Great Tuscan food and quick service! Come hungry because the portions are huge. Feels like a high-end restaurant but charges pretty reasonable prices. I highly recommend coming for lunch because the menu is the same and the prices are lower!

My new favorite Italian restaurant. Everything was beyond excellent starting with the salad and house dressing. The bread was super fresh and the olive oil dipping sauce tasted imported. Entrées were like eating in Italy. There was even a corner table with Italian men. Reminded me of the restaurants I’ve been to that were mob owned. It’s a place to get a meal.

Used to love this place but returned and had a terrible experience. The service was terrible to start, and it took almost 20 minutes before someone let us order something other than water. Then, even though I made it extremely clear that I was ordering gluten free, the server brought me my pasta dish and I was half a plate in when I realized something was weird. I asked her and she said she’d forgotten to request gluten free pasta. I have celiac disease so I will spend the weekend vomiting. Never to return.

I came back to update my review of Nicolinni’s and realized I never wrote one. We visited here about 9 months ago shortly after we moved to the area and the food and service were both quite good. For a variety of reasons, we hadn’t been back but decided to go back last night. The parking lot was quite full when we arrived but we were pleased to see several free tables in the bar and some in the back with no one waiting. Imagine our surprise when the hostess studied her sheet for a bit and said, it will be a 40 – 45 minute wait. No suggestion of having a drink in the bar, having a seat, just, you’ll have to wait. Not sure who all those empty tables were for but clearly not for us. I know things get busy in Boardman on Fridays but I find it hard to believe that they had reservations for that many tables. Needless to say, we didn’t stay. The food was good enough to give them a second star but I doubt we’ll think of stopping here again any time soon.

I have no idea how this place has an overall rating of 4 stars. I supposedly ordered a caesar salad, which my plate barely resembled. The facility is run down and dirty, the food is well below average, and the service is not the least bit memorable. In my opinion, we should have skipped dinner all together and gone straight for Handel’s ice cream!

Absolutely amazing! We went here for my boyfriends birthday and honestly I wasn’t expecting much. When you get to the building its split up, one side is a Starbucks and the other is Nicolinnis. However, once you walk in its beautiful. It’s atmosphere is so relaxing and the scenery is like little Italy. The service was so fast I couldn’t believe it and the food was so filling but so good that you kept eating anyways because the food was just so good. The tiramisu we got for dessert was not only aesthetically pleasing, but it was delicious as well. We were beyond happy and will definitely be back

One of my favorite local restaurants. The only dish that I ever get is the Chicken & Italian Greens over Penne with a cream sauce. To die for! aMaZiNg!!!

Let me start by saying I have dine many times previously and always enjoyed my experience but this past Sunday I had a experience that will make it hard to return! I orders chicken with peppers which was not on the menu but I was told the chef would make it for me when it arrived I told my waiter Timothy” that’s not how it’s suppose to look it was a chicken breast cut in slices with chop peppers on top. There was no juice and very dry and the chicken had gristle in it. I told my waiter and his response was that the regular chef was off. i told him that normally there is 3 pieces of chicken in juice with pepper strips and he laughed at me and said he didn’t know what I was talking about! Thank you I won’t be back! Now I can laugh!

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Youngstown area. I took my team from work to Nicollini’s one year for lunch as a holiday treat, and now they ask to come back every year! Veal Parm is excellent. I also enjoy the Chicken Marsala. They bring you fresh slices of bread and olive oil and grated cheese for dipping. Salads are served family style. My wife and I eat here often, and we highly recommend this place.

Yet another delicious Italian option in the Youngstown area. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but Nicolinni’s has a certain flare for class without abandoning the tried-and-true red sauce greatness that just seems to emanate from the Mahoning Valley. If I had to choose between here, Capri, and MVR I’d go to all three. In addition to some smashing Italian favorites, Nicolinni’s offers fun drinks and tasty desserts. This«newer» location for Nicolinni’s shares the old«Cooker» building with a Starbucks.

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to for Italian. I would highly recommend the Eggplant Parmesan, even if you don’t like eggplant. It is amazing. I liked the Carbonara, however, there was a heavy hand when adding the bacon. It defintely took away from the dish.

The best Chicken Marsala around! One of my favorite restaurants and I’ve never had a bad meal here. Their pizzas are really good, their hot peppers are marinated really well, and their eggplant dishes and really tasty. And their desserts are homemade and amazing.

So we’re in the Youngstown area for a family event. The daughter wanted to go shopping. We went to southern park mall. She got what she was looking for and we started looking for a place to eat. Since my daughter is vegetarian we thought let’s go Italian. She orders ravioli and asks for marinara sauce assuming that it is vegetarian like EVERYOTHERITALIANRESTAURANTONTHEPLANET. Wrong! And no where on the menu does it say anything about it. Just stupid. Also, the fried zucchini we ordered was way over salted. Terrible. We cut our losses and left. We’ll stick to the excellent italian food we have locally in New Jersey.

Awesome! Let’s start with the bread and oil, delicious. Our waiter Tim made sure that we had plenty. The salad was perfect and again it was all you cared to eat. Our party had five different dishes, each one of them was prepared exquisitely. Veal Picatta, Veal Marsala, Veal Parmesan and Chicken Marsala. I did not order a dish, I chose to have our waiter Tim give me what he would eat. I received the Chicken and Greens Penne with the spicy sauce. This was probably one of my best meals ever! I never would have chosen this dish. Wow was I surprised!!! The only downside was the lack of dessert. We were all so stuffed we had no room for dessert. Maybe next time I’ll start with the dessert! Again kudos to our waiter Tim! Great job Tim!!!

Before even entering the building, I had a good indication that I wouldn’t be disappointed due to the fact that the parking lot was packed and the popular franchise competing Italian restaurant across the street had plenty of parking left… Everything was great, food was delicious, service was top notch, atmosphere was inviting. Only thing that I would like to see change is the tiramisu portion size. I order it to share because usually they come in large slices… not the case here. It was a little cup single serving. Slightly disappointed when it was finished and both of us were digging at the bottom of the foil cup trying to magically get more of it. Despite the dessert devastation, I will definitely be returning again soon.

The bread and oo dip was fantastic! Rib eye was ok fettuccini Alfredo was very good as was the chicken piccata. The piccata had too much sauce but it’s flavor was very good. The table had a greasy residue and atmosphere felt like I was in a banquet hall rather than a nice Restraunt. Over all a good meal for money.

Youngstown is known for the Italian population. Everybody feeds you pasta here and I have always wondered how chain italian places exist here. This is my favorite local italian restaurant in town. It is right on 224 in a building that has my favorite place next door… starbucks. cute building… much bigger inside than you would expect from the outside. Plenty of parking arundel the building and in the back. Inside is decorated nicely with a front room that has booths, high tops and a bar area. If you go further in, there are a ton more tables and booths and even a banquet area for family get togethers. NOW…their food! Great sauce. Entrees come with a salad that is a simple yet always fresh. Love their italian dressing. Crisp and good portioned. Even before that cones their signature olive oil and garlic with herbs dipping sauce and fresh baked bread. I’ve never had a bad dish here. Favorites are: linguini with clams and red sauce. Eggplant parmesan amd penne. Spaghetti bolognese. Pasta with pink vodka sauce. For appetizers, their italian greens are awesome as well as the stuffed peppers or peppers in oil. You can tell I like some heat. Service …this time was nice. Normally it’s just ok. The hostess area is always busy with employees and I’ve never been treated like they really go out of their way to make sure you enjoy everything. But…food is one of the best in ytown.

After two neighbors recommended Nicolinni’s, we finally visited. And we’ll be back to work our way through the entire menu. Nicolinni’s is the BESTITALIANFOOD we’ve ever had, anywhere. Normally, any Tuscan-style food is great, but Nicolinni’s goes that extra mile by baking their own bread, making their own sauces, and making the desserts in –house. The bread was soft and fresh, and the dipping pesto oil was excellent. The house Italian salad dressing was good enough to drink, and was a little sweet, which was unexpected, but very, very good. I had the linguini carbonara, which was not an egg-based carbonara, but a cream-based sauce that was very rich and very tasty. My husband had the lasagna with a rich tomato and meat sauce. For dessert we split a tiramisu. It was the perfect size to end our meal. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We’ll be back, many, many times.
