. The La Quinta in Pt Charlotte is brand new, bas pillowtop very comfortable beds and flat out rocks if you are traveling with a pet. It is the same mid-​level quality as Hampton Inn… so do not expect the Ritz or the Driskill in Austin… but for ~$ 100 per night this one is a great Pet friendly hotel.
I suggest trying to find a new La Quinta when traveling…
