Good drinks at the coffee shop, the only thing I wish they would do is put a name on the cups cause I think some Asian guy took off with my drink n he ordered after me lol

For being beginners and still training, the pastries they offer are dang good! The goodies look appealing, fresh, and professionally decorated. The staff is friendly and will happily explain what each item is. Great place!

The DVC Pastry Shop is one of the best parts of DVC. It is managed by the culinary program and all the pastries sweet or savory are really good! They have a wide variety of pastries. Scones, Muffins, Cookies, Brownies, Cakes(Carrot, German Chocolate, Cheese, Tiramisu), Chocolates & Brittles, quiches, focaccia pizza, Breads, and Soup. Prices are reasonable, but I highly suggest you go in on Thursdays after 11am. That’s when everything is half priced because they aren’t open friday-sunday.

Really excellent, fresh pastries at cheap prices, made with high-quality, natural ingredients. I enjoy coming here when I get the chance: it’s much better than the(sort of lamented) Safeway that used to be nearby, more like Whole Foods or a neighborhood patisserie. They have a big range of items, from lemon tarts with awesome meringue to handmade truffles to things you’ll have to ask the name of. They have things I’ve only ever seen here, like a gorgeous wine-soaked pear tart that was the hit of a faculty party once. They also sometimes have a killer German chocolate brownie that’s the only one I’ve ever liked — it’s not that generic canned goo you usually get. They also have soup, focaccia, and a few other savory, lunch-like items. Finally, they have coffee drinks, too, but be prepared to wait for these. On Thursdays, everything is half-off from 11AM to closing time at 1PM, so that’s when everyone comes in to buy a whole cake or three. Be prepared for a bit of a wait(don’t be late to class!). Some caveats: 1) It doesn’t open at the beginning of the semester. I assume the new students need time to figure things out. You need to wait a few weeks. 2) Sometimes there’s a line. Don’t cut things close. 3) Cut the workers some slack. Most of them are students who are still learning customer service and the pastry trade, and they may not specialize in whatever you’re asking about. Be nice to them! You’re getting upscale items at an amazing bargain. You can park across the street if you don’t mind walking the equivalent of 2 – 3 blocks(I would in SF for this deal), or pay for a meter/permit, walk up past the ticket booth, and go in through the doors to the right of where it says«Trophy Room»(the current cafeteria building). Go to the right of the bathrooms — it’s kind of hidden, not over where the generic cafeteria(meh) and the Express Lunch(also by catering students; also good) are.
