Lydia’s Loft

Clean and welcoming! Feels like home, in a lofty-​type of way. The view of the courthouse is so neat, especially after dark. We have rented this several times and I will be renting the weekend of my wedding. I feel it is the perfect space to prepare for my special day. It photographs so well too! It’s historic and ornate with slight a modern feel. Very unique and so great for a small town with limited lodging options.

Lydia’s Loft is definitely one of the best places we’ve stayed in recent years! First of all the space is huge! It’s literally a loft/​apartment-​style set-​up, much like a bed & breakfast would be except you have the entire place all to yourself! There are two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open-​floor-​plan kitchen/​living room. The space is renovated, but continues to exude rustic charm with its original hardwood floors and exposed brick walls. The furniture and appliances are all updated and modern with classic style and retro Route 66 flair.
The view from the living room windows is beautiful! We had the best seat in the house to watch the hustle and bustle of the Route 66 festival that was going on around the downtown square. We stayed the night with another couple who agreed when we said we wished we could live in the Loft! Perfect size, so quaint, filled with amenities like a basket of snacks, soda in the fridge, coffee for the morning, plenty of pots, pans and dishes in case you want to cook your own meals, as well as a bunch of bathroom toiletries in case you left yours at home, a washer and dryer and even a crib!
If you ever find yourself anywhere near Pontiac, IL… don’t stay at a chain! This place is well worth the price, you won’t be disappointed!
