Miserable experience. We were told a 20 minute wait, took over an hour, the service was terrible and the food came out cold. Save your money.

Small souvenir shop on the way into the restaurant. Doesn’t have much. A little sad.

Waited well over an hour for a table and a just as long for our food. Three different people in our party received the incorrect dish. Waitress was beyond rude. Don’t waste your time!

I tried to check in with a party of 14 and the girl at the front rolls her eyes and said she highly doubts we cant accommodate that large of a party and no one will be able to sits together. The problem was we had seven kids and didn’t look thrilled about that. They also had plenty space available. No worries our $ is gladly accepted at other places.

It was horrible. I saw a rat going into a hole above the ladies room. The mahi mahi smelled bad and tasted worse. I stopped eating after I saw the second rat visit the ladies room. Pets are great at some places but this was no beloved family friend. I hope the enjoyed the food more than I.

This is your typical tourist restaurant with overpriced mediocre food. It was FREEZING inside! Our server was nonexistent so we ended up asking the bartender for mostly everything. Our food took about 45 minutes to come out and was cold and soggy. I wouldn’t suggest coming here.

There’s not much I can add that hasn’t been said here already. I can only urge you to take the bad reviews seriously and look elsewhere. The tables and menus seemed unclean, the coconut shrimp was inedible, the blackened mahi and fish po’ boy were adequate, the color of my son’s corn dog was questionable, and it all seemed way overpriced. The one upside was the service was pretty good.

Had the breakfast. It was pretty good, but not great. The crab omelette was greasy, but it was real crab, not that fake crap.

I had the 4 grilled shrimp and 1 mahi mahi… I tried them both blackened. Delicious, with a side of green beans and rice! Cooked to perfection! The atmosphere and the gift shop inside are very cool! The portion is a little small for the price($ 17.99). The chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. When you have to wait for a table, there isn’t any place to sit while you do so. I would return, perhaps try the breakfast!

Last night was the second time we had eaten here and we were not disappointed. We were asked if we had an indoor/outdoor seating preference. We didn’t mind sitting outside, the weather was perfect. We were seated right away without a wait. Our waitress kept checking on us and was great about refilling our drinks. The food took a little long to come, but that’s expected during a busy dinner time. So there’s no way I would complain about that. We did choose to go at 7 pm. My 16 and 20 year old wanted to go somewhere that served large portions, and they were not disappointed. Their eyes were bigger than their stomachs. They got more than they expected and loves the food. I enjoyed it as well. We will always make this place a must stop during our visits.

I have to say I had one the worst experiences at Moby dicks. I was referred to this restaurant from the best western front desk attendant. They stated it was good for family and I have 4 kids so we chose this place. On top of the hostess being extremely awkward looking at me and my family like we were aliens as I left the place I passed right in front of her and she didn’t even say thanks for coming. My waitress acted very odd and obviously avoided my table because of my 4 kiddos. My husband and I had to get her attention every time we wanted something. She at one point rolled her eyes at my husband. I left really mad and if I wasn’t trying to juggle my diaper bag and baby I would’ve made a huge deal about the way we were treated. The food was good but the service was just terrible. What a way to start of our vacation. I hope anyone with kids avoids this place.

The atmosphere is great. It is a tourist trap but everyone knows it is and the place caters to them. The food is ok and the gift shop is great with good prices. It’s perfect for kids. The food was slow coming but the appetizers were quick and it gave us time to look through the shop. My daughter dropped her hot dog on the floor and an employee immediately came up and said they had another one on the way. I thought that went the extra mile. I would probably go 3 stars on food alone but the atmosphere and kind gesture from the staff bumped it to a 4 for me.

Nice place, great selection of different gift items. Walk in and turn left to the gift shop. Straight ahead is the restaurant. 35 cents for post cards. They are all over the place though with different cards. I was looking for variety of Port Aransas cards, but only found a handful. They also had Corpus and specific attractions like Planes and Aquariums. No matter, I was ok with some duplicates. Friendly service!

Good food. Good service. The fried fish po’boy was really good. The fish filet was a lot of food. Two large filets with fries. Kids enjoyed the chicken tenders.

Went for breakfast this morning. We were greeted by an extremely rude hostess. Her welcome was«are there two of you?» She then grabbed two menus and walked away. She was about 20 feet away from us when she discovered that we were not following her. She stopped, put her hands on her hips and gave us a dirty look. We told her that we wanted to sit in another area inside. She was not happy! She finally came back, took us to a table and threw the menus on the table and left! Another group of people came in just after us and she did the same thing to them. They were not happy. I talked to our server, who was great, about the hostess and she said she was sorry and would mention it to the manager. She did. Apparently this was not the first time that this has happened. So…good food and service for us. Bad reception! Bad experience for us and other diners.

This place is unique! Love the way it looks on the outside and inside. Many different eating areas, all the same restaurant. I like the way they did this! At first we didn’t think we were going to like our waiter. He seemed preoccupied. Once he got to waiting on us, he was amazing! Loved his personality, he told us all about the menu, made suggestions for us based on what we told him we liked. Then we wanted a drink and a strong one at that. So he recommended this one that comes in a Bamboo looking glass. It was small for the hefty price of $ 12, but well worth it. We split it and I can tell you that I was feeling mighty fine and then some by the time we finished the drink. We had a fried pepper concoction that I cannot remember the name of, but it was amazing! You have to try it, it is like a jalapeño popper but much much better! I had the raw oysters and my husband had a variety of broiled oysters. I tried his, he tried mine, I liked mine best, he liked his best. We had a great time taking pictures of everything there and the waiter was the best!

So we just saw this place off the street wanted seafood so we spontaneously came here. When we walk in and it’s very Pirate thematic! Really cool… :-D for appetizers we got Calamari strips… decent nothing special, not worth the $ 6. I got a combo of fried shrimp, clams, fish, and crab stuffing … its was ok… My boyfriend got broiled crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, and a cornbread muffin, corn on the cob, and sausage … that’s was awesome I ended up leaving my food and picking at his. Overall I liked it I would definitely come back to Moby Dick’s.

I went to Moby Dick’s a few years ago and didn’t have a good experience, since then — going back was NEVER something I would’ve imagined doing. Until last week when we visited and my family was indecisive about where to eat, we decided to give Moby Dick’s another try and I’m SO happy we did. We were a party 8 total so we didn’t get sat immediately since they had to make us up a table(about 15 minutes). Although once we did get sat, we were immediately helped by our server who was SO nice! She was so helpful and kept on top of everything, it was great! I got a snow crab boil which was fabulous. The kids meals came with fries and a pudding or jello which was an added bonus. The whole family enjoyed the meal and the experience at Moby Dick’s! Even afterwards when we finished eating, we took the kiddos over to the fish tanks to look at the fish and a man came over(who we assumed worked there) and started explaining all the different fish inside the tank. Was really nice of him! Overall, a GREAT experience. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Port A and are stuck between different restaurants, PLEASE check Moby Dick’s out! You won’t regret it!

My boyfriend and I had just arrived to Port Aransas and our hotel wasn’t ready, so we decided to grab a drink around town. This place was near by, so we walked in. I was hungry, so I had the grilled fish sandwich. The sandwich wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t bland. It was just there. Drinks were similar. This place is a good place if you just need something, but it’s not cheap or awesome.
