The Villas At Po’i Pu Kai

We stayed in a ground floor 3-​bedroom Poolside Villa and it was perfect! We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and a condo style property with a full kitchen as well as pool and easy beach access were among our top priorities. The Villas exceeded our expectations! The unit was clean, well furnished and very spacious. The lanai spaces were large and wonderful to sit out upon for a morning cup of coffee and breakfast. There are dining options within walking distance. The property manager was accessible when we had questions. We will definitely be back and hopefully to rent one of the larger units and invite more of our family!

Beautiful place to stay especially with families. My biggest complaint is the pool temperature. It is very cold. This is the main reason we will not go back.

We stayed here with our families and rented 2 four bedrooms. They took great care of us and if I am being picky my only complaint were issues with the BBQ that we had that continued over a few days and a few small problems with the condos but we loved this place and it worked out great for us!

Exceptional Luxury. Or I could say, luxury with some exceptions. Exceptional because these are well built units with spacious rooms, but they are each apparently separate time share units, managed by an LLC based in Utah. Our unit felt like the inside of a Restoration Hardware (correction: Tommy Bahama) catalog. The chairs were too tall and the counter tops too high for my 5′ 2″ inch tall wife. The sink faucets were fine in the kitchen, but the style was carried into the bathroom, so cupping water to wet my face for a shave had to be rethought as the swan-​neck faucet was squarely beneath my face as I leaned over to wet it.
Read between the lines of what is offered in the units. On «The Villas» website you may notice photos that include rugs. There was a small mat in front of the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Nothing else to soften the space or wipe your feet from the patio or entry. Our unit, like the rest, included a complete kitchen, but was devoid of anything but salt and pepper, so cooking anything was really quite ridiculous to consider. This is not disclosed until you pay for your unit, at which point, you’re committed. You can’t change your mind once the charge goes through. Another eye opener, is the hefty cleaning fee, which is almost equivalent to another day in The Villa.
Ten foot ceilings contributes the feeling of a large space, which brings up an «amenity» I did not consider. Overhead foot traffic. You may never meet your neighbors overhead, but you’ll quickly get a pretty good idea how many there are, whether they’re adults or children, and how much earlier –or later– their day runs. If you’re still willing to consider a garden unit, ignore or heavily discount the green photos you see on the site. If you don’t face the pool, you’ll get a thin screen of ti plants between your patio and a walkway that separates your unit — from another unit.

You Get What You Pay For
We were expecting more based on what we read about the property and some of the reviews. If you are looking for a condo that feels like a glorified apartment, no views, and limited amenities at best, then it could work for you and your family. Because of the above and the fact our sons [who are 6’2″ to 6’4″] didn’t fit in the beds, we checked out after one day and moved to the Marriott. We were still charged for the entire stay even though we left after one night — an expensive lesson once again proving the old adage that you get what you pay for.

Stayed in the penthouse suite. It was freaking awesome. Here’s what you need to know…
— The facility is extremely clean and well kept.
— The kitchen is stocked with most of what you need to cook a meal and clean up after
— Everything is pretty modern and new, stainless steel appliances
— Bathrooms are stocked with towels
— Washer dryer including detergent
— beach towels provided
— tv with cable
— Pool and hot tub available till 10pm or midnight (somewhere around there: P)
— If somethings broken, or missing, services will come within the day
The penthouse suite has an elevator that goes straight into your suite, there is 4 bedrooms total and 3.5 bathrooms. There’s a wrap around lanai that was beautiful to just relax at.
Villas at Poipu is walking distance to a couple beaches and food areas. Best to rent a car though so that you may adventure else where. (:
I had a GREAT experience here. I highly recommend it (especially for a larger party)

Stayed in a 3 bedroom + Loft — what they call a 4 bedroom, 3 bath condo.

It was great. Could use some updating but the areas that needed to be nice, were– ie the kitchen. It was good enough and I felt like it was a very clean place to eat.
The living room was nice with a large TV and DVD player. The rooms were decent sized and well-​appointed. The sheets were older as were the bedspreads. The towels smelled sour. Like people left them wet and they didn’t air out. You cannot wash that stuff out– even w/bleach…and we actually tried it.
There was a spider problem in the top floor rooms. I found a few in the bedroom and the person staying in the loft had multiple HUGE spider bites. Huge. I know they were spiders because I saw them.
I didn’t use the pool as the beach is a 10 min walk and I am not interested in pools. The area seems very safe. Very very dark at night– no street lights. Lots of condos in the area.
The fitness room is adequate with a TV and enough equipment (nobody was ever in there) as is the public computer with printer for your boarding passes. The women who I met working in the office or clubhouse in Building 1 were so pleasant. BBQ’s outside each building and tables for having a picnic, BBQ. There are quiet hours and luckily none of our neighbors needed reminders.
You’ll need a car as there isn’t much within walking distance especially if you want to eat in your condo.
Overall was pleasant but they need new linen and some spider spraying.

This was a great experience staying at the Villas at Po’i Pu Kai. The condo I stayed in was amazing. Very clean and very well maintained.
Special mention to Lauren (property manager) who went above and beyond in making my stay here very positive.
Also, Steffanie was very accommodating and welcoming. She has great guest service skills.
No doubt I will be coming back to the Villas for my next visit to Kauai.
I highly recommend this property.

So Beautiful. So gorgeous. State of the art. Sub-​Zero refrigerator. even an in wall vacuum cleaner! Wow. all amenities of a Hotel.
