Four2Nine Wine Bar

Updated review. Wow. Big disappointment. The food was ok, pricey, but the experience was sub-​par.
First the restaurant was very cold. There were only 2, other people there. The plates were stacked on the table with napkins and utensils like a fast food restaurant. There was only one woman working who had an attitude and did not act like she wanted to be there. She was the worst! I asked if there was heat and she didn’t know. She acted very disinterested. It is suppose to be a wine bar. They offer 2 red wines in glasses and a few more white, a couple rose and one sparkling. My husband mentioned the selection to the waitress/​hostess. She smirked and shrugged. We ordered a bottle of red wine. She uncorked it and poured 2 glasses without offering my husband a taste first which is the proper way to serve wine. Then she brings out my husband’s meal and I’m waiting for mine, which came out a few minutes later. Another no, no.
As far as service and class –I rate it a 0. The food was ok –I ordered a rack of lamb. The restaurant is only open Thurs-​Sat and is a sandwich shop during the day. Plus they also cater. Maybe they should stick to catering and sandwiches, which are quite good. The choices of good restaurants in Point Richmond are very few. When this place had wine pairings it was much better, friendlier and welcoming. Unfortunately, we won’t be back!

Wow, what has happened to this great neighborhood restaurant. No more wine flights. terrible service, we had to wait almost 45 minutes between our salad and entrée. Then one entrée came with another arriving a good ten minutes later. The pupusas were great, but the fish was not fresh and we had to send it back. This used to be a great place but something has happened. What?

I really like the food and the ambiance at this little place which is Louie’s in the daytime. I had succulent lamb chops which were a decent portion and an heirloom tomato salad. My son ordered the steak tacos which were delicious and a portion that was ample as he has a huge appetite. The service here is wonderful. You actually get a nice glass of wine (more than the usual 4 oz) and they gladly let you sample their wines. I have been here three times and am anxious to go back. I feel like I am on vacation in a little town somewhere in California.

Little Louie’s by day, and a delicious dinner spot by night. Their dinner is SO GOOD.
Portion sizes are so good for the price!
Wine selection is on point! And reasonably priced!
We had the portobello tempura slices– not oily, large, delicious sauce, on arugula.
Had the sliders and tacos– larger portions than we expected. Lamb and beef sliders SO good– lamb come with mint sauce. Tacos are spicy! Come with 3 and are large.
Carpaccio was deelish! My husband wished it came with capers but I thought it was great as is. So fresh!
I’d pick this spot over Hotel Mac in a heartbeat.

I love my new town. This restaurant is awesome. The steak is really really good. The two beautiful waitresses (Brenna and Michelle) are super friendly and provide an outstanding customer service. Michelle even took the time to teach me how to drink wine.

I was very pleased with this alternative to Hotel Mac. Came solo and was warmly received and enjoyed sitting at the small bar. Enjoyed a delicious kale caesar salad and smoked salmon, and was able to pair each plate well with wines from very nice selection of by-​the-​glass options. I will be back to check out the outside patio during some warm evening.

I want to start off by saying what a great experience. My partner and I went out on a Saturday Night. We heard that there was a great new wine bar off of Washington. So, we went to Point Richmond and found this quaint, little bar next to a Deli. When you walk in, your immediately greeted by the warm and cozy ambiance. I would describe it as provincial meets Napa. The candle lit tables add to the sexy feel that this savvy owner created. The wine and food was great. I had the Rosè paired with Portabella Fritters and Lamb Sliders. I wish my stomach was bigger and the night longer. There was also the option of purchasing wine flights with an assortment of discontinued vintages and other savory wines. A great option for those seeking to try a variety of different wines. I definitely recommend this bar to anyone looking for a great night in Point Richmond.

I visit many wineries and wine bar but i decided to visit this one since it was in the city i live in and i go to Hotel mac across the street at least once a week. Keep in mind I’m a young African American female (that not my race matte, but i felt like it did to them) soon as i walked into the door everyone looked at me as if it was a sign on the door that said whites only. The waitress Michelle asked me if i wanted to sit outside or at the only table that they had open so i took the outside seating then decided to judt sit at the bar. It took about 8 minutes before someone addressed me then i notice they’re were having an wine tasting and was pouring glasses for other guests to sample but nobody asked if i wanted to sample anything. I wanted to just leave cause i didn’t feel welcome but I’m not one to give up easy. So i order a glass of wine and sat there and watch the waitress Michelle, she seemed to be new and wasn’t sure of herself but that’s just my opinion, who cares! Nobody came by to ask if i was ok or anything until the other waitress noticed i was on Unilocal by then it was too late. With that said I’ll keep going to hotel mac ehen i just want a glass of wine or drive to san refeal, napa, or sonoma next time i want to have a glass of wine at a wine bar. I hate my experience was bad cause i like supporting local business and four to nine would of been a great local for my wine club to meet occasionally. The wine was good i must admit but my service was horrible

Tucked away in the quaint little town of Point Richmond you will find Four2Nine. A small, cute wine bar to match it’s cute name. They have a vast wine selection offering wine by the bottle, glass, and flight. The average cost of wine by the glass is about $ 10. I had a glass of Cabernet and a red blend, both were outstanding. To eat I was in the mood for a light meal, and decided on the heirloom tomato salad. This salad kicked off my first day of Spring perfectly with its mix of vibrant tomatoes, mozzarella, and prosciutto. Great spot for a casual meal and vino if you are in the area.

My friends took me this little gem and I was impressed with the quality of food. So many restaurants focus on huge quantities over quality, but this place definitely does not.
We came in the evening when it turns into a wine bar and ordered the cheese plate and the smoked salmon carpaccio. I was apprehensive to try to the salmon but it was delicious on bread with some cheese and jam. It was more than enough to share and at the end we also shared a small molten chocolate cake that was ultimate perfection and nipped our sweet tooth. We left very satisfied but not dragged down from eating.
The only negative thing I would have to say is one of the water glasses had a lipstick stain on it, but the waiter immediately brought us a new glass when I mentioned it to her. (I have a thing for having a very clean glass when at a restaurant!)
Overall, I fell in love with the concept of a small place that focuses on quality and intimacy. Its also a major plus that you don’t have to drive into the hectic city to enjoy a place like this. And lastly, this would be a hit date place because there were many first dates going on from my observations :).

Live in the neighborhood and really enjoy this place. Great wines and food. We had the heirloom tomato salad, which was delicious and the rack of lamb also very good. The pupusa is always a great choice. I am so glad we have this option in the point!

My first time going. I will surely be going back. Great food. The people were exceptionally nice. I recommend it for a nice romantic dinner or hanging out with your girlfriends.

Wine flights are always well thought out. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. The food is varied and amazing.
We have been there often enough that we have tried just about everything and enjoyed it all. The Papusas are surprisingly good.
This is a place you look forward to all week.

I’m sorry but the owner of this joint is a witch. She will never get my business again.
I’m beginning to understand that she is clearly unhappy in her life. It makes me sad in a way. Go see a therapist and come back to your store happier, with better customer service.

This place is really nice. I was at the post office across the street and saw a sign mention this wine bar. I looked through the window to check things out and the person prepping the place told me to come back between 6 and 7. So, I (we) came back around seven. Like I said, the place is really nice. Great atmosphere, everyone seemed friendly and relaxed. The waitress was very nice and pleasant, too.
Looking at the menu, there’s not too much to choose from, but the wine selection had enough variety to make thing very interesting. The first thing that caught my eye were the sliders. (I love sliders :-)). We ordered two beef slider plates, one lamb slider plate, and an order of the beef tacos… WOW!!! The beef sliders were spicy but great! The lamb slider were tasty and very well cooked. The beef tacos were the hit of the night.
The wine glasses or glass bowls were cool. I’m definitely getting those wine for future parties. I HIGHLY recommend this place. This place will become my «regular» spot to wine and dine.

This is a great little spot. Has dinner and beautiful wines and ambiance. This place is a restaurant during the day but a wine bar at night, great way to utilize the space. Try it for a glass of wine and a plate antipasto or dinner on a friday night.
Point Richmond doesn’t have much, but thats the beauty of it.

Very nice ambiance and great food! The steak tacos are great, as was the cauliflower appetizer. The rest of the menu looks awesome… I’ll be back again soon to check out the other options :)

I love this place. Definitely the best food in Point Richmond. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. Even when they get busy, they remain consistently accommodating. Alway come here when I can.

Food is really delicious! Worth trying everything on their menu. My fav one is steak tacos — best tacos I’ve ever tried! Taste is just perfect! When you’re really hungry go for a steak and/​or fish on their menu — both are yummy!
Wine: They do have a great selection of both International and Local wines, Assortment changes periodically. You have a great opportunity to discover new wine for yourself!
The service has always been top-​notch! All employees are very attentive, provide best customer experience!
When I am visiting the Pt. Richmond area will come back here over and over again.
