Honestly I would come here just for the AMAZING service I get right when I walk in. Second star for amazing food, third for the drinks, forth for the guacamole sauce, fifth because amazing service x2. Good job guys!

5 hours later and I’m just coming too from an excellent food coma obtained at the Taco Diner. The wife and I ate here when we were in the area 3 years ago and were excited to see they still serve the same awesome green sauce with their chips! The tacos were also very good. I had the brisket with nopales which was better than expected but my wife had the carne Asada which was fantastic! I washed it all down with a mangomosa and the wife had a mango margarita both of which were spot on. We make it back to the Legacy shopping area once a year for a nearby business meeting and will have to put the Taco Diner in our regular rotation!

I’m giving this place a star because the guacamole was fantastic. Seriously, so good. I’m giving it another star because our waitress was very sweet and helpful. I always had a full water glass, which is important to me. The rest of the meal was a disaster. The queso was atrocious. The«tacos» were terrible — like quesadillas only without anything on them. Just really dried out tortillas with maybe a small strip of meat and 3 shreds of cheese. Seriously, I would rather go to Taco Bell. This is Texas, for the love.

Came here for brunch and they messed up my wife’s order twice. Severly undercooked her eggs, then severly overcooked her eggs. Served up fat instead of meat for her brisket tacos. Then forgot the mushrooms on my mushroom omelete. We won’t be coming back here.

Brought my employees and clients here for a business lunch. Extremely loud. Bland food. Brought my wife the wrong salad. Glasses were empty several times. Portions were small. Bad experience and won’t be coming back.

The wife and I came here about 2 years ago when we moved from Virginia… we were not impressed to say the least. Last Tuesday we wanted something quick and were passing Taco Diner and agreed to give it another shot. Voila, we found that what had turned us off so much was how noisy the place was, But not at 5:30 on a Tuesday!!! Thoroughly enjoyed my brisket tacos with a side of avocado and the wife had a grilled chicken salad with lettuce and avocado. Plus I glugged down 2 Happy Hour margaritas on the rocks for only $ 5 each… Bonanza!!! Just to be sure we weren’t wrong we went again on Friday and sat outside… we will be loyal customers!!!

Taco diner is so good! Food is a little pricey but I don’t mind paying it every now and then. Some of the hole in the wall taco places are the best you can get but if you want a nice sit down restaurant and good tacos come here.

I came to this restaurant with my family From out of town to show them around. Im writing this review based on personal preference, was the food was bland. The server told me he had sweet tea. Turns out he didnt have sweet tea and told me to add sugar. So i had sugar floating in my drink. It was just a disappointing experience.

We love both Taco Diner and Mi Cocina, mainly for the Mambo Taxi’s if I am being honest. The reason we visit this particular location at Shops at Legacy is because of it’s prime location on the street. The weather was perfect, and the live music was playing a shop down. We ordered a mambo taxi and then the brisket quesadillas which are my favorite. Unfortunately it took quite a while to get our food, and then once we got it, they had brought us the brunch quesadillas with eggs. Both times the manager apologized and immediately fixed our order. Since we were not in any hurry, we weren’t upset at all, and were very pleased with how she handled everything. Will continue to give the service!

Meh. Very basic tacos… meat in a tortilla, maybe a jalapeño or two. Nothing special. And very dry… needed to add salsas to make it edible. Appearance is deceiving with all the people out front, but maybe there just looking for a quick eat. Won’t be back.

I was really disappointed with dinner here tonight. The chips tasted a bit stale, the guac had brown in it and tasted like it was a few days old, and the chicken in my order of chicken fajitas was dry. Taco Diner just seems to have gone down hill. The people who work here are nice and very attentive, but the food is just not worth the money. It was $ 50 for that experience(my fiancé was with me and ordered fajitas as well). Won’t be back anymore.

Came here during happy hour and was greeted immediately. The bartender made me a drink while I waited for my friends. After being seated I realized at the last minute that I had two other friends coming and needed a bigger table. They immediately accommodated me! They were able to bring another table in so we could all sit together during a busy dinner rush. Great attitudes and the wait staff was always asking if we needed anything. Great place! Patio was spacious and they have heaters! Woo!

Dinner was a disaster. Let me preface this by saying I have been a loyal MiCo/Taco diner patron going on 8 years now. I was looking forward to ordering my usual Americanos Tacos. When they came out I noticed right away that they did not look right. The flour taco was not pressed and crispy, it was mostly cold and limp, the cheese had not melted, and the chicken was dry and without seasoning. After powering through one taco with plenty of red salsa to help it down, I decided to ask my waiter what the deal was. I am accustomed to receiving pressed crispy & hot tacos with melted cheese and plenty of seasoned chicken inside. His response was that he was new«6 – 8 months,» and stated that he was not familiar with the previous menu. The problem with that is I had been to this location 2 – 3 months earlier and this dish came out perfectly. So right away the timeline wasn’t adding up. I asked for the manager to come over and he showed up a few minutes later. After explaining the fiasco to him, he stated that the menu had changed around 2 months ago and that they now offered fajita chicken or al pastor chicken when ordering the Americanos. The problem with that is, a vast majority of people who go to a Mexican restaurant and pay $ 14 for tacos, would prefer to have the seasoned«al pastor» chicken vs. plain, dry, unseasoned chicken breast. If you wanted no seasoning and bland chicken, cheese and a flour taco, then you should have to specify as such. The unseasoned chicken should not come as standard. And at the very least, after a menu change the servers should be trained to ask whether or not you want the al pastor or the plain fajita chicken. The plate was not comped, and the service was generally lacking. Chips were cold, unsalted and slow to be refilled. I feel like I never have to complain or even ask for things at Mi Cocina, but the little brother Taco Diner is really falling behind. I do not see myself coming back, and instead will choose to go to Mexican Sugar which never disappoints. On a separate note, the cleanliness of the restaurant was lacking as well. Chips and paper were on the ground, tables were left dirty, and the bathroom had an overflowing trash can and a dirty toilet. Unacceptable. The only redeeming aspect of this visit was the Mambo Taxi which never disappoints. 2⁄5

Since the sun decided to poke it’s head out of the clouds, my gorgeous Wife and I decided to do a little shopping around Shops of Legacy. It wasn’t long before our thoughts turned to food. I had never eaten at Taco Diner, but knew that they are a Mi Cocina venture, so I was looking forward to some good food there. We walked in and were told that it would be about 15 minutes for a patio table. Not bad. 45 minutes later we were finally sat. Mexican food? Gotta have Queso to go with the chips! The menu said the Queso Blanco has a «kick»(the quotation marks are actually on the menu) and comes with ground beef or brisket for no additional charge. Bonus! To put it succinctly, the Blanco was Blando. No spice, no taste, and the no charge brisket was a big chunk of unappealing fatty meat plopped in the middle of the bowl. On to the entrées! We decided to share the Chicken Quesadilla and, since we were at the Taco Diner, the 4 Street Taco plate. Now, we love love love quesadillas. What’s not to love, right? Two hot tortillas with glorious gooey cheese melted between them and some succulent grilled chicken to round it out. Oh how I WISH that was what had been served to us. Overcooked chicken and not even enough cheese to hold it all together, I would have to say that the sour cream side was the highlight of the plate. So disappointing. I’m sure that my intrepid readers are anxious to hear about the tacos. After all, this is the TACO diner. Well, wait no longer. Here ya go. We ordered two each of the Chicken al Pastor and the Felipe Cheesesteak tacos. I’m going to just cut to the chase here. Tasteless, overcooked, and generally awful seemed to be the theme of our entire meal here. I’ve had much better food at Taco Bueno, and didn’t have to put up with the pretentiousness.

They need ALOT of improvements. For starters our server was super slow we didn’t receive our waters/drinks until 15 min after being seated. We ordered the queso and Quac for appetizers and queso was white and had a roasted taste to it(not a fan) All of our food came out cold, even the two people in our group that ordered fajitas the skillet wasn’t even sizzling. Also when I walked inside to go to the bathroom I almost slipped due to the 3 layers of dirt/grease lining the floors. I honestly gave this place 2 stars because it has a great location and too much potential to suck this bad. Date I Dined: 2÷20÷16

We mainly come here when we want patio sitting and mango frescas in the Plano area. The food is a hit or miss. Nothing too impressive. I always the pastor pork tacos Plate but they recently took that off menu. Oh and of course if you want a good frozen drink this is a good place too. Mambo taxis are yummy.

Ehh… I’m not a big fan. This is the second time I’ve eaten at this location and I haven’t been impressed yet. The food is just ok and the service is usually not great. During this visit I had to ask for limes for my drink 4 times before I got it. I asked the first server 3 times and the second server once. We had to move because a family sat next to us that FORSURE had not bathed in at least a week. I could barely breathe… don’t even think about eating. When we moved to the other table we also got a new server. He was pretty good. I think he would have been amazing but I think the hostess accidentally overwhelmed him by sitting us in his area. He had a big party inside and tables outside on the patio too. But he was as attentive as possible and very nice. Also, while we were there, some little girls starting bothering every table asking them to buy chocolate bars from their bag. They made it to our table when the manager came over and escorted them out of the restaurant. Apparently that’s a regular thing there. Weird… But the manager was very nice and he handled it well. He also came over to check on us after we moved and was very nice when we were leaving. Overall I would MUCH rather go to Mi Cocina next time. I’m not a big fan of Taco Diner in general.

Average flavor, overpriced menu. I was delighted by the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine on Taco Dinner’s patio, but my heart sank when my eyes reviewed the menu price tags. $ 12 for(4) street sized barbacoa tacos [insert wallet tears here]. I would dine here again, but it’s nothing to write home about.

The food here is about average. The restaurant has a cool, modern feel and the patio is nice. The chips were a little too greasy though and the menu is different from the last time I visited and kind of busy since its on one page. I ordered two chicken al pastor tacos with rice. It was the perfect portion but flavors were kind of lacking in the chicken. I might go back to try the tamales and see how those are.

Taco Diner is Mi Cocina’s hip younger sister. It has a great array of street tacos to choose from in a lively ambiance. Mi Cocina is the stuck up snobbish older sister in a pretentious atmosphere. I love Taco Diners outdoor patio. It is a nice relaxing environment to catch up with friends and it does not get too loud. I started out with the mombo taxi… that is a crazy strong swirl margarita. Then Queso blanco with brisket, it was awesome! For dinner I order fish tacos. They were amazing. They were light and flavorful. They really hit the spot. It was a great meal with a great group of friends.
