Ulta

i usually go to macy’s to buy all my benefit products because ulta doesn’t have much to choose from. i loved that they where able to exchange the products i had bought at macy’s.

I go in to the Ulta on Grand Ave in Gurnee, Il about once a month since it’s like 5min from my house but that location is the most disappointing location I’ve ever been in. They never greet you, they are snooty, you can never get anyone to help cause they are always too busy either talking to each other. I went in looking for a good palette and Lorac was out of stock. I finally got an employee to help and I asked when they would be in stock. She didn’t have the answer, didn’t say she would order me one cause I’d pay right on the spot, nor did she assist in finding a replacement… um you are a sales person… SELL THE PRODUCTS, this isn’t the first time that has happened! I’m never going back there but I love Ulta so I had to find a new location. Over the weekend I drove 20min out of my way to head over to the Ulta location in Pleasant Prairie, WI. That was the best decision I made and will continue to go out of my way to get great service, 5 stars! I found my new hair stylist Leah, averyone there was so nice and took care of me.

The high end makeup workers were very nice. But I saw a manager named Julie or Julia talking very rudely to a cashier. She had a very threatening tone. I don’t like to see this, especially in front of customers.

Really nice selection of hard to find items. Found my favorite Hempz lotion today and bonus it was buy one get 50% off second one. I got two of course. Staff is really friendly. Only thing they need more of is a bigger clearance section. Found a few things today but wish there were more on sale.

This is for the Salon only. I live in Los Angeles but was visiting my parents and desperately needed to get my roots done. Found ULTA which was close by and got Eric. He is AMAZING! Got a full head of demi-​color that came out PERFECTLY and a beautiful blow out for $ 43!!! That’s less than half of what I normally pay back home but the quality is well beyond what I’ve had in expensive salons.
Great service and great stylist! Highly recommend.

I have been going to the Salon at Ulta for over a year for cut & occasional color. The salon staff there is amazing, very friendly, knowledgable & talented. The store staff is very helpful as well & I always get coupons in the mail since I’m a rewards member (which salon services earn points as well).

I shop here often, have had my hair colored and cut, as well as had facials here too. Great service, good deals, and expert advice!

Ulta is a great place to get specialty products you may need to look good. I have been shopping at Ulta for over 10 years now, but it is probably not helping. LOL! Typically there are never any guys in here, so you have to get over that fact. I also can guarantee that when you walk in you are going to get stared at by the ladies. Just keep your head up high and walk in with confidence. They can not stop you!!!
So I went directly to the Aveda products and stood there in a daze. I looked up and down at the products. Where was my styling cream? Why? There was a new product in its place. Same container but different colors. Similar names but it was like some changed the words using a Thesaurus. Is it the same? Or a lame attempt to get me to buy a new product and forget about my old one?
A sales associate saw my pain and approached me and asked if I needed help. Typically I can say, «No I am good!» But today I think I said, «I need a hug!» Not really but I think I wanted to say that. I asked her about where was my product and she told me that it was discontinued and this was the new product to replace it. I was in such disbelief that I went to the Aveda website and it said, «Discontinued!» So no I was not in a happy place. The sales associate showed me the new product and said, «She was sure it was the same stuff!» But she could not confirm it… she did tell me to Google it… which I found kind of funny coming from a Sales Associate! She is suppose to be the expert.
This is the second time that this has happen to me at Ulta. My shampoo also got discontinued about a year ago and I have not found a replacement at Ulta. If they keep this up, I may have to just stop shopping here.
On a side note… make sure you join the Ulta Club because they send out great monthly coupons that you can apply towards your purchases. They will also send out coupons for free products based on how much money you spend. I even got a free lamp once. Hey it was free, so I had to take it!
This store may be geared towards women but they do have manly products in here too. Just put your head up high and walk in. And if you’re single you might be able to meet a nice woman in here too… it beats meeting someone at the bar!!!

Fairly standard for Ulta. Good selection, samples and sales. My timing with getting assistance is always off. When I need help I can’t find anyone, when I don’t need help I get approached. Maybe just coincidence.
