Closed, only surprised that it lasted as long as it did. When I say closed, I mean out of business, kaput, finished, gone, didn’t last a year…

This place is just ok. Nothing special. We ordered a dirty martini & they asked if we wanted it in the rocks. The appetizer was the best part of the meal. Mussels in white wine & garlic. The only down side is it was a small portion. Entrees were bbq ribs for $ 19.99. Tasty but a small portion. They were to be served with fries & coleslaw but they came out with broccoli & a baked potato. Our server said it was her mistake & not the kitchens. The 2nd entrée was filet minion tidbits prepared with bacon, sundried tomatoes, onions & mushrooms. I asked for broccoli & mashed potatoes but got a baked potato. This was tasty. One & done. We will not got back.

Last night we came here for the first time. I have to say not just my lady and I, but everyone was having an unbelievable Rockin’ party. Ray from Now & Then was performing with Manhattan Harmony and everyone even some of the staff were dancing the night away. You have to check this place out on at least Thursdays and Saturday nights if you love to party. The music is better than you could ever imagine. Can’t wait to go back on Thursday night to rock to Manhattan Harmony, and Saturday night to also non stop dance to Now & Then. Now for the food. My lady had Eggplant Parm. I had the Trout. They came with saladshttps://www.facebook.com/bob.plosker/posts/1204562529934228 and sides, cooked to Perfection. Priced right and delicious. The menu is more extensive than what is posted. The entire staff makes you feel as you are family, and very professional . Oh, I almost forgot, as the evening went on, the staff was bringing free shots to everyone. That was very nice. You really have to check this place out. Thank you Rolstons Bistro for making our evening a great party.

I went for the first time on a Saturday night and it was great with live entertainment! The food and dessert is really good! The best part of the night is when everyone got free shots and dessert! Great friendly staff too… I will be back soon!

Plain and ordinary. Walked in and the place had a strange oder, like someone was cleaning the grill with charcoal. Only 3 other people in the restaurant. I ordered the prime rib with baked potato and got mased potatoes. Oh well, not a big deal. But the waiter never nticed my drink glass was empty. I had to ask for a refill. Honestly i dont think this place is going to survive. Disappointed.

Rolston Restaurant at Winn Dixie Plaza 281 S. Pompano Parkway Pompano Beach, FL33069 Phone — 954−960−5440 Dear Friends, Here is our promised review of the restaurant. We had dinner there last night. New management and wait staff. Excellent service. Food was very good.Appetizer —Fried calamari with Puttanesca sauce. $ 8.99.It was delicious but next time would order the Puttanesca sauce on the side so the calamari would stay crispy.Fresh basket of bread. I had small salad,(I would have liked more dressing)grilled steak, broccoli rabe and baked potato. $ 19.99.Delicious!Husbandhad salad, ‘Tidbits’ which was sliced filet mignon, mushrooms, onions, sun-dried tomatoes and gravy and a side of french fries. $ 18.99.That also was delicious! The plated food was pleasing to the eye and very well prepared. This weekend was a free glass of wine or dessert for every entrée ordered. Otherwise, happy hour house wine is $ 3.00 glass and happy hour mixed drink is $ 4.00. Chocolate Mousse pie was the free dessert — $ 4.99. Didn’t care for the pie but then I am not so big on dessert.Husband did like the pie.Happy Hour is 4 – 8 pm. Pretty inside and beautiful bar with seating. They serve appetizers and dinner at the bar also. Lots of single men dining and a few couples. There was a man playing the keyboard and singing. Nice touch but the acoustics were not good for hearing the words to the songs. Nothing on the windows or floors to absorb the sound. The online menu is not the same menu as in the restaurant. I think they are still tweaking things and they should be on par soon. We would definitely go back.4 ½ stars out of 5. Good job Rolston…

Stopped in to Rolston on Saturday afternoon and after speaking to the chef,(who was at the Hungry Dog in Lighthouse Point for several years) decided on the fried chicken; which was described as marinated in buttermilk and fried — this was probably the best fried chicken I have tasted — the breading was seasoned to perfection and amazing, with just the right amount of crunch as you bit into it. The chicken was extremely moist and juicy. I asked for mashed potatoes with gravy — the potatoes were fabulous, and I tasted small pieces in it, so yummy… Then he was making a pot roast for later, so he let me try the pot roast gravy. I must go back and have the pot roast. Actually, there are so many items on the menu I want to try. Their menu is extensive and well put together. I read some of the other reviews, and that was before this current chef. You must stop back, believe me… I sure am!

We’re here on vacation, this was the first place we went to to eat and we are already planning to return! The salad was good, the burger tasted fresh like it was cooked on a BBQ grill. I also like the color scheme although not too sure about the books on the walls. The only gripe I can find is that the menu is a tad limited which is ok considering all of the stuff we had was very good. Know one thing and do it well! One more serious note for improvement: cut your own fries. It’s not only better quality for your guests but also cheaper to produce.

On 4⁄30 six of us Ate at Rolstons in the Palm Aire Marketplace shopping center. We were impressed! From the guy that seated us to our waiter we could not have asked for better service. I ordered the 2″ thick pork chop. Perfect. Tender and juicy! Others had the strip steak and salmon. We were all impressed. We will be back. They have live entertainment three nights a week so we will go back soon. Fortunately we arrived during happy hour. Well drinks only $ 4.00

Went here last night with 2 friends, sat at a table, but no one ever stopped by. Went to the bar and had great service. Food was decent, overpriced. Would come back for the bartender’s personality.

The place is brand new. Booths and tables are very clean and neat. Staff seems to be a little green when it comes to serving, and still not well versed in the menu items. Very nice people though. They have a good bar and live music(keyboard and vocals). I had the plain burger with some iced tea. Food is good! Price seems too be a little higher than it should be, but nothing that will scare people away from Rolston. It’s a nice addition to the plaza where they are at. I think it’s worth the try. Oh, almost forgot… No straws, no espresso.

Just had dinner there with my wife. Great food, pleasant music and good service. They have a restaurant area and a bar with tables area. Prices are also good. Highly recommended.

Despite reading some bad Unilocal and word-of-mouth reviews, we decided to give Rolston a try. While I agree with some of the Unilocal reviews about the décor and the slow service(probably due to the poor floor plan layout with no visible server station, requiring the server to walk all the way back to the kitchen for most things) and the totally bizarre laser lighting in the men’s room, our food was pretty good. I had the French onion soup(excellent), the glazed salmon(delicious) with perfectly-roasted asparagus finishing with a great crème brulée. My dining partner gad a perfectly cooked medium-rare burger which, while on the smallish side for the price, was very good, followed by a delightful salted caramel crunch dessert. I’m willing to chalk up some of the earlier bad reviews to start-up glitches shortly after opening and plan to come back. I’m curious to try the meatloaf which so many people panned to see if they are responding to feedback.

Tasteless food that is WAY over priced for the area. Our burger and meatloaf tasted as if was a hunk of meat just tossed on the grill. We were hoping for a great new good restaurant in the Palm Aire neighborhood but are sorely disappointed. Having entertainment on Saturday nights is not going to help bring in the crowd when the food is so awful. NoT one of dozen or so friends that have been here liked it. STAYAWAY.

Not the greatest. Price is ridiculous. A single burger with lettuce, tomatoes, a fries egg and a soda $ 17.99? Besides the price for such ordinary burger. I had to go over 3 different selections on the menu. They didn’t have what i wanted so i figured can’t go wrong with a burger… To me this a NOGO!

This is an edit to the below review. Was in the neighborhood with friends and decided to give the restaurant another try. Came in at 7:00 p.m. on 9÷17÷15 and the place was empty. They had a mediocre doo-wop group on stage making too much noise for the dinner hour. Your dinner guests can’t hear you and vice versa. We ordered drinks and an appetizer of fried calimari. The dish costs $ 9.95 and was really small. The calimari was somewhat undercooked. The breading had a pale, pasty appearance to it. It came with a small amount of dipping sauce which was adequate but nothing special. I’m sorry it’s still not nearly up-to-par after eight months of operation. Will not return. My original review is below: Went to dinner with friends. Ordered hamburgers medium and they came well-done to the point of overcooked. They were«Maytag Bleu Cheese Burgers» but had no cheese on them. We called over the Manager who said that if we order them next week they’ll put on double bleu cheese for us.(??). No offer was made to replace them. Drinks were not what was requested. Ordered a vodka gimlet and got straight vodka. We told the waitress and she took the drink away. She returned to our table a few moments later to say that the bartender does not know what a vodka gimlet is, so could you explain it. I had fried chicken. It was cooked correctly but bland and ordinary. Taped music in the restaurant was blaring and you couldn’t speak with your guests unless you raised your voice. Very few people eating. The tables are all«high tops», which are uncomfortable. We moved to a booth. Prices are high and the food, drinks and service are all poor. Save your money and your time. Plenty of great places to eat in the vicinity.

Being a new place in the neighborhood — only open a week — we headed there for lunch today. We were hoping for a good local«go-to» place. As of now, this won’t be it. But, we’ve decided we give it a try for breakfast(they’ll be opening for breakfast next week) and dinner. We’re hoping the issues we had were just them trying to get into there groove, being newly open. First, the food. We shared the disco fries for an appetizer. They’re basically steak fries with gravy and crumbled blue cheese. I thought they tasted fine, but my partner didn’t care for it. The main issue was that the fries were not crispy at all. Yes, they had gravy, but it was more like they were quickly tossed in a thick sauce. The blue cheese was fairly bland. For our mains, my partner had the oyster po’ boy which he liked well enough, but he said it was nothing to write home about. It came with more of the mushy steak fries, which went uneaten. I had the pappardelle. It had a good flavor, but the pasta was a bit overcooked. The décor is pleasant enough, but they definitely need to change a few things. There are a number of high-top tables in the center of the large space. They look incredibly uncomfortable… I’d never want to sit there. They’ve mounted bookcases on the walls over the tables and loaded them up with books. It’s a nice concept, but the execution is flawed. They stained the wood, and applied a high-gloss finish. They look tacky… really tacky. If they were painted, they’d actually look nice. They have a hodgepodge of books. It would have been nicer if they had picked one or two colors of paper and made covers to make it more unified. However, all that is personal taste, and I did not take this into account with my rating. However, they also have hung sheer curtain panels on the walls over the bookcases. It looks incredibly cheap… and it won’t take long for them to become dusty and greasy… take those down!!! There are two things that really warrant the low rating; service and restrooms. When we arrived, we were the only customers there. Near the end of our lunch, one other gentleman came in. The restaurant appeared to be fully staffed with nothing do do. That’s why it’s so perplexing why the service took so long, and no one bothered to check in on us or apologize why it was taking so long for the food to come out. The fries app took FOREVER to arrive. We were hopeful that the mains would be out shortly after we finished the app. But no… again, the wait was FOREVER. And, after our table was cleared, it seems all staff disappeared… we had to wait and wait for our server to reappear and ask him for the check. HE brought it and dropped it off, even though I had my credit card in my hand. It took more time for him to return to take the card. Then, even more time for it to be processed. He took it to the back, then about 5 minutes later, he took it up front(I’ll be checking my account). Seriously, almost 2 hours for lunch in an empty restaurant? In addition to all the wandering servers, there appeared to be about 3 management people. Only one stopped by — only to tell us that what we ordered were his favorite dishes. No asking us how we liked it or welcoming us to their new place. Now on the the restroom. I thought I’d never review a restroom other than for cleanliness(which this was spotless). The design as a little tacky, but again, no demerits for that. The issue? The light show! They have a serious Studio 54 laser and strobe light show going on in there! They could charge cover! My concern is that someone may go in there and have a seizure caused by the strobes! We do intend to go back and I hope to raise the rating — but they need to speed things up and rip out the disco inferno!
