The chicken fajitas and guacamole were delicious. The whole pinto beans were dry. Tortilla chips too greasy. What made my decision to not return to this restaurant was the lack of clean bathrooms and just general drabbiness of the facility.

I ordered 3 chicken enchiladas smothered in chili verde. What I got, and happily ate, were 3 chili verde enchiladas smothered in, you guessed it, chili verde. I definitely cannot complain about getting 3 yummy enchiladas, rice and beans for 8 bucks! I think I’ll come back next time I’m in town.

Actually very good food. Traveling through and found good reviews on Unilocal.Had the steak and shrimp fajitas, rice and beans. $ 10.50 could not beat the price. Tortillas are home made. They serve a bowl of beans and green salsa and chips to start. Really good and the service was great.

Are you headed through Pocatello? Do yourself(and your wallet) a favor and stop by El Herradero. Just ate? Stop anyway and grab a taco at least. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I know, and I’ve eaten at a good number in eastern Idaho, Boise, and Salt Lake City. The looks(both outside and inside) won’t wow you, but the staff is extremely friendly and, as I mentioned, the food can’t be beat. The green salsa and bean dip(served complementary if you’re ordering a meal) alone is worth the trip in. I usually get the steak, carnitas, or spicy pork taco, but anything off the a la carte menu is delicious. I have less experience with the rest of the menu. Finally, if you’re a local, try the food trucks. The food’s the same quality, but even cheaper, if you can imagine.

This place gets five stars for being the best authentic Mexican food in town. Fast and courteous service. Consistently kicking out hot yummy food. Great homemade salsa and chips. This is a review for the one on Jefferson. I have not been to the other locations because why risk a good thing. Tacos al pastor with rice and beans to die for. Lots of cilantro and onion and flavor. Great chili verde as well which is how I gauge my rating on Mexican food. A must try. A bit rugged and loud inside but you’ll be glad you came.

We were in search of good Mexican in Pocatello and found it! The food was authentic and delicious. The chips and salsa were delicious, too.

Get the 2 churros for $ 2.50! Also, the cream chicken stuff is great. Not real big though So don’t expect a ton of room

Just enjoyed a very tasty chicken taco salad. Excellent salsa. Combine this with a pacifico and I almost feel like I’m on a beach in Mexico.

I got take out, and it wasn’t all that good. Maybe if I go in and eat there, it would be better.

Wow! Driving through Pocatello looking for quick and relatively inexpensive alternative to fast food… And we hit GOLD. So good! We will deforest stop here again. Between the three of us we had the spicy pork soft taco, two pork tamales, and the $ 6 special of two steak enchiladas. We got three drinks and the total was $ 25, and a $ 5 tip. Really really great food, fast friendly service,& fun atmosphere.

I am very particular with my Mexican food. I like it authentic and authentic. They do a very good job of keeping the food very authentic and delicious. There are two locations in town and a truck. I prefer the location close to Pocatello High School. The service is great and the food is awesome.

Weird spot can be difficult to park as they share a parking lot with a gas station. People will double park and park you in without hesitating. I ordered the colorado burrito the food is amazing and the price is even better. The service was fine except i didn’t know you just got up to pay. My mistake I guess but I sat there for a while waiting. The parking and spotty service are the only reasons they didn’t get a 5 if I would have gotten take out it may have been a 5 star.

I didn’t actually go to the restaurant, but the food truck by Outer Limits. A late breakfast was just the ticket and for just $ 5 I got a breakfast burrito(sausage and ham) that would have been enough for 2 breakfasts. It was just a touch dry for my taste, but the salsa provided was able to alleviate that tiny issue. Can’t wait to try another one!

The tamales, taco’s, and burritos have never let me down! The staff is very polite, attentive, and friendly. Limited seating — but I’ve never regretted waiting for a table. I LOVE this restaurant!

Decent Mexican eats at incredibly reasonable prices. I ordered their chicken nachos(minus the refried beans). The chicken was flavorful, the portion was ample(I couldn’t finish it) and with a nice sprinkling of cilantro atop it – overall, a solid dish. My dining companion got their veggie burrito, which he also reported as solid. Two children in our party ordered their horchata which they enjoyed with much lip smacking delight. The ambiance is all sombreros and mariachi music(as it should be). The service was a bit slow. And, apparently, you just go to the counter to pay when your done as we waited a bit and no bill ever materialized. The price was right though – 4 of us were amply fed for $ 28.

Best ever! While there’s not much reason to be in Pocatello for me, I would come back just to eat here again! I’m from Texas and know good mexican food. If I could give this place a bonus star I would!

Excellent food. Had the«Diablo Pollo» which had a nice authentic flavor with some good heat behind it. Rice and beans were solid but not out of this world. However, when I come back It will be near impossible to not order a plethora of the spicy pork tacos. Friggin awesome. Perfectly tenderized and seasoned on a fresh corn tort… simply amazing. Tough parking and awkward seating but I think it adds to the ambiance.

Surprisingly good food in Pocatello. We drive up to Rexburg for memorial day each year and this year we decided to stop here for dinner. I had the wet chimichangas with pastor(spicy pork). To start off they give you chips, beans, and salsa verde, all of which was fantastic. The basket was a little light for the three of us, but that was fine because the meals were huge. The menu has a good selection of familiar and some not so familiar Mexican food. The prices are fantastic. I didn’t notice anything above $ 12, and a lot of the combos were in the $ 6-$ 10 range. Our order consisted of a wet chimichanga combo(served with rice and beans), a shrimp dish, and three or four tacos. The check was only $ 23.85, a great deal for the amount and quality of food. Service was okay. The food came out in a decent time, but there was a point where all three of our empty drinks went unnoticed for 7 – 10 minutes, which can be a killer with spicy food. The ambience was also okay. The decorations give a nice touch to the building, but the seats are a little too upright and hard. Piñatas and paintings cover the walls. The one huge negative for me was the noise. It’s fairly loud and crowded, and the chairs make a ear shattering screech when someone scrapes them across the floor. The food was fantastic. We weren’t expecting much from a small place in a small town, but we all left happy. The rice and beans on the side were great, especially with some of the salsa verde drizzled on them. My main course was excellent. I think that about covers it. The food is great and definitely worth a try if you’re passing through town! Bye bye!
