Just as a warning to those ordering the lobster, the cost is $ 24.00 per pound and they say the minimum size lobster is two pounds. My lobster was 1 and ¼ lbs., at best, and I was charged $ 48.00. The Filet was ordered medium rare and it came out medium. I mentioned to the waitress that the lobster was not 2 lbs as advertised, but she said the chef weighed all the lobsters and it was 2 lbs. I’m just saying that I was very disappointed and not only will I not frequent this restaurant again, but will advise others to pick another place.

Food is very good and the service was great. Reasonable party packages as well. Beautiful waterfront view!

After moving back to Long Island, and seeing commercials for this place all the time, I was excited when I found out we were going here for my grandmother’s birthday. If it’s on TV, it has to be good, right? How wrong I was. The service was fine, nothing to complain about, but the food. Oh. My. God. Probably the worst assortment of seafood I’ve had in a really long time. The baked clams were all breadcrumbs, and the«paella» was full of kielbasa(??) swimming in a pool of salty, oily broth that filled half the bowl. The stuffed flounder was almost inedible due to salt content. The only redeeming quality is the baskets of free bread they provide. The view is also nice, but not worth the $ 25pp+ you’ll spend here. Never again.

I came here for Sunday brunch and was disappointed with the service. I understand it gets busy(I’ve worked in a restaurant myself) but our waitress was not attentive, at all. Also, the waitress over charged my credit card. Glad I kept my customer receipt bc this was very upsetting. I did get my money back after speaking with one of the managers but this is a horrible reflection on the restaurant, which is terrible bc the food was good. I’m sure not all of the wait staff is the same, but I was not happy and will not be returning.

After months of coming up with a location and careful planning, we decided on Fisherman’s Catch for my sister-in-law’s bridal shower. It’s one of her favorite restaurants in the Long Beach area; her husband to be and her come here all the time for the food and the view. We found a date that worked for the bridal party and for friends and family: January 23rd. The winter storm Jonas happened. The days leading up to the shower, we all started to get nervous. My mother-in-law called the restaurant and they offered to have it the night before for no extra charge. Two days before, they changed the entire menu for us form a brunch to a dinner, accommodated our party in the back room on a new night, and did it all without batting an eye. The staff were friendly, helpful, and constantly taking care of all our needs. They were friendly and funny and clearly happy to be serving our party. The manager checked in throughout the night to make sure we were having a good time and everything was as we wanted it. I am a vegetarian so I did not eat any seafood but the salads, penne alla vodka, eggplant rolatini, and steamed veggies were great! What could have turned into a disappointing situation, turned out to be an incredible evening! The bride to be was floored by everything and was so happy. Thank you Fisherman’s Catch!

the only reason i went here was because i had a groupon for 50 bucks worth of food. Some reviewers state it needs to have more variety. You are in point lookout at a place called«fisherman’s catch»…you should expect an extensive seafood menu. Don’t come here if you don’t. I would personally never order steak from a seafood place, or any place on the water for that matter. The service was great, our waitress(Amy) was so nice and helped me pick out an amazing entrée(her recommendation). I got the flounder with spinach and feta and my husband got the teriyaki swordfish. Both dishes were filled with flavor, the sides complimented nicely with the fish and we got clams oreganata as an app that were pretty good as well. the view is very pretty, i love where they put the christmas tree outside! the décor is subtle and intimate at the same time. There was hardly anyone there but that’s bc its winter time, the place is swamped in the summer! my only problem with this place are the prices. The flounder and swordfish were so overpriced, a ribeye for 42? its cheaper at a steakhouse! i don’t see myself going back without a groupon/deal/GC.’

I think they are making a huge mistake. For the second year in a row, 14 of us dined on New Year’s Eve. This year we got burned. Prices are higher than we remember before and the management has dispensed with a salad served with the entrée. Accordingly, everything is now ala carte. Moreover, the plates seem smaller than before so we are receiving less food and higher prices. None of the 14 wants to return next year and many of us who dine at Fisherman’s Catch during the year will cease coming.

This is my second time here. The food is great. They revamped the menu and took off a few of my favorite things. The pork chop is gone and that was amazing. The prices also went up quite a bit. If you are looking for a place on the water for special occasions than this is great. Can no longer afford to go on the regular though.

If you decide to eat here, it is for the view and location. If you want real, excellent seafood, go to City Island. I ate at Fisherman’s Catch because I went with a group. If you are the odd person, who is a vegetarian, or just does not care for seafood, then you have slim pickin’s. So I ordered the one past dish, but of course it was pasta w/shrimp. We were paying for the shrimp regardless; so it was put on the side for others to consume. How about some variety? The soup, New England Clam Chowder was FAIR. The desserts were very good. The owners know they have a good location, so they are counting on that.

more buck does not mean better quality. i mean, it’s the food ain’t bad, it’s edible but nobody likes over cooked shrimp, mushy blueberries in their salad and«eehhh.» tasting courses. IMO it has one of the best spot and lay out among the restaurants in Point Lookout, this id give to them but food is just average.

What is funny is how lopsided the reviews are for this location. You either love Fisherman’s Catch or you hate it. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years and this past time was the best yet. In the past, we have thought of the menu as being a bit… Limited. However, they have recently redone the menu and we were all torn between several items(which in my mind is a sign of a good menu, rather than having just one or two items that actually appeal to you). The appetizers of fried calamari and little-neck baked clams were outstanding. I have always been a fan of the fried calamari as it is so light and the marinara has a nice peppery heat to it. I enjoyed a tremendous order of fried shrimp, there were about 16 on my plate and they were about extra large to jumbo sized. One of my parents had a flounder stuffed with feta and spinach, great combination — but not with so much feta that it overpowered everything. My other parent got blackened sea scallops that had slight hints of Cajun spices on it. Dessert was fantastic. The tortuffo and the apple crisp put us all over the edge. No late night snacking for any of us that night! I also highly recommend that you get one of their specialty coffees, especially the Mexican with Kahlua or the Jamaican with Tia Maria & hazelnut liquers. Granted this place can be pricey, but it is a fantastic place on the water that is perfect for any special event with a small group like family or friends.

I recently returned for my birthday dinner and was completely impressed again with the new menu and the seafood. My family has been here twice with me and we absolutely adore it. I usually come on the weekends for happy hour and sit out on the water for hours. I mean $ 2.50 beers and $ 4 glasses of wiine!!! Amazing! The wait staff is great and the seafood doesn’t compare to any other in Point Lookout or Long Beach. I am obsessed with the Crab Legs but I have had the lobster twice now and its always cooked perfectly. Late night bar food is also great. The WINGS are my favorite! The sauce is the best! Nothing beats watching the sunset outside on the water!

The service was so bad at this restaurant that I started a Unilocal account just to review it and warn others not to come here. On Wednesday my family and I had come here for my mother’s birthday. We made reservations ahead of time for the 6 of us. When we got to the restaurant we were seated in the bar area in a table that was randomly placed in the corner. When we complained the restaurant manager, Joyce, was so rude to us. She was unapologetic and her exact words were«You reserved a table and this is a table». She said that if we wanted to be seated in the main dining room we would be required to wait an hour and a half. If it hadn’t been my mother’s birthday I would’ve walked out then. If we had known where we were going to be seated we would’ve made reservations at a different restaurant. The waitress was equally as rude and apathetic. She wasn’t friendly and didn’t smile. She would ask if we were ok and would walk away before we could answer. Twice we had to shout at her to come back because we wanted more drinks. Our food took about an hour to be brought to us. She didn’t apologize for the wait or offer us any explanation. When the food did arrive, the fish was dried out and it seemed the food had been sitting under a heating lamp for a while. For dessert, she asked my father and I what we wanted because it was included with our meal; however, she didn’t ask anyone else at the table if they wanted dessert or if anyone wanted coffee. We had been here several years ago and it has really gone downhill since we had last been here. It seems as if they expanded the capacity of the restaurant without thinking about other logistics such as creating a larger kitchen, additional parking, and adding more staff. While the staff may have been overwhelmed it was completely unacceptable to be treated so poorly; especially when the bill ended up being about $ 50 a person. I don’t ever plan to come back to this restaurant and I would discourage others to come here.

We came in here for my mothers birthday dinner and I was quite disappointed with the service and the food. While I admit that the view is amazing, the service and quality of the food could not live up on their end. **Service** The server was very slow the entire night and it took him a very long time just coming to us to order our drinks or even great the table. It got even worse when the birthday girl asked if they could substitute a side dish and the waiter told her no and that it was a Saturday night and the menu is the menu. The restaurant wasn’t that busy and there were numerous empty tables around us so I was a little surprised they wouldn’t accommodate her. The remainder of the evening mostly was spent talking and waiting for the server to reappear from the back. Not a great experience in my opinion **Food*** As for the food, I had they surf and turf and the meat was very fatty, which given the price, you would think that it would have been a higher quality of meat. My sister had the salmon which she thought was a little dry and lacked flavor. Unfortunately I would have to say that Red Lobster has better food. I definitely would recommend heading somewhere else if you are a foodie, but if a view is the only criteria on your list then this is definitely the place, unfortunately it wasn’t enough for me.

We did not have reservations but we were able to sit down promptly in a table with amble space and an extra chair,(we are a group of 9, Service was alright, the time it took for the food to get to the table was just Terrible, I ordered a Caesar salad that came tasteless with an entangled hair, I sent it back and ordered a clam chowder and a mahi mahi, the clam chowder was ok, it did not contain bacon Which was great for one of our friends who is a vegetarian, the mahi mahi was very overlooked and tasted like dry cardboard hard chicken breast. String beans were good and crispy, everyone else’s plate was mediocre, nothing special.

The food was okay but buyer bewared when going to this restaurant. Particularly with a party of 5 or more. I went w/4 of my friends to celebrate a birthday and when the bill came they not only put an automatic 18% gratuity tip on the bill but they screwed us even more adding insult to injury by taxing the entire bill including the tip. I’ve been going to restaurants even nicer then this that were also on the water and never have I been taxed on a tip. Much less have I ever been charged a gratuity when our party is only 5 people. We all felt as if we were taken. I’m writing this review in the hopes others won’t have to endure the same fate. Also as far as the rice is concerned they do NOT tell you that corn is in it. I’m not allowed to have any corn, not even corn flakes and to just say it is «Seasoned rice» is NOT good enough. I could’ve been physically made ill by this. They’re very fortunate I wasn’t. I did NOT eat the rice once I realized that it had corn in it. So buyer beware this is one restaurant we will NEVER step foot in again and I recommend if you’re thinking of going here you simply rethink that!

Just ok — definitely not worth the price of admission. We were with a large group and this was pretty much the consensus of the group. The appetizer(baked clams) was the only thing that we really enjoyed. I can’t say i’ll be back.

This place was just ok for me. Mind you, it wasn’t my idea to come here, however I’m always happy to try new things. I had the lobster tails oreganata which was actually pretty good, and Noemi had the Asian shrimp pasta, or something to that effect. It was alright, but missing a little something. They have quite a few good beers on tap, so that’s always good. And the location is just beautiful, especially when you get to watch the sun set over the water. Our server was really sweet and attentive too, so no complaints there. But overall it was just ok for me. I’d probably stop back in here at some point in the future, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
