As I was looking for a quick getaway with the hubby an kids for the weekend this hotel had the most reasonable rate. Slightly familiar with Plymouth I took at chance booking it. Once we arrived we realized it was across from the mall literally. Was greeted upon entering the hotel very nice gentleman checked us in an told where everything was an gave us warm cookies an keys to our room. I would have preferred two double beds but only King was available. Our room was located right next to the pool entrance so it was a great location room 235. The room was nice an cool when we entered it. Everything was fine no real major issues. The room was recently renovated but the mattress was not comfortable at all, not sure if it was new or old but it served its purpose for the night.

I stayed here on a Saturday night with my mom and boyfriend. We had just traveled for several hours and checked in very late after calling around to every hotel in the area and finally finding a room. When we checked in, the credit card machine was down so they had to copy my military ID, my mom’s ID, and credit card. We were not too pleased about this. We asked to speak with the manager who assured us he would take care of our documents and place them securely in a drawer until they entered our information and then would slide them under the door in the morning. In the morning, they slide the documents under the door along with 2 free breakfast vouchers(delicious). They were able to help us out with a room in a pinch and were accommodating when we did not feel comfortable with them copying our information. Still not happy they had to do that, but it was handled in a professional manner and they made the best of the situation.

This was an average hotel. Was never given the wifi information but was given a cookie at check it. What I did not know about until I got there was that they charge you 45 $ and if everything is okay they give it back to you within 14 days. Which I think is bull. But other than that okay stay.

I’m not sure why this hotel has such sub par reviews on Unilocal! This is my first time staying here and I love this hotel. It reminds me of the Luxor in Vegas(all the rooms are inside the hotel like a big square and very open in the middle with a bar and lounge area) This room is a suite and very comfortable. Huge room! A small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, 2 big nice tv’s and plenty of desk space if you have some work to do. The shower is great and the bed was amazing! I slept in this morning instead of working out HAHA. I had room service last night(wings and the skirt steak salad) and that was delicious. The girl at the front desk was super nice when I checked in. I would ignore the other reviews and give this place a chance. If I am ever in PA again I would absolutely stay here.

I booked this hotel because I was in town for work and it was less than a 5 minute commute. Boy am I sorry! The bed was so old and abused that I had back pain for days. Springs were in my hip no matter which wayI turned. The extra blanket was full of someone elses’s hair and was balled up in the closet, clearly unwashed. The sheets were so old and weathered that the did not fit securely on the mattress. We asked for them to be changed the next day only to return to the same gross sheets. The glasses were dirty and unchanged and getting an extra towel was nearly impossible. For almost $ 200 a night I expect better.

Terrible. Our room was blazing hot which made it difficult to sleep. There was no sustainable wifi(what year is this where a hotel doesn’t have wifi? 1980?!) What added insult to injury was when we asked the hotel to get a taxi to the airport, they ordered a limousine which cost at least double the normal fare rate. I’m sure the limo service gives the concierge a kick back. Would have been nice to have a heads up on that one!

Kids. Kids. Kids. OMGGGGG!!! –_– There was a huge hockey tournament so there were so many kids running around ALLDAYLONGANDNIGHT, with lack supervision of parents. When we got there, the employee was very sweet and gave us 2 cookies, which my friend ate and he loved them. We had the 1 king Bed 2 room suite, which was nice. The bed was really comfortable. The only thing I hated was the dang on tv! To see what was on tv you had to press channel 1, sit there and watch the guide scroll for you at a snails pace. Half the time, the channels were mixed up. The Wi-Fi sucked SOBAD. Once, you connected to the Wi-Fi, the Internet went so slow or would disconnect. Besides the room, the environment was annoying because of the hockey tournament. The elevators took forever! We were only on the 2nd floor so usually I walked up the steps but sometimes I couldn’t because the kids were sitting on the steps blocking everyone’s way. Where were the parents? Drinking, talking, doing whatever instead of supervising their kids. Thank goodness, we couldn’t hear them in the bedroom, but if we sat in the living room we could hear them running all over & screaming. My friend was talking to the staff member and they said that their used to it because hockey teams have been coming here more often so they got used to all the chaos. Also, the game rooms or whatever were booked for the hockey kids from 9AM-10PM so they could play Wii, ping pong and whatever else. WHYDOTHEYNEEDTHATROOMFOR13 hours!!! There’s a lot of great food choices around the area and also right across the street near the mall. I don’t think I would come back to this hotel because of the kid situation and it seems like it happens a lot on the weekends.

Beyond disappointing the hotel was full of kids running around with no supervision in the middle of the night and no one to stop them. I have kids and have nothing against kids but this is out of control. The hvac ran non stop and was horribly loud which ended up being a blessing compared to the hallway noise. The wait for the elevator was a minimum 5 minutes every time and seems to be programmed to stop at every floor. I’ve never been at a Doubletree with such low standards.

Newly renovated. My second stay. I think it’s great. Especially with my hot wire discount. Mall is across the street, and plenty of places to eat.

Great place if you’re planning an event to be held for a large number of people. Rooms are nice: not too small, 2 TVs, pullout couch. Staff is very friendly and will try to accommodate as much as possible. The only thing that I thought was ridiculous was the fact that only 1 elevator was working: PLEASE get all 3 working.

My experiences with this hotel was not very pleasant. First, my room does not have room number tag. It took me quite a while to find my room, Second, I left my phone charger in the room. I call three times, and left two voice mails, no one called me back, not good customer service!

I have no idea where the negative review came from. I felt impressed with everything. Inside the room it includes living room, refridgerator, 2 tv 1 in bedroom another one in living room, microwave, coffee maker, wifi… What else you need… I definitely come back here again when I come to Philadelphia. Or I definitely choose double tree again wherever I go. Love it

No WiFi — Conference Room off the loud lobby rather than the Pre Booked and Pre Paid King Suite — Stained and dirty. Most locations of the Hilton brand that I’ve stayed at have been anywhere from mostly good to great. This Double Tree in Plymouth Meeting is the awful exception. We had booked and paid for a king suite about a week prior to our stay. Upon check-in, we were told our king suite was«just around the corner» from the front desk. The door to our room(# 104) faced the loud multistory lobby which has many seating areas and a bar. Nice lobby if you want to hang out there away from your room. NOT acceptable when your room opens to it and you expect to sleep at night. We opened the door to find a conference room with conference table, chairs, small TV and white board. This was not the adjoining living room like lounge area one would expect in a king suite. Rather than a room to watch TV and hang out, the room was totally useless space for us. Even if I had wanted to sit in a desk chair and watch the small TV, I would not have been able to hear it over all the noise from the adjacent lobby. Then there is the issue of Internet access. I could get WiFi only in our conference room. No WiFi at all in the bedroom area. None at all. The carpet was stained. There was hair on the bath area sink top. The bathroom had a hole in the wall with exposed wiring. My calls to the front desk that I didn’t want a conference room, that my room was too loud and that we had no WiFi were feebly addressed.(An «engineer» came to our room to get us WiFi access. His solution was that I could have it in the conference room only. He said«No, it won’t work in the bedroom area. Nothing can be done»!!!). At 10:30 pm the night manager«Peter» called and said that«one of the sports teams is leaving» and he could move us to a regular room soon. Too little too late by that time. To summarize: Worst experience I’ve had. Very disappointing and surprisingly poor product from a normally superior brand. We will be trying the Hyatt brand offerings in the future.

I did not pay for my rooms first off. It was paid for by my company. So I can not say if it was worth this price of stay. However, this is the second time my company has put me up in this hotel. Its not amazing but its not bad either. A few little problems that anyone would expect but its not too bad. As far as the remodel its more than half way done. The lobby is open and the place looks pretty nice. My room was not dirty and it was extra cold just how I like it. Few gripes… The elevator is SUPERSLOW. My shower faucet didn’t work so I took a bath and shower at the same time. Food is WAY over priced. WIFI is SLOOOOOWWWW Overall not a bad stay.

This is clearly a hotel in transition from an Embassy Suites to a Doubletree. There is major construction going on in the middle of the hotel(turning the old breakfast bar into a «regular» lobby/lounge). Two of the three elevators are turned off, so there can be a wait. And the police showed up because one of the guests had a computer stolen from his luggage he’d left at the desk. So I would recommend against that! But, that said, my experience here was nice. I couldn’t hear construction noise from my room. My room was clean. The suite layout meant I could watch football while my Sweetie watched the car auction. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Parking was free and plentiful. And the mall across the street meant there were plenty of options for food and entertainment. So three stars. I would come back without hesitation if the price was reasonable. But I wouldn’t leave my luggage at the front desk.

DONOTSTAYHERE, RUNFORYOURLIFE********* Wish I could give it zero stars… this was the second worst hotel stay of my life, after one that my parents chose back in 1996 for a ski trip in upstate New York… they were greedy and thought it would be cool to book FOUR wedding blocks in the SAME weekend this past weekend, while construction was going on(the bride and groom told us the hotel never told them about construction that would be happening during the height of the travel season in our country um hello August, why not do the construction in freaking January or February?), with ONE elevator working which moved at the speed of smell and took you up when you asked it to take you down, NOFREEBRUNCH!!!, servers were rude and nasty and I had to eat with my hands and wipe them on my jeans since there were no utensils or napkins and no one was bussing the tables, the hallways needed vacuuming as I literally could see with my naked eye piles of actual dirt in the corners on the carpets!, our room smelled massively strongly of hardcore cleaning agents, fantastic for people with autoimmune diseases and allergies… my husband was the best man for one of those weddings and we didn’t even get to check in until almost midnight, and now we see that they double-charged us(the lady at the desk insisted that I present my credit card, even though my husband had earlier and the room was booked in his name?). Half of our friends didn’t have towels or soap, let alone were placed near each other Christ on a cracker. This is why Philadelphia just is not as together as New York City. I have worked for Hilton in midtown and even though the hotel there was kinda dirty and outdated, at least they have customer service down.

This hotel is currently under renovation so I would recommend calling before booking.(August 2015) I do think once the hotel is finished it will be a great place to stay but that in between and all the noise made this visit not so pleasant.

Tired property with mediocre service. Room dingy and smelled funny. No hair conditioner. Mirrored closet door filthy and wouldn’t stay on the track. Lackluster front desk. Notified me at 7AM that they would not clean my room unless I called them due to the do not disturb sign on the door. 7AM!

This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed in and I’ve traveled a lot. Walked in to find stained carpets, dusty phones, a dirty tub and was even unpleasantly surprised by a cockroach. And for the price and level of service, they had the nerve to charge $ 15 for runny eggs and burnt in the morning. Get it together, Doubletree! Also, had to add that I was here with my family for a funeral so this was especially appalling.

This review is for the event space only.(The hotel itself is pretty gross, and I did not and would not stay here) My FI’s friend was getting married and hosted his rehearsal dinner here. I’m not going to lie, I was a bit wary when we first walked in, but the food(buffet) turned out to be delicious. The room could’ve used some updating, but it was spacious and the food was good.(I believe it was called the Hunt Club)
