Delicious chinese food in Pleasanton! We had the Family Dinner Special and a curry dish. Our server was generous with substations which was helpful. The table favorite was the Hunan Prawns, crispy and large sitting on a small puddle of sweet chili sauce.

This is definitely by far the best Chinese food place in town. I come here almost every week for dinner. The outside may not look so attentive but once you step foot inside it is beautiful! The service is always great and it’s really clean. You get such a huge portion of food for the price your paying. I’m never dissatisfied.

I came here hungry after a long day at work without lunch. Got hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, General chicken, string bean chicken, and combination chow mein. The food itself wasn’t bad, especially for foodie the trip-valley. I didn’t have any complaints about the quality of the food. The service was also excellent(even though I got take out). It only took five minutes for them to make the food and the employees were really friendly. But I can’t go above 3 stars due to the price and amount of food I got. The portions are pretty small and the price tag was fairly big($ 53). I’d love to see the portions get increased by 50%. I’m not super gluttonous and I still feel like I could probably finish off two dishes all by my lonesome and not be stuffed. Good food, but overpriced.

There is no Hunan Chef at Hunan Chef. They are from Taiwan and the owner is a Korean. Your food is served quickly and it will fill you up because fried rice is recommend. The red sauce for the Sweet and Sour pork is pre-made and it is stored in a bucket. Don’t order any items such as lamb or fish due to lack of frequency such items are ordered. Hunan Chef is not a real restaurant because it doesn’t serve a cuisine. The waitress told me in Chinese, «We serve Sichuan style food. Not Korean style Chinese food.» All that that means is they provide hot sauce for application. You can get equal value from a frozen meal from the Mainland Frozen Food Company or by going to a food court. Zaijian, Chef. Someone should notify the Mainland.

Good solid Chinese food. Don’t expect it to be totally authentic, but it’s basically a good quality version of American Chinese. Highly recommend their tan tan noodles and Sichuan fish.

Superb noodle dishes. This is a weekly regular and a little gem in the tri-valley area. Try the Chinese-Korean noodle dishes.

It’s been a while since I visited this place. I remember it used to be good. Ordered Mongolian chicken and it was terrible. I had a couple of bites and told the server I didn’t like it and she took it away. She offered to exchange the dish, but then the woman behind the counter came over and told me that’s how they make it and refused to exchange the dish. On top of it, she brought me the bill. Never going to go back… EVER!!!

If you like your food over salted this is the spot for you. I had lunch here over the weekend and boy was everything really salty. I was so parched the rest of day because every dish was so salty(not sure if it has msg in it but i wouldn’t be surprised). We had: Chow Mein(this was the only dish that I thought was good an not over salted) Chicken wings String bean chicken Fried Rice Veggie medley and General’s Chicken Doubt I’ll be back.

Considering it as a Chinese restaurant in US, I gave it two stars but this is not Chinese food, not at all. I guess they change because they need to cater American’s appetite. Sometimes I am confused can we call such a restaurant as Chinese-American restaurant. If you want to eat authentic Chinese food, you need go to a restaurant that cook for Chinese only. And I agree that one doesn’t fit for American.

Food here was great as always. We had a very large group and tried about half the menu. I don’t think there was anyone who disliked their food.

I was out here visiting for a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was held at this restaurant. We had about 30 in our party and the service did a great job taking care of all us. Super friendly and efficient. The food was really good! Everyone made comments on tasty it all was.

By far the worst food I’ve eaten in a long time. Both my wife and I had the same experience when we ordered chicken chow mein, hunan chicken, pork fried rice and crab cream cheese won tons. The food lacked flavor and had a strong bitter taste overall. I’m sorry to say we didn’t eat the $ 50 worth of food as it went straight to the garbage. What we did eat gave one of us diarrhea. I would not recommend this place at all! Sorry, as a Pleasanton resident I was really hoping to rate them high.

Amazing service, huge variety of food, reasonable prices, nice big parking lot = a great dinner for our very hungry family of 5! Our waiter went above and beyond to attend to us and was very pleasant, as was the rest of the staff! The food came fast, and hot, and everything was delicious. Prices were decent, but the atmosphere was nice and we stole some of their electricity to charge our mobile phones so we tipped a little extra to make up for it. ;-) Highly recommend!

We were craving some wonderful Chinese food so badly last week, and I had this place bookmarked on Unilocal. We drove over and realized it was right next to our other favorite Chinese restaurant. Awesome! Two great restaurants in the same plaza– score! We were promptly seated, and greeted with happy smiling faces. The entire staff, mind you, were extremely polite and endearing from the very moment we stopped by. So refreshing and appreciated! The hot and sour soup was delightful. It had a great flavor to it with a pleasant kick that we just love. The small bowl of soup suits two people just fine. It is equivalent to about 5 cups I believe. The orange chicken was my favorite! The chicken was breaded and fried and had great crispy and fresh texture. Great orange essence! The sweet and sour chicken was also good, but not quite up to the same standard as the other entrée. I would only order the orange chicken again. We were very pleased, though, and will happily come back to enjoy another lovely meal here.

Pretty good Chinese food for the TriValley, but can’t compare to Chinatown Oakland or SF. We ordered 3 dishes. One was excellent, one was so-so, and one was horribly over-salted. It’s obvious they put a lot of care into prepping and cooking the food. Let’s start with the good. The walnut shrimp dish was well executed. Shrimps were a nice size, the breading was crunchy, the sauce was a tangy mayonnaise. The candied walnuts were crunchy and flavorful. This dish seemed authentic, but«Hunan», um no. Still, you should order this one. We got the house meat noodle dish, which was like the Korean dish«Jajangmyeon», meaning noodles with black bean sauce. The sauce was packaged separately from the noodles, which was a nice touch. The noodles were fine, however, not as chewy as I liked. DH really liked them. The black bean sauce enrobed tiny bits of squash(zucchini?) and meat. It was okay, but not as savory as we expected. The amount of sauce provided was generous. We had a lot left over. The dish I barely touched was the Chef’s Beef, which is made from tiny shreddings of flank steak. Very different from what we expected. We decided to try this, since we don’t like the typical tenderized Chinese restaurant beef. It was way too salty, even when eaten with the lettuce it came with. The marinade reminded me vaguely of teriyaki — sweet and salty. I detected faint hints of mushroom soy sauce. We had nearly the whole box left over, so I stir-fried some cabbage the next day and added this. It worked out okay, since the cabbage diluted the saltiness. I wouldn’t recommend this dish, even if it’s salted properly. The order came with some mighty tasty fortune cookies. They were thin and crispy, not individually sealed, and heaps better. I suspect they get them fresh from a nearby fortune cookie factory. They also included some shrimp chips, but we didn’t eat these. We tried their delivery service, which was prompt(took about 40 min), and free if you live in the Pleaz. Prices seemed pretty steep… more along the lines of a sit-down restaurant. With tax & tip, our meal was $ 45. We’re light eaters and had quite a bit of left overs. Would we order again? Probably, but we would try different things.

Potstickers were a score! We finally found a place that makes homemade filling and all. Sized right and delicious. Shrimp chow mein was just right as is. Not like others that drench their noodles in sauce and use a lot of veggies as a filler. The shrimp were nice sized as well. Spicy garlic eggplant surprised me with the perfect balance of flavors. The hint of sweetness made this dish very enjoyable. I wish I would have ordered rice to go with it. Tan Tan Noodles sounded good and were for the most part. The peanut sauce wasn’t spicy to me though and it almost leaned toward pasty a bit. The noodles are house made so it made up for the somewhat bland sauce that comes separately. Just add hot oil.
