Complimentary chips were very greasy. And I’ve never seen such tiny tortilla chips. Salsa wasn’t very tasty. Ordered a beef burrito, it took forever to get my order. Not like they were busy, only one other customer. The rice in the burrito was very mushy. Bad service, bad food, rude mgr. will definitely not return or tecommend

Pretty slow. Very loud TV. I couldn’t even talk during all the time it took for the food to get to us. When it did arrive, it was just ok. I won’t be back.

These guys are crooks. We were using a coupon from the Entertainment Book and showed it to the waitress when we ordered and she said it was ok. Then when we went to pay, they said the manager said they never signed up for the program and do not accept the coupons. The manager said they get a lot of people coming in with the coupons but they do not take them. I told them that they should put a sign in the door saying that they don’t take the coupons but he refused. What a way to dupe the patrons… lure them in with the coupons but then refuse to accept them, even after the waitress reads and acknowledges the coupon. The food was really mediocre too, especially the rice and beans that came with the meal. The chips were too thick and the salsa that came with it too thin a bland. My wife’s burrito was OK but my main course was a little oily.

Sad to see the little Peking Duck restaurant go but glad to see something good come in its place. Have ordered take out menudo twice now and both times it has been great with its hand made tortillas and salsa. Great setup inside with lots of space and good music. The employees are friendly enough. Definitely do recommend

Spotted this hole in the wall restaurant while waiting for my car to be washed. The guy from the car wash place told me to let the waiter know that he recommended me… well I did but no discount was given lol Got two beef tacos and a horchata to go for $ 5 ish. Not bad. I would drop by again next time I get a car wash($ 15 for basic wash btw)

We were in Concord searching for a Mexican restaurant, when we spotted this gem. Excellent customer service and food. I had the Camarones Rancheros with rice and beans — absolutely delicious. The handmade tortillas are a plus… really good. Another plus, Ice cold Mexican beer. I can’t wait to come back!

More like a 2.5 Came here while waiting on a car wash and got food to go. Very basic restaurant with very few tables. The staff was really nice but the food was just ok. I got a cheese enchilada: it was okay. The tortilla was falling apart and the sauce was really watery which made my food and I guess tortilla too, soggy. I barely ate one of the two enchiladas 2.5÷5 It came with a side of rice: 3⁄5 due to lack of flavor and beans 4⁄5 because they tasted normal. Meal also came with chips and salsa: 4⁄5 chips were good but lost a point for the salad due to it being a bit on the bland side. My meal came out to about $ 9.00 something. For the quality of the food, I wouldn’t pay so much. 3 points only because of the staff but defiantly a 2⁄5 for food.

La Botana has less than 10 tables in the dining area. pics of selected eats are posted on upper wall. laminated menu also available on counter. in hindsight, saw some bargains(camaron rancheros, 9.99). initially only saw pricey torta(7.99) eats: tacos(listed @1.5, charged .99) only chicken, asada, al pastor –meats fresh but bland, warm at best, not hot –accompanying chips crispy, fresh, definitely homemade –tortilla homemade, looked like flour, mex patron said it was corn. –salsa was medium hot drink: aqua, jamaica, 1.99 –more sweet than jamaica tasting, lg. serving. pleasant drink take outs: –service above average, only l waitress/cashier –specials listed on standing white board some very reasonably priced. –maybe a return eat. –could be 5 stars, some minor issues prevent this.

This restarunt had an Excellent service. The food was great. The restaurant is spotless. Basically I couldn’t find anything complain about. Oh ya try the homemade pineapple juice by the counter. This restaurant is a gold mine. I would know because I own taqueria aguililla in Pinole.

Had a very large, delicious burrito there. It was served quickly and also served with chips and salsa. The salsa was hot(but not blazing) with good flavor to it. Nick says this is a small but worthy addition to the Monument Blvd. Mexican food scene.

Oh wow. I know they just recently opened, but perhaps opening day should be postponed until they are able to serve tap water. I’m not much of a soda drinker(unless it’s in a glass bottle), so I typically don’t have to pay for my drink with lunch. I love tap water — especially with some citrus squeezed into it. But I was told they only had bottled water. I paid $ 1.25 for a plastic bottle of water. I assume this is an issue with not having glasses to serve water in? I have no idea! Not having a veggie or potato taco option was a big disappointment. I ordered one carnitas and one chicken.($ 2.50 each) They were out of carnitas so I eneded up with two chicken. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought to the table. The salsa was very mild — chips were OK. The place is small, only a few tables inside. My food was out quickly and had the same mild salsa on top of two housemade tortillas. The tortillas were good, chicken was OK. 1 slice of lime and a halved radish were also on the plate. The man inside who seemed to be in charge brought me a napkin and checked to make sure everything was good. As I left, a man outside suggested I get my car washed at the 76 next door. If I return here, I’ll DEF think ahead and get my car detailed. Their prices are super low(I think he said $ 15 inc. interior vacuum, rims, etc.). But since I love spicy salsa and a fresh salsa bar, they might have a hard time keeping my business. If you live in the area it’s worth checking out this new restaurant, but it was no comparison to my favorites on Monument and Contra Costa Blvd.

Let me begin by saying that this restaurant shares space with Peking Boy Chinese food restaurant(I know. I know.a little unconventional, but continue reading). I also should mention that if you blink, you’ll miss this place. so drive slow. With that said, this place exceeds any competitor Mexican restaurant that I have tried in the area as far as food quality, customer service, and price. They also offer catering, which is a great option for parties, holidays, etc. My husband and I had this place cater our daughter’s first birthday party of about 65 people. The owners are VERY, VERY nice and super accommodating. They allowed us to sample the food ahead of time and customized our catering order without hesitation and offered amazing prices within our budget. The day of the party, we were pleased that the food was ready promptly, it was hot, and completely ready to serve. The owners even put in the effort to include nice«extras» that we weren’t necessarily expecting. Our guests were exceptionally happy with the tastiness of the food and had nothing but good things to say. All in all, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had dealing with a restaurant. If you’ve never been there, you must try them out!
