Parking is a little easier to find in this section of Point Richmond. Group friendly bar and grill. Menu has a lot to choose from, sandwiches, soup(clam chowder is amazing), salads, desserts, ect. Full bar, and has rugby themed décor from around the world(pretty freaking neat!) A nice place to have drinks, and watch football at the bar! Bartender is amazing too.

Love this place. Very homely and friendly. We had the poke tuna, chicken sandwich with peppers, and the chili, and it was all great. The service was top notch, even the busboy was attentive and polite. I am definitely coming back!

This place is great for both, food and drinks. I visited a few months ago and had the lamb burger for linner(late lunch/early dinner) which I reminisce about often! When we walked it, it was dark with an interesting, yet diverse mix of patrons. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I’m looking forward to going back.

Pretty good. Came here on Fri night with the kids and a couple of friends. Had chowder, side salad and fish n chips. Chowder not so bad… love New England chowda having lived in Boston for 10 years. Not quite the same but it’ll work. Id eat it again. Same with the side salad and fish n chips. Kids didn’t really like their pasta because they must back after they cook it so a couple of the noodles were burnt. They ate it all though and I had a few bites. Atmosphere is great. I can see coming again to hang out with friends to have some drinks or come back when it’s nice out to sit out on the patio. Only thing missing is a live band. Then I’d feel right at home.

WOW! What a burger. The hardest part is getting it in your mouth. They’re huge. ¾ pound burgers. Are you kidding me? Nice bar atmosphere if you choose. Friendly staff. Really take care of you… Make sure you don’t run out of water, ice tea and check regularly if you need anything. Love this place.

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon with a rather sizable party(6 adults 2 children) it was busy but they promptly pushed a couple tables together and brought out a high chair for my 10 mo old niece. Service was a little slow but understandable since it was very busy. Food was amazing and they were great with my nieces. I would definitely go back here.

I rarely drink or have the desire to go out and get drinks, but for some reason, upon visiting my sister, I felt like chatting and having drinks. Of course I referred to my good ‘ol friend Unilocal to consult about the best brews and bites in the Richmond area. We found the Up and Under and decided to give it a go. When walking up to the restaurant, I was happy to see a nice sized patio. Even though I was sure we weren’t going to use it this day, it being really cold, it’s nice to know of a cool spot that has nice outside seating. The inside is darling and a great rendition of an English pub. There are rugby uniforms posted about and a nice gold ceiling. All the place is made of wood and it has a rustic feel about it. We started with drinks. I got the spicy mule, being a fan of the moscow mule. It was GREAT! I loved the flavor combinations. It was spicy, tart, with just enough sweetness. I’m not a fan of really sweet drinks, so this was perfect. Not to mention that it really packed a punch with a great buzz after a few sips. My sister ended up returning her drink and getting a spicy mule as well. For my meal, I got the rib eye steak plate. I wish I would have stuck to my original plan of getting a sandwich because it was not worth the $ 26 for a whatever steak meal. The steak was bland, lacking seasoning and even meat flavor. It came with two asparagus stalks that were also unseasoned and somewhat under cooked. It also came with a loaded baked potato that was alright. I actually had ordered an additional cup of clam chowder that I ate and finished first because it tasted the best out of what was in front of me. My sister’s sandwich looked and tasted great. I need to stick to the rule that you should order based on where you are. I was in a pub, therefore I should have ordered and enjoyed pub food. I will return because I loved the drink and I know that the other food, apart from my expensive steak plate, was good.

Once again we found ourselves on the way back from the city to our cow town, in need of sunstanince and a cold beverage to wash it down. The friendliest staff in the state or possibly the entire country greet you as you walk in, table was clean enough to eat off, drinks were served quickly and were exactly as ordered. We always get an appetizer to start the saliveracal juices flowing and to find out where our appetites truly sit. The kiwis came out toot sweet and were tiggidy booh. That means perfect where I’m from. I fancied a steak and my bride a nice piece of chicken, the no pressure service was perfectly timed despite having a full house. The sign of a very well run restaurant from top to bottom. I don’t often get excited about a slice of cow but let me tell you, these folks know how to age and cook beef the right way. The mrs Poultry was also perfect, blessed by the patron saint of D boning I truly recommend the Rob for the white meat lovers. A great dinner with great company. ps: If you want to play trivia DONOT look at, refer to, fornicate with in any way and more importantly touch your phone. I was stupid enough half way through the game to answer a text message which nearly landed me a few miles away in San Quenton state penn. It’s a shame because I must have had at least 2 correct answers at that stage. Well done to the Up and Under for making a steak dinner into a great experience.

I tried having lunch there this afternoon around 3 pm, but after being pointedly ignored by the short, bald bartender for over 10 minutes, I left. How f-ing hard is it to acknowledge a customer’s presence and offer him or her a menu while you’re tending to other patrons? In addition, it’s a freaking bar. How hard is it to ask«can I get you a drink?» While you’re pouring beer for everyone else. I’ve been eating lunch there twice a week for months. I’d tell you idiots that I’m taking a break, but wtf, you didn’t care about my patronage while I was sitting there. BTW, any of the ladies are better bartenders than the ass that was working this afternoon.

Came here after work on a Tuesday night. Apparently, it was Trivia night and the place was full of sweet old folks. The food was just OK and the drinks were way overpriced. The servers are very nice and pleasant. I think that I can find more entertaining spots on my way home — Trivia just isn’t my thing!!!

Rugby World Cup day combined with Halloween, you would think the ladies working here would be able to lighten up, crack a smile, and try to pretend they enjoy their jobs. It was my first time visiting this pub and definitely my last. The food was tasty but the service left too much to be desired. Too bad. I would have come back for every All Blacksmatch, but I guess it’s Kezars from here on out.

BEWARE: One of the drunk tanks of Pt Richmond It was SOLOUD in this place that my husband and I could not have a conversation with each other. One of the screamers was… the female bartender. I ended up plugging my ears during the meal, and there wasn’t even a game on. The meal was also kinda atrocious, with the baked potato and potato chunks in the soup so undercooked that they were inedible. My husband did enjoy the burger though. Also, we went there because we Unilocaled«bbq» and this place came up, but… THEYDON’T SERVEBBQ. Hmmm. Probably best if you just stick to drinks and a game.

If you’re a rugby fan, this is the place for you. Every wall and ceiling is covered in rugby gear, jerseys, flags & pictures. Even if you’re not a fan, this is a place you can stop in and grab a drink & grub. I’m not from the area so this was a surprise find in Richmond. We came here for happy hour with several coworkers & friends. Everyone seemed to enjoy the happy hour menu: chicken tacos, sliders & cheese bread were yummy. We also liked the calamari appetizers. The wait staff was awesome! We were spread out over several tables and they kept our tabs separate so it was easier on everyone when it came to the bills.

We only went here once. I would go back but I haven’t had the opportunity yet. We had a good experience. The owner was there and he was friendly. I loved the fried pickles! Yum. I got the tuna melt and it was delicious. This place definitely had more of a bar feel which is fine if that’s what you like. I don’t drink alcohol so I was thankful for the seating on the other side away from the action.

Quite literally a diamond in the rough. While searching for a bar to watch the Warriors that had decent food options and wasn’t in the hipster hell of berkley, we came across the up and under pub. An old English, rugby style pub feel complete with a never ending stream of aging regulars that were mostly stumbling around hammered. I love it! Ha. The atmosphere is was brought me here but the menu is what’s bringing me back. No sloppy bar food here. This is some elevated gastro pub fare. The ahi poke appetizer had some serious flavor. I was a little nervous at first to order poke at a bar but I’m glad I did. Very good and very fresh. There were several sandwich options to chose from and both ours were fantastic. My «special» of the day chicken sandwich was way overly salty but delicious nonetheless. 1 star deduction for a fairly limited beer selection. They do have several craft beers to choose but there were only 2 that weren’t IPA’s.(I hate ipa’s) one was a chocolate beer and the other was not available. Though it worked out cause they had Boont amber ale, though it wasn’t on the menu.

I’ve been here twice now and my experience today was much worse than the first. The first time, they were either out of a bunch of stuff or the menu items were outdated and they were no longer available. I ordered the Rob and the chef accidentally spilled a bottle of pepper in my mashed potatoes and served them to me anyway. My experience today started off the same, they were out of a bunch of items and had the same damn outdated menu. I ordered fried pickles only for the clueless waitress with the braces to come back and say that they were all out. The I was told by the other bitch of a «head» waitress that they actually were taking them off the menu. I ordered the artichokes instead. No flavor whatsoever. I ordered the steak for my meal, scalloped potatoes, medium rare. I was served a well done steak and of course they didn’t have scalloped potatoes. I asked for steak sauce, they don’t provide steak sauce. Of course they don’t because the overly confident and overweight Bald guy who runs the place is an idiot who has the palate of a person who drinks water directly out of the Bay. He thinks steak sauce is overrated. Of course he does but can’t update the menu or keep items that are actually popular with his customers. But who cares about customers? Certainly not this place. I was dissatisfied with my meal and not once was I asked if they could do anything to fix it. Instead, watched as the waitresses and the bald guy make snarky faces as they passed each other when heading over to my table. My fiancé backed me up on our disappointed but stated that he liked his pasta. Can’t really fuck up pasta now can you? The bald guy’s response was that he’d take one win walked away. I was so upset at that their total lack of EVERYTHING that I told my fiancé I’d meet him in the car. Whe he came out he said that the bald guy offered to do right by us the next time. Are you freaking kidding me? We will never go back to that wanna be Thomas Kellers’ establishment again!
