The brisket is awesome! They have a bunch of great homemade sauces. Make sure you park at the Midas next door, so you don’t get towed!

A little piece of Texas in South Florida. While this would be a standard bbq joint in the Hill Country, it’s a gem here. Ample portions and a variety of great sauces make it the kind of place coming back to. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

The BBQ is Carolina Style GOOD. The service is poor at best. The owner talks to everyone which is nice except he is the one chopping the beef. So you are going to wait until he is good and ready to stop talking. He has no idea or awareness of how short lunch breaks are for most. There is only 4 parking spots, yes only 4 and there is a major parking war going on with the neighbors. The owner usually takes up 2 of these spots with his black duel truck being double parked. Probably why the neighbors are having parking wars. THEYWILLBOOT or TOWYOU! Recommendation: Dont go there in a hurry and take UBER!

This is by far the best BBQ we have had in several years and several states. Ordered half pound of brisket, a half pound of ribs, and two sides. OMG, the portion was huge and the taste even better! Crispy bark on the brisket that melted in your mouth. The ribs were tinder, smokey, and succulent! The gentleman cutting the meat and putting the platter together was very interactive, asked how we wanted it prepared, and proud of their establishment… and he should be. He even came to our table to follow up. Cornbread and beans were an extra gem! Thank you Blue Willys for offering an amazing product, great portions, and staying true to the BBQ world!

Texas-style brisket on an onion roll with cole slaw… heavenly! Good selection of beers including local Funky Buddha Hop Gun. We’ll be back for the pastrami(Thursday only).

From the second we walked in the experience was great! While we looked at the menu and discussed what to get, the man behind the counter offered us a taste of the brisket. Yum! My boyfriend went with the brisket, I went with the sausage. For sides we got Mac and Cheese, greens, and corn bread. Everything was delicious! There is a great selection of house-made BBQ sauce. My favorite was the Diablo Heat. It wasn’t as hot as I’d hoped, but it had great flavor. I haven’t had sweet tea that good since I was about 6 hours north on 95. Delicious! If the two warnings before you walk in don’t catch your eye, know that the neighbors WILL tow. So mind your manners and park in the designated spots. Staff had to have someone move their car while we were there. Sounds like the next door neighbors don’t mess around with that. Will be back, no doubt.

One of the worse BBQ I’ve ever had. The meat was tough and bearable the BBQ sauce was a watery excuse with no depth to it. I’ve had almost every bbq restaurant in the ft Lauderdale area and this is by far the worst I’ve ever had!

So I’m having a hard time with this review. Part of my meal was really awesome, and then part of it was just okay, but I will get into that. Sam and I came here because I randomly had a craving for BBQ. This doesn’t happen often, so Sam got really excited at the prospect of trying Blue Willy’s(he’s been wanting to go for months). We arrived in the early evening and found a parking spot right in front. I’ve heard that this is pretty lucky, and that parking is usually an issue. We walked right up to the counter and were able to put in our order pretty quickly. I ordered the two meat combo that came with two sides. For the two meats I selected ribs and brisket. For the sides I did cornbread and mac & cheese. I’m pretty sure Sam ordered the exact same thing. The two meat combo was $ 15.99 before tax which I thought was a little pricey, but I guess that’s expected with a BBQ place. Our food took a little while to come out. Not sure why it took so long as I assumed all the meat was cooked hours ago. I was pretty hungry by this point, so I was very excited once our food finally came out. I tried the brisket first, and GOODGOD was it good. Probably the best piece of brisket I have ever had!!! So tender and flavorful. It was almost as if the meat melted in my mouth. Truly heavenly. Next I tried the ribs. Also awesome, but not as good as the brisket. Now here is my dilemma, that first piece of brisket was out of this world! The rest of it, not so much… Of the four or five slices of brisket only one of them was tender and amazing. The other slices were dry and bland. I pretty much had to drench them in BBQ sauce to make them taste good. Now how that even happens I don’t know. I will say that the ribs were on point and the mac & cheese and cornbread were also very good. This review is more like 3.5 stars, but I will bump them up to 4 because the employees were super nice and welcoming. I just wish that every piece of brisket were as good as the first :(. If this had been the case I would be shouting Blue Willy’s praises from the rooftops!

Yes! Best barbecue that I’ve had. To be fair, I’m from NJ and my experience is limited. I had the ribs, brisket and cornbread. With an assortment of homemade barbecue sauces. The brisket was the best I’ve had in my life… however there was a catch that I’d like to chalk up to a bad day. There were a couple of pieces that were incredibly dry and not that good. The ribs melted straight off of the bone and were amazing. Coupled with there barbecue sauces, these are pure heaven. The cornbread was perfect. Not too sweet. Instead it was savory and delicious. And, last but not least, the mac & cheese. It was some of the best I’ve had in my life. And though I may not be experienced with bbq, I am more than qualified on the mac & cheese front. I’ve been a fan of this culinary art since day one. ;) I can’t wait to come back to try the famous pastrami sandwich on a Thursday.

I was really really looking forward to this because I was craving BBQ and this place had amazing reviews but… The Pros… 1) The place smelled amazing 2) The meat cutter guy was hot(I might go back just to see him;) 3) The greens were really good The Cons… 1) The pulled pork was dry. Really dry. Like had been sitting out for a few days dry. Like couldn’t use enough sauce dry. 2) The parking sucked sucked sucked. The empty deli apparently gets all the parking. I double parked to run in and pickup my order. It was very stressful. 3) The brisket was ok 4) The cornbread was burnt and therefore dry as well. While I was waiting in line I did peep out the ribs and they looked meaty and juicy, I would go back to try those… and to see hot guy handle meat. I know, I know, men are not just objects blah, blah, blah…

Surprisingly excellent BBQ from a place that I didn’t even know existed until last week. The place is pretty much no-frills, but the product is excellent. I went with the fairly classic ribs and brisket combo with pit beans and collard greens on the side. I just went with water, but the do have a selection of interesting craft brews on hand. Everything is cut right in front of you and placed on a paper-lined trace. It’s presented with care and not thrown on your plate, which is a nice touch for a BBQ joint. The ribs were amazing — maybe the best I’ve had in the area. I found the brisket to be excellent, but thought it could be a bit more juicy(maybe next time I’ll ask for a fattier portion). Regardless, I’d order both again in a heartbeat. The sauces really excel here. Each table has a few big bottle of sauce, all homemade, all excellent. The sweet sauce isn’t that sweet, but is just perfect. The hot sauce isn’t that hot, but perfect. The surprise was the white-colored vinegar-based sauce — it’ certainly wasn’t what I expected but it was damn good. There is also a North Carolina-style mustard-based sauce, which I did not try. Note that parking here is a bit of a challenge since they only have a few allotted spaces and there is a sign that begs you not to place in the adjacent businesses at risk of being towed. You can circle the corner and park or park at the Midas next door. Keep an eye out for the place on the highway or you’re surely miss it. Great food. I’ll be back.

Attention Be careful where you park. If you’re one of the lucky ones who gets a spot in front good for you but make sure it’s one of theirs(Blue Willy’s Bar-B-Q) cause if it’s marked for the Polish Deli or that sports car place you will be Towed. Park across the street at the Publix and play Chicken crossing the intersection! That being said! I arrived there at 1115 and there was a line about 15 – 20 Deep outside! That says alot about this place. The doors open promptly at 1130. It took about 20 minutes to reach the counter which was well worth it. You place your order and you can see them had slice the Smoked Meat. I had lunch with a good friend. We ordered the pastrami sandwiches. One was on rye bread with mustard and the other was on a onion roll with mustard and cole slaw and a spare ribs plate with mac and cheese, bbq beans, and pickles. The pastrami was juicy and well seasoned with a great bark and the spare ribs were tender and fall off the Bone delicious. The line kept going for awhile. They also had chicken, brisket, and sausage which I will try the next time I’m there! The staff was friendly and professional and kept the line moving. Definitely I’m making the hike again from Kendall again soon to come here.

I had BBQ on my mind, and after landing at FLL I headed here. Be wary of where you park, aka«Boot Monkeys» will hunt you down. As soon as you enter your nose will be filled with the smell of burning wood… a good sign. The decorations are sparse, a good sign that’s all about the food. The menu, very simple and written on the wall… pork, chicken or brisket. It’s your choice if you want a plate or a sandwich, choose sandwich on an onion roll with slaw on top. They serve my now«new Favorite» mac-n-cheese… this amazing carb creation was almost better than the meal. I will be back!

YES!!! This is hands down the best brisket in the area, no questions asked. Perfectly smokey — delicious without even sauce. Melt in your mouth good. I can’t explain to you how amazing it is. It’s the kind of food you take a photo of, no matter how dark that photo turns out, and send it to your family to brag about the food you are eating(which we did). Pork is also quite good — has a nice smoke edge and good flavor. Went really well with the regular barbecue on the table. Sides were decent — but I would come for the meat and meat alone. Be careful about parking — what they say is true and there are signs all over warning you to not park in the deli next door or the(not currently being used) car dealership or they will tow.

If you want good barbecue, go here!!! It is AMAZING! This one of those no frills places. They actually sell out of food some days, particularly on pastrami days(once a week). Located in a run down plaza and connected to some auto sales(lot) and a polish deli. DONOT park in the auto place, you’ll get towed. When you first walk in you’ll see the main counter, possibly a man chopping some brisket(mmmmm), and long«cafeteria-style» tables. Menu is up on a chalk board with all the meats, side dishes and beers they have available. I usually end up with a double meat platter, brisket and sausage. The girlfriend usually goes for ribs(meat falls off the bone) and we’ll end up trading. The meals come with a slice of bread, I assume this is for taste testing the different barbecue sauces they have. Also 2 sides, we usually go for the Mac n cheese and cornbread(jalapeño for me). Everything about the food is amazing. So good I’m practically drooling as I write this. I’m dying to try the pastrami. Based on what I’m told you need to get there around 11am and they sell out by 1:30. Best barbecue in Broward, if not the tri-county area.

So as I was taking the turnpike to a meeting in Boca, on an empty stomach, I see a billboard advertising the Swimming Pigs of Exuma. This inspired me to get some good BBQ, so I asked Savannah(the originator of this story) where to get some in Boca. I drove to Blue Willy’s after said meeting. However, I’m rating them 3.5 There’s a few bugs that need to be worked out with a place that has plenty of potential. For one, they have a parking troll for a neighbor which leaves them only 3 spaces facing Federal Highway. Thus, getting a spot can be tricky. The restaurant has a divey, rustic look with old roadhouse décor, a stash of wood for the smoker and a deliciously smokey aroma inside. The«pardon our dust we’re remodeling sign in the bathroom kind of kills the divey vibe. The food they do have is actually tasty. Feeling famished, I went for their 2 meat combo of half BBQ chicken and half pork ribs swimming in their two BBQ sauce. After asking on the sauces, I sampled both the sweet sauce and Carolina honey mustard(my favorite). My side order of baked beans was perfectly sweet, and the cornbread was good as well. They didn’t have fries or corn on the cob, typical southern food staples. I’m not sure if this was just today or if it’s lacking from their menu in general. Also, their soda selection was lacking; both Coke and Sprite had run out. As I mentioned, this place has a lot of potential. Here’s hoping they work these things out and I can upgrade them next time.

I had Thursday afternoon off — so I headed to Blue Willy’s to get pastrami! I read the reviews about the mean-spirited people at the Polish deli so I passed by the empty spots with signs warning parking was only for their customers. I parked on the side of the Midas shop across from the lot. Waiting on line, I was starving and couldn’t narrow down what I wanted. I figured this is far from our house and I didn’t want to miss out on anything so I decided to order everything! I read a sign advising a 2 sandwich limit of $ 12 pastrami sandwiches. I ordered 2 to go(1 on rye, 1 on an onion roll). They added mustard and Cole slaw. I also ordered sausage, brisket, pulled pork, ribs, corn bread, mac and cheese, collard greens, beans, and Cole slaw. Then I ordered 1 pastrami on rye to eat in. I planned on giving some to my mom, freezing some, and not cooking for days! The guy I assume is the owner was telling the guy whose family took soda cans that it’s not self-serve. The same guy tried to cut the line and order at the cashier’s station and the owner told him to wait on line like everyone else. Then the owner was looking at the storefront window because an employee told him someone was giving parking tickets. At the same time he was telling a customer he was at the pastrami limit and couldn’t add more to his order. When I told hubby about this he dubbed the owner the Pastrami Nazi. In the time I was there they went through nearly 3 pastrami roasts so I think the owner is trying to dole the meat out so everyone gets some. What a problem to have — having to limit pastrami orders so we all get some! Then the owner told me I’d have to wait 15 minutes for my order and should call in big orders but then said they don’t answer the phone for hours on Thursdays. I told him I’d never been there before so I didn’t know. His eyes bounced off every wall as he spoke to me. I think he’s a nice guy but trying to watch everything. The food: The hand cut smoked pastrami is the VERYBEST I’ve ever had. I wish it had less peppery rub on it but it’s soft and juicy. The brisket is tasty — a tad dry(I ate it without the sauce served on the side) but GREAT with sauce. The pulled pork is terrific — even without the side sauce, likely because it has a higher fat content. The sausage is soft and smoky. The ribs are meaty and heavily rubbed. The smoke hits your mouth before you make contact with the meat. The mac and cheese is ok — hubby loved it. The beans are fabulous and I’m not a bean lover. The Cole slaw is great, especially with the meat. The collard greens are sweet — not salty. The corn kernel studded cornbread is dry and dense. I got my order quickly and went to my car — no ticket. When hubby got home we tasted everything. Our meals have been great ever since!
