Love this place! Great beer selection and the staff is very knowledgable and friendly. They have over 70 beers on tap, not to mention 70 or so in the bottle. I junk what sets this place from other establishments is their beer knowledge. You can’t find a lot of places where their staff know a thing or two about the beer. Happy drinking!

It is a cool dark pub experience! The bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable which was very impressive because the beer selection is HUGE! We also had an appetizer that went with the beer we had. It hit the spot! Cheese, fruit, salami, crackers etc. 2 thumbs up!

I’ve been sitting with my negative Ginger Man experience for over a month now because I wanted to write an objective review, rather than a heated one. I can’t say, however, that I’ve managed to muster much sympathy for this establishment since I last visited in November of 2015. My boyfriend and I had made it a Tuesday night ritual to meet up at the Ginger Man for drinks before heading out to dinner, and on occasion would also return after we ate for one more beer before heading home. After numerous decent-enough experiences here(which is why I’m affording two stars here rather than only one), on this particular night, the manager(perhaps the same one reviewer Ernesto also mentions) cut us off after two beers. TWO. When I asked her _why_she was cutting us off, first she told me it was because I had been«leaning on the bar.» Later, she blamed another server and said she was just backing him up. I would have respected her decision had my behavior in any way warranted being cut off(I was dancing by the jukebox so perhaps I was having too much fun?), or if she had been forthright and respectful. Instead, I’m left with a bitter memory of a place that I frequented. Although people often rave about the Ginger Man’s beer selection, I’ve always found it pretty standard in comparison to other beer-centric bars around. It’s hardly worth a visit if you get only decent beer and rude service after supporting an establishment for quite a while. All in all, a serious bummer. We have revamped our Tuesday night ritual, to say the least, and it no longer includes a visit to the Ginger Man.

Cool spot! Great selection of beers and very unique décor. My brother put it best when he said it felt like Hogwarts. It was crowded on a Sat night so we resigned to hanging out outside. Staff was awesome and turned on the fire lamp(was a chilly and wet evening), which drew others to hang out on the patio too. The manager was very friendly and helpful and out server Shelby was very sweet and attentive. Would definitely recommend and return in our next visit to Plano. Would also recommend that they add more hot and non alcoholic beverages to encourage longer stays on cold evenings. A few more reds on the menu would be nice too.

The beer selection Is really good and the place is nice overall. Although our waitress(her name was Flora I believe) was really nice to us, her manager was really rude and got upset over the fact that we didn’t leave enough of a tip for the waitress. Even though we agreed to cover the«expected» tip(it was a mistake from the person who paid the bill), the manager still ended up kicking us out of the bar. It’s a pity, we did enjoyed our time there but we won’t be coming back anytime soon.

The best selection of beer! The soft pretzel was jumbo sized, hot, soft, and delicious! They also have delicious root beer on tap!

It’s a decent enough venue, and during cooler months it’s fine(there is a good sized outer seating area.). There is just almost ZERO space inside there. It’s like a thin rectangle. If you go off-peak times, you’ll enjoy it, but my idea of a fun night out drinking isn’t being shoulder to shoulder cramped in a tiny bar.

One word… Loved it… No tvs! They want you to talk to those close to you… Loved the music they have a jukebox… The bartender and staff were amazing. And they have over 40 different beers local and nationwide. Went for 1 beer ended up having like 10 lol. Definitely would recommend this bar to anyone visiting Dallas I’m from Miami!

They have a great selection of tap beers. If you’re a beer lover, this is definitely a spot to check out in Plano. Right in the heart of shops at Legacy. I’ve been there a few times with friends and colleagues and the service has always been great!

This place has a lot of beer on tap and you get good service. I don’t really like beer so i had cider. My sister had beer and tried different kinds. i would still recommend you come here because they will have beers you like.

While drinking my way around DFW, I thought it was about time I called in at a hometown spot, The Ginger Man. My friend and I were lucky enough to find two chairs together at the bar and we sat down and waited, and waited a bit more, and weren’t even acknowledged, and waited. We were about to leave when someone did finally take our drink order. Now, one thing this place has going for it would be the beer selection. We counted about 75 beers and ciders on tap after a couple of recounts. Given the service we were one and done and moved on. Overall, not much to say great beer selection, slow service. This is probably a pub that requires a second chance but right now if I had to choose two bars which sold 75 beers, I’d be picking the other one.

If you are a beer fan, this is your place. I have been here a few times, and each time, has been a pleasant experience. You have your choice to sit inside, or outside on the patio. You can play darts, board games, or sit around and enjoy the scenery and entertainment. The one thing I would change is the food choices. Having more options and being stocked with the food listed on the menu would be great. They were out of 3 food items that we wanted to try, however, we ended up with the pesto sandwich and it was great. 3 stars for the beer and service. The food choices needs some repairing.

3 stars for beer, 2 for service and 0 stars for food. They had food menu options that they«ran out of because the company gave it up, but a new one is coming». Don’t tell drinking people there is a ‘jalapeño cheese pretzel dog’ option after the company dumped it… all four of those words appeal to me while drinking beer! The waitress was unenthusiastic and brought our checks out across the span of 20+ minutes. 5 stars for bingo on Wednesdays though!

A dark, beer-focused pub in the middle of a classy shopping district in Plano. The food is average(I had a flatbread) and the service is fine. Unfortunately I tried a cask conditioned stout that had turned and should never have been served. I asked the manager to try it and she agreed/comped it but the damage was done. Hopefully they didn’t serve it to anyone else.

Small cozy place with outside patio. Very laid back. A bit different compared to the their other location in uptown. They have great selections of beer. I like coming here to play darts with friends.

Best place for beer in Plano hands down. Amazing selection of beers on tap and their import collection is insane! I’ve tried their pretzel jalapeño hot dog too and it was fantastic– what you really come here for is the beer though. Very comfortable pub atmosphere– unlike the other pretentious places in Shops at Legacy.

Fun bar with an awesome patio that is open later than most other places in the Shops on weekdays. The inside is fairly small and doesn’t compare to the Uptown location, but if you go when the weather is nice the patio has plenty of seating, especially during the week. They have an extensive beer menu, so this is the place for you if you’re a beer drinker. I’m actually not a big beer drinker, but there are a few beer cocktails on the menu, my favorite of which is called a Dirty Hoe(hoegaarden & framboise). Sweet and yummy. The service has been great the times that I’ve gone. You sit down at a table on the patio and someone appears very quickly to take your order. Definitely adding this place to the rotation.

I have always enjoyed my visits here and the service is awesome. The weather had cooled off this week, so the patio was a good choice. The selection is vast and I am sure you will find something you like or something new to try. Parking is in the nearby garage or on the street. Great spot for Friday afternoon with live music supplied by the Shops of Legacy. Also a wonderful spot to people watch. Make sure you stop by for a visit and enjoy a relaxing drink.
