Fact: the bar offered me a gift card to come back. This is in December. I accepted, this card has yet to materialize. what a joke.

Great for a nice summer evening outing, but the food was just OK. I went on an early Saturday evening with my bf, and they had a DJ and everything which added to the ambiance. I would return for a night out, but not for dinner.

I came here with friends for dinner and drinks after on a Saturday night in September. My overall experience was a three but might be different if just going for the drinking. So first what I didn’t like about this place. The layout was a bit confusing, we accidentally seated ourselves in the restaurant because it wasn’t clear there was a host. Food was eh, overpriced and not that great. Service was okay. The benefits of this place: the drinks are really good. Music is pretty good too. Didn’t experience people’s smoke from cigarettes coming towards us which was also a benefit. Definitely preferred the dancing part of the night to the eating. I would come back here again, but probably only to drink and dance.

First time experience. Came for a great celebrity’s performance as last soree’e of the summer. Onced approached it’s breathtaking décor is truly amazing. With 80+ degree beautiful weather for mid September afternoon environment makes you feel like you’re on an island. The day party experience also had live DJ music going so well and vibing that on goers paid the private event fee., just too have a closer experience. Really like how they placed the bar directly in the center., of Tropix., with its open plan it allows you a great view no matter where you’re seating. Especially with tables options seating on their waterfront. Lounges area with high chairs and tables along the side of Tropix give you more space too mingling with other guest. Everything was clean from the décor to their bathrooms. Staffing was very professional and friendly. Happy Hour was a plus. Food was excellent. Party guest involved ordered: Calamari, chicken wings., crab cake sandwich with waffle fries. Seared tuna and hambuger. We were so hungry we forgot to take a pictures. Lol. Food was that goooooood. Seasoned well. Presentation was colorful great on my pallets.

Good live music daily. Relaxing atmosphere by the water and drinks are solid. Bar is a decent size with a good crowd. Food is alright but prices are a bit steep. I ordered a Caesar Salad($ 14) and it was nothing special. Good to share between two people. My boyfriend ordered the Kung Pao calamari($ 15) and that was a hit! Huge portion! For dinner, I ordered a basic grilled chicken sandwich, also $ 15 that came with waffle fries and I wasn’t impressed. Bun was either burnt or stale, bacon I felt was microwaved and chicken was OK. It also came with cheddar cheese so initially i thought it would be a juicy sandwich but it was super dry. My boyfriend ordered a burger and you really can’t mess up a burger, he enjoyed it. The staff was super friendly and upbeat. The manager or owner was constantly in sight making sure everything was running smoothly. I definitely recommend this place for drinks and music, not so much for the food. I could be wrong though, and other dishes might be better than what we got but from my experience I will definitely eat before coming here!

Horrible service, cold food, gummy calamari, and $ 10-$ 12 watered down tiny drinks. Never again! I had high hopes for Tropix, being that it is always packed, and so many people rave about it. Negative! I will never again be returning. I rather deal with the over crowding, and over priced fake seafood at City Island then drive to this place. We were seated all the way to the back of the restaurant, and waited 20 minutes before asking for our server. When we asked the server who was waiting on the table right next to us if she also happened to be our server, she responded with«I’m not sure, no one told me I had a table.» Ok? When she returned to actually greet us and take our orders, it was almost 10 mins later.(30 mins. total) My party and I ordered appetizers, dinner, and drinks. Our apps and meals all came out together, and our nasty watered down drinks came almost after we were finished eating. Our ditsy server never came to check on anything, and took another 15 minutes to bring us the check after we asked for it. I then handed her my credit card, which she PROCEEDEDTOLOSE! She came back to the table claiming that I never handed her my card, and that is when I completely lost my s*it! When I asked for a manager, I was told that she was busy, and miraculously, she found my card a few minutes after that. I will never, ever, EVER come back here after the tasteless service I received.

1st the good. Great location. Great décor. Really nice outdoor bar and live music. Now the bad. I woul not go there again. Service sucks. Over priced drinks. Food is fair but over priced. What a shame. It has so much potential but falls short. I have. Been there several times and have tries to give them the opportunity to impress, they always fall short. Took 35 min to get our first drink when ther was nobody in the place. Then another 45 min for the second. Appiterzers came out wrong. No plates no sauces. 1hr latrt they said dobu need plates? Really. Get jon taffer to make this place over. Really bad service.

OMG… A bartender who doesn’t know how to make a Martini and gets insulted because I didn’t want it with Margarita mix and lime juice. BTW: I asked for it for it «straight up» and got green glop in a plastic cup filled with ice.

Everybody was really nice here. It was a huge place and they had really good music. The bouncers had a sense of humor for once and were really caring when my friend accidentally fell walking out. There was a $ 5 cover charge, but it was definitely worth it here than other bars that had covers.

The drinks are pricey and weak, the clientele is somehow more douchey than Bracco’s. They have an area with sand and Adirondack chairs, and the bar is huge and wraps around. It’s fun watching drunk cougars trying to twerk to the DJ’s music. And I hate when bars on the Mile charge cover. This place even has bottle service if you wanna waste your money. Tropix is trying to be a club but come on, you’re surrounded by bars that serve the same drinks for a cheaper price. However, the bathrooms are cleaner than most places on the mile.

When my friends and I got here on a Fridaywas happy hour which consisted of regular liquor like vodka, and beer for like $ 4 I believe. It was a good amount of people there and it wasn’t too packed to where you couldn’t breath. We walked over behind the bar and sat in the sand area which was pretty cool because it gave it that beach feel. We then proceeded to get food in which you have to go to another area. The food was good I got chicken tenders and sweet potato fries. I know the next time I go back I’m getting something with seafood in it. But the view was really nice since you’re right next to the water and there were also palm trees. The waiters were really cool.

Came Sunday afternoon with friends and had an all around nice time. I’ve only been to the nautical mile once before many years ago for dinner so I was definitely new to the scene. Upon entering, I was immediately impressed with the environment. Really fun, lively, huge open area, live music, centrally located bar, ample lounge seating, an area of sand, dining area on the water. Looked like vacation. 3pm on a Sunday and a lot of people were wasted. You need to really be into this kind of scene to enjoy Tropix. A few of us got the«great south bay» — basically a margarita with some strawberry daiquiri on top. It was pretty good, we all enjoyed it. Food — the food was okay but definitely overpriced for what it was. My friends got the fried calamari, chicken sandwich, lobster roll, and Caesar salad pizza with shrimp. I got the Caesar salad with chicken, it was average at best. Sweet potato fries were also good. My friend particularly liked her lobster roll, so if you’re into that I’d recommend trying it. Service — our waitress was nice but service was very, very slow. Everyone seemed overwhelmed/stressed/miserable. Maybe it was because of the sun/90 degree weather. Regardless, everything took way too long. It wasn’t that big of a deal because we were sitting outside and enjoying the atmosphere. I suppose people come here for the scene more than anything else. Whatever. After we ate, we went back toward the open area/bar section which was fun. If my friends want to come here again, I would, but not for food. Parking situation — We parked in the lot for Tropix across the street. It’s $ 10 and later on in the day it goes up to $ 20. Some random dude, about our age came out of a car by the entrance to collect the $ 10 from us. It was odd and funny. Anyways, there’s also street parking around if you’re lucky to find it. Also, not sure what time it starts but there’s a $ 10 cover in the evening.

I would NEVER go back to this place! I went on a Thursday to meet with some girlfriends and arrived at 10pm to find that they charge $ 10 at the entrance(for both men and women). What bar charges women at the door? That completely threw me OFF as I’ve been to many high-end venues in and around NYC& always enjoy complimentary entrance. Well, I’m here and end up paying the ridiculous cover charge. I find that my friends — which are all women(and not VIP) to find that they were not charged a cover at the entrance. I was appalled! Then, I use the rest room. I over hear women talk how they were charged $ 5 at the entrance. Now, that really was upsetting as the bouncers at the door are SELECTIVE with the prices they want to set for their guests at the entrance. I asked to speak to the manager and in 5 minutes. a big bully manager aka the Bouncer at the door came by. I expressed my concern and he said everyone pays. His tone was rude and condescending ! I mentioned my friends did not pay — as well as what the other guests mentioning they paid $ 5. He was LOUD& stating that Everyone pays — which is not true !!! He abruptly walked away. Really !!! The level of customer service in this venue is Poor! Or they forgot it is the customers to bring them the business. Its obvious that they Milk their customers for their money. The bartenders look miserable here. Hmmm… I wonder why ! Check this out !! They can’t even pay their DJ the full time the venue is open because at 11pm — surprise, surprise !! The DJ is getting his wires together and wrapping up for the night. Yup! At 11pm the DJ stops playing music. Then music was streaming from an IPOD. What a JOKE! I left and took my Money and business elsewhere. No, I do not recommend this place to anyone or to any of the many people I know. PLEASE !! Give your money to another venue who will show their customer some appreciation. Go somewhere you can get your money’s worth !!!

After spending the day at the Nautical Mile we end up here for a late dinner and drinks. The place was crowded and they had a $ 10 cover charge. The wait to have dinner was super long so we just headed to the bar and got some food there. I tried the burger and chicken fingers. The burger was pretty good and the chicken was average at best. I really enjoyed that they were playing all types of music and the crowded seem to be having a great time. I cant remember the bartenders name but he was super cute and very attentive. Since this was my first time here he answered a lot of my questions. This is a great place to come hang out on a summer day or night.

Was looking for a place to end our night and ended up here. The music seemed decent from what we could tell outside. They didn’t really card anyone but admittance was $ 10. We went around back to see if we could grab dinner but the wait was an hour and a half smh. We managed to grab 2 chairs at the bar and ordered drinks. After about 10 min we realized they have bar food and ordered chicken fingers, a cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger and fries came out quickly but the chicken fingers took forever. I believe that they don’t have a good system to get food from the back kitchen to the correct customer outside. The drinks are $ 10 and up so it can get pricey quick. My cheeseburger was good but the bun was touch bread. I ate the burger with only one side of the bun. The fries were good, waffle seasoned fries. Chicken tenders were good but how can you mess that up lol. They played a wide range of music which included Spanish music. It was a laid back atmosphere. The lady in the bathroom was smoking up a storm which I didn’t like. I would say all around about a 3.5

I came here last night for my sisters birthday. The only thing that was great was our server Samantha. Otherwise the stuffed baked clams had no flavor whatsoever, the mussels were over cooked & the fried mozzarella was lacking mozzarella! The band was fun, they played a lot of old & new favs. Maybe a drink & dance… Otherwise I won’t be coming here for food. I’m giving it 3 stars for service. Our server deserves 5 stars unfortunately the food lost a lot of points.

Great spot to hangout as the sun sets over Long Island! The restrooms are super clean, the waitstaff is friendly, and the club it self has a good vibe. The food is really taste as well! They should consider making there happy hour club wide instead of at the bar only. Most people we saw snuck their happy hour drinks up to the non bar areas anyhow and this caused a little bit of an issue for others who didn’t know the rules and had to pay for full price drinks in the same area. Otherwise this place is cool, and the managers are on point! I highly recommend Tropix on the mile!

When summer is in the air everyone is looking for the hottest outdoor restaurant scene to conquer. I had made reservations a few days before I came here to guarantee me a seat. I joined one of my favorite Unilocalers & amazing friend«Sabrina B.» As we drove upon the mile it was packed, every restaurant had lines out the door! We found parking across the street in their own parking lot which was $ 15(no valet). The ambience of the entire place makes you want to come back each & every weekend! We were seated in about 20 minutes to the fact of how chilly it was & outdoor seating was a no go for us(too cold). We were seated indoors which I felt was a private dining room & they had to throw a few tables & chairs in there to accommodate customers who were not willing to sit outside. Our waiter’s name was Marcelo, he was very nice & attentive to all our needs! I ordered the chicken sandwich pesto sandwich with waffle fries; which were amazing! My friend got the mozzarella moons & baked calms, she raved over how good her clams were. We also ordered 2 blue long islands; OMG after the 1st sip I felt like I was on a high wave. I love that the amount of alcohol was strong for the priced we pay. The general manager was also very helpful, always came back and check up on us! The owner he is a sweet heart, their establishment tries to make everyone happy, meets everyone’s needs & security is always on hand in case things get out of hand. Music shuts off at 11pm & they stay open till 2am Also for people with allergic needs they keep shellfish separate! The owner just took over E. B Elliots which I look forward to going too. All in all, you must check this place out. It an amazing summer spot with great music, the exterior makes you feel like your on the beach. If your ever on the mile be sure to pass by!

I really wanted to enjoy this place but couldn’t, for the simple reason that this place SERIOUSLY hurts your wallet. Drinks are just way overpriced — I came here with a group of friends and after one round of drinks we’re like, «looks like we need to finish our night some place else». Besides, the live band that was playing sucked-ass. I mean what do the businesses on the Nautical Mile expect? that only rich patrons with fake tans who drive ferraris hangout there? overcharge everyone because you’re by the water? –EFFYOU!
