Who would’ve thought that that ideal Ice Sculpture place could also be the ideal Farmer’s Market place! Spring, Summer, Fall, this spot does it all! The Plymouth Farmer’s Market starts with seedlings and flowers, moves into the freshest produce around and during the growing season and then, big finish, with mum’s, pumpkins and other colorful late season goods. This well established market includes many local farmers, vendors and food providers, all with a variety of fresh, quality items to make the community a better, healthier and friendlier place to live and work. Come on down every Saturday, May through October, in and by Kellogg Park in beautiful downtown Plymouth, MI. You’ll be glad you did! 5 Stars and I’ll be back…

Nice Famers Market. There are many vendors in and round«The Gathering» downtown. It can get pretty crowded. It’s kind of unfortunate they don’t spread out the vendors around the square/park. You can find plenty of baked goods, plants, crafts, jams, honeys, snacks and produce. My friend ended up getting a half dozen muffins, and cherries. I ended up splurging on some organic watermelon/lime juice from a small juice bar just starting in town. I had some while I was walking around the park and am saving somme for a watermelon martini, soon! I also bought some jam I’m looking foward to trying. It’s worth a trip to beautiful downtown Plymouth!

Great, but small market. I can always find what I’m looking for — whether its fresh herbs, veggies, baked goods, flowers, homemade soaps or crafts — they’ve got them here every Saturday during spring and summer. I love taking the kids here, grabbing a cookie or muffin from a vendor and having a mini picnic in the park by the fountain!

Why does the Plymouth Farmers Market not have any more reviews? It is surprising, as Farmers Markets seem to be right up the average Unilocalers alley and the place is always jam packed with people. So perhaps the market is a little small and relatively limited, but I don’t think it is trying to compete with the Eastern Market either. The variety is fine and returning vendors include a local honey vendor, a bakery with a plethora of baked treats and several local, sometimes organic fruit and veggie stands. Flowers and plants are represented, as they should. Lately I have seen a lady from Colorado with the most amazing pistachio bread. You have to try this, it is the bomb and you will buy a loaf once you finish that sample she gives you. I like coming here whenever I can, which is sadly not often enough. 2013 Will hopefully be the year where we claim our weekends back. I miss doing the things that normal people do on the weekend, and am bummed I don’t nearly shop here and support locals as much as I’d want to.

The growing farmers market movement is alive and well in downtown Plymouth. Every Saturday from May to October, you can find 30+ vendors on Penniman Ave, running along the north side of downtown Plymouth’s Kellogg Park. Plant vendors and a baker fill The Gathering(right next to Penn Theatre). We have great luck with the plants we get from the two middle-aged ladies in cowboy hats. There are a couple of local meat vendors for you locavores out there as well. Combined with all that downtown Plymouth has to offer, this is a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Saturdays only. Parking in the public library lot is nearby.
