They’re improved things recently and I like it. Good happy hour crowd before 9. Time will tell if they keep it up.

My husband and I went this Friday evening expecting a fun Latin dancing evening grant it we were there around 10 pm. The establishment had roughly 14 people but tons of staff everywhere. However, service was horrible. Our waitress was nice however, we ordered cheese fries and a dr pepper. We were told they weren’t able to serve dr pepper something about it not working. No problem. We changed to sweet tea. The fries came out promptly dropped off. We had no silverware or napkins nor were we asked if we wanted a sauce to dip the fries in mind you the sweet tea still hadn’t arrived. Sweet tea finally arrived and we were told hope it tastes ok the machine was having problems but she apologized for the wait. She left before we could ask for silverware or napkins nor did she notice. Roughly 20 mins later another staff member approached us and asked if we were set for the evening because a party was coming in and the table was needed. She stated they reserved the tables. My reply was it would of been nice to know that before we ordered. Her reply was she didn’t know but the group had already paid. I asked what about our food oh I guess you can take it with you but once the party arrived we will need the table. Still roughly 14 customers in the entire establishment. We promptly left. The dj was great he was about the best part of our wasted hour.

At least I added a star to this review. Went on a Thursday night 7÷2÷15 this time. Is it me or does this crowd seem to very cliquish? Most stayed in their groups and defended their circle like it was a secret society. Again, with the phones glued to their hands or faces. Does anyone smile or engage in conversation anymore?

guilty!!! i was in town for the 49er/cowgirls game and ventured into this lil’ spot… the outing here was impromptu but we were able to grab vip service on the upper level and it was okay. a club in the mall — ehh!!! i was ready to immediately turn around but since we were here with a group i tried to «go with the flow». i don’t drink and didn’t try any of the food but the staff seemed attentive and friendly. a few of the club goers were getting aggressive so the waitresses/hostesses had to walk around with security while trying to serve guests. people watchin’ was priceless — lol i was hardly dressed for the occasion(actually i would’ve been pissed if i had worn anything nicer) i had a maxi, v neck tee and gucci sandals on and even though i was covered a creeper eyeing me in vip waited until my husband and his friends left and walked over to strike up a conversation — ugh! big +++, they played all my favorite trap music(oh boyeee) and i felt right at home so all in all it was an unforgettable experience and if ever in the area i’d visit again: o

I went to Shark Bar and paid for VIP tables twice. The pricier«VIP» area is a tight seating area, which wasn’t the best but the service is what I had a serious problem with. One with a relative and second my husband. The first time, a relative had to pretty much pull be away from an employee after snatching a cup out of my hand and accused me of stealing off the table. VIP tables are not cheap, so it’s obvious that I have no need to steal a drink from Shark Bar or any where else. I completely understand crowd control but you don’t approach guests thug off the street and I really did not appreciate it at all. I was dead set against going back but my husband convinced me to go again. The employees at the door were rude… after paying for another VIP table which wasn’t as bad as my first experience but a deal breaker nonetheless. With all the steep competition in Dallas, I expected better service and again, these were VIPS tables so I can imagine the experience for guests who pay the standard cover charge is worse. The waitresses in VIP was the only good customer service I received during my two visits. The atmosphere is ghetto and guests are treated as such. Go to other diverse after hours clubs in Plano. You don’t even have to get a VIP table to get better service in a nicer atmosphere. I have not and will not be returning again.

A club at the mall? I guess that solves many parking issues but I wasn’t feeling that concept initially. The décor was straight and it was very clean. I made my way upstairs to V.I.P. area which was roomy while overlooking the dance floor below. I don’t know what the norm is as far as the attendance capacity but it seemed like it got packed really fast. Had to send all my drinks back until I finally found a bartendar that knew how to pour. That’s the one downfall about a new spot. I’ll bring my trusty flask next time…

Where do I start? The place was a mess: dirty tables everywhere(inside and out), dirty glasses, no wait staff– on 2 bartenders and a private party going with no service everyone had to come out to the main bar area. Now this is Valentines Day. Cold food, weak drinks and wrong drinks. And to top it off, they were doing loud, noisy construction in the middle of happy hour(why this was not done after hours???). The 2 bartenders were stressed yet during a great job under the conditions. Low and behold– happy hour was cheap, maybe they did not charge me due to the disorganization but they really need a good manager, this could be a great happy hour place with some bar rescue changes.

Visited Dallas/Addison area this weekend for a friends Bachelorette party and a friend and I had lunch here one of the days while shopping at the mall. It looked like a great little place to eat; the atmosphere automatically drew us in. However, I will say it was a bit bare when we first walked in. Two other tables were seated but nobody was behind the bar and no waiters/waitresses were to be seen. We seated ourselves, which was fine but it did take a few minutes for someone to come greet us. The bartender was our waitress, and even though our food came out in a decently timely manner, she wasn’t the friendliest waitress I’ve had. We almost felt like we were a nuisance rather than a paying customer. The super short/tight black shorts with tights underneath it didn’t seem appropriate for a brunch/lunch eating site, however I don’t know if they have a dress code. All in all, the food ended up being very good! I got the chicken with BBQ sauce, Bacon and cheese… with the mashed potatoes and veggies. I would recommend this place for a quick bite at the mall(I’m not sure about the bar/night scene).

I have mixed emotions. The DJs, bar and front desk staff are wonderful. It is the ladies restroom attendant on Friday and Saturday evenings that would make me NEVER go back. The women’s room attendant smokes un the stalls answer often leaves the bathroom completely unattended. When the attendant is there you are«greeted» with a scowl as she sits with arms folded in a chair against the wall. I made the mistake of walking into the unattended restroom and eating a breathmunt. The attendant came in as I was washing my hands and then helping myself to the roll of paper toweling sitting on the counter. I asked how the perfume smelled and got no answer. I then took another piece of the paper toweling and put less than half a spritz and got barked at by the attendant«That’s a dollar!» She sat in her chair with folded arms like a mad dog. I said«a dollar a squirt?» She said not a dollar a squirt but that’s a dollar. I did not pay her the dollar and jokingly said«I’ll back away from the perfume» and she rolled her eyes at me and said«hmm, thanks». As stated earlier, this women smokes in the stalls. I was once washing my hands and this women said«you ain’t gonna say nothing if I smoke in this stal» and I just looked at her as she when stumbling and mumbling into a stall as the bathroom began to get crowded and a line formed. I may go back, as the bar tender is awesome and the djs are awesome, but i will bring a survival kit for the ladies room and a spray for the smoking attendant.

Unfortunately I wasn’t impressed. Got there early to nibble on some food and have some drinks. The drinks were weak and our bartender serving us on the mall-facing side could care less that we were there. We asked for a drink menu. Nope don’t have one. We asked for some signature drink or something she liked. She suggested a Sex on the Beach. Thanks a lot. It was just all so generic. The inside where the actual club was had great potential, dance floor and large bar, great lighting! Again service was awful. Sat at a table, waitress came over and asked for our drink order. Told her to give us 5 mins, 15 mins later we left. Too bad music sounded like it was going to be good.

My sister was in town and I wanted to take her to happy hour to hang out so I decided to venture out to Shark Bar for their«legendary» Thursday Happy Hour. They had a DJ and then swing-out class was also advertised and I thought that would be right up my sister’s alley. The overall space is very nice. They have a nice section for the dance floor, two bars(there’s one outside of the actual venue space), great outdoor space with tables, chairs and loungers, there’s also space upstairs for more seating if necessary. Not highly upscale but nice and comfortable. They have a great happy hour menu special — ½ off appetizers, $ 2 Margaritas and $ 2 You Call Its(wells), not too shabby! We tried the chicken wings(lemon pepper wings — nothing spectacular but not bad at all), chicken eggrolls(DELICOUS), and had a few drinks. My only knock is the service. They either need to hire more people or upgrade their way of taking orders. We weren’t the only table having issues with getting our drinks/orders in a timely manner, the tables next to us were also upset with the wait time(you know WE are very VOCAL about SERVICE). My friend arrived around 6:30, ordered her drinks and it was well after 7pm when the waitress decided to bring them to her — ridiculous. The swing-out class was a joke. It was an old man shouting over a microphone and making fun of the people who were trying to learn how to swing-out. *shrugs* Maybe some people like that type of environment, not I.

This review is for the restaurant during lunch hours in the middle of the week. I was not aware at the time that they also operate a club. According to the bartender, its a pretty happening place on weekends. But when I was there for lunch, it certainly was not. There was one other table of patrons and one person hanging out at the bar. The restaurant is pretty dark and there are tables set in the main room and a few booths along the wall. It’s what you would expect from bar & grill however it was odd that during prime lunch hours that it would be practically empty. The food was typical bar food, not bad. The bartender was also the server, he provided excellent service and kept checking on our table. I think this place has potential on the restaurant side, they really need to up their marketing to get people in the door. All of that mall traffic and you still don’t have people there for lunch is odd. My experience was okay, I doubt I’ll return any time soon though.

This is regarding the evening events, and not the restaurant. I have been to Shark Bar a couple of times. They will charge a cover for EVERYTHING. They let in way too many people, and the crowd has become less than classy. The décor is nice, and it is an okay concept, but if you are looking for a sophisticated experience, I would not recommend. I guess the DJ was okay, but once again, it is really crowded, so who cares. The clientele? Straight out of Love and Hip Hop. Tight pants, cropped tops, bad makeup. I think I am just over the club scene. However, even if I were into it, this is not the spot.

Love this place for music and dancing on a Saturday night. The crowd was mixed but mostly younger folk. We had a table upstairs and got to people watch and had our own little private dancing area. So fun! The waitresses stayed on top of our drinks and made sure we were well taken care of.

My first time here was last night(Saturday) to watch the fight. I was with a large group and experienced bad service. Shark Bar doesn’t do well with large crowds! I arrived at 7pm before it got crowded and still waited over an hour to receive help to order my food. When my party finally ordered it took at least 35 minutes for the food to get served. I ordered a simple BLT sandwich which was good, however my friends ordered pasta and had to wait 5 minutes for silverware and napkins. The waitress said they ran out of silverware. On another note, it’s a good place to watch games due to they have several flat screen tv’s. The restrooms are on the second floor and two of the sinks had broken hot water knobs.

We went for the Soul Food Sunday Brunch and ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken is AMAZING. You should go just for that. The sides are okay. The mac and cheese is bland-definitely needs a kick. The greens are decent and spicy. My favorite part: mimosas! The brunch is not a buffet– which was advertised on the website. You pay $ 8 for bottomless mimosas, not counting the one that comes with your meal. Service was mediocre. Our waitress just didn’t get the memo on customer service. The winners: Chicken and Mimosas

Do not be deceived by the fact that the phrase«bar & grill» is included in the name of this place. It’s a nightclub. At a mall. And that’s just wrong! I’m really not trying to see gangs of girls in skin tight dresses & stilettos while I’m running into Macy’s to find some slacks for work. Other than the illogical location, the place IS nice but again… it’s IN A MALL!

A bit of a background for this review because it could very well be bumped up to the coveted and elusive«five-star review» that only the primo places receive from people who are refined enough to not use the word«primo,» let alone use it in the opening sentence of a review: we ended up here on accident on a Thursday night for dinner, and dinner only. I say that because there’s a club in the back room that gets hopping on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Being that our group had put in a full day of work and had another full day of work waiting for us the next morning, we got our dinner and drinks and never set foot into the(admittedly energetic sounding) club back in the corner of the place. So I’m capping myself at four stars because I didn’t get the«full» experience here but have little doubt I could bump this up if I put in a repeat appearance. So let’s focus on what we know: this place recently opened in the corner of Willow Bend’s food court. And it clearly does not belong with the rest of the places there since a place selling cupcakes and Sonic don’t exactly scream«Let’s hit the club tonight, guys.» I know, I know: the location has to be great for«mall traffic» and the«curious shoppers»(such as our group) but I can’t help but think this place would really take off outside the«mall» environment. And certainly away from the vacuous degradation that is The Shops at Legacy and the zombies that flock there. But it’s here and we have to make do with what we’ve got which is a pretty slick place to grab a bite to eat. You walk into a calming atmosphere of blues and moody lighting. But it’s the good kind of «moody» and not the kind of lighting that makes you think someone is going to stab you before the appetizer arrives. It’s kind of hard to explain, kind of like how there are so many seats in the main dining room yet the overall place feels empty. It’s kind of weird but who cares when there is an expansive patio to patrol and beer to drink? We walked in from the mall area and sat ourselves before our waitress came right over to take our drink order. We would have sat at the bar save for the fact that the majority of its seats were taken and the bar is about the size of a large SUV. You either get to the bar early or you be prepared to get cozy with your fellow bar patrons because there’s not a lot of room there. Anyway, in seconds we had our beers and were looking at a simple(read: small) menu. What you see(or «sea») is what you get but at least it’s really good. A table nearby was chomping down on some spinach and artichoke dip as if it were going out of style(yeah, right) and tables all around us were enjoying their drinks. There was even a table of a family of four, so it’s not like this place caters exclusively to the drinkers or the people who want to flirt shamelessly with the bartender who was quite adept at shooting down people who realistically had no chance. It was pretty awesome. The grilled tuna sandwich met with approval, as did my burger with a more than generous helping of fried jalapenos. There was also a sales pitch for some fried donut dessert things that I gladly would have sprung for if my stomach was not waging war with fried jalapenos and Heinekens. They at least sound like a good reason to come back. And our girl was spot on in paying attention: a group of us guys decided we should take a «tacky» picture with the resident mall Santa Claus and post it to Facebook because we are all in dire need of attention. To make a long story short, the guy in charge of the photo left it on the table after we left and when we returned almost an hour later, the photo and the bag it was in found safety behind the counter where we could reclaim it. Good thing, too, since I don’t think any of us were about to wait in line for another«tacky» picture with a Santa who was clearly tired of us and our shenanigans. Oh, also, we did shots for posterity because of course we did. And the bartender was quick on the delivery and the service, probably because we were belonging to the 1⁄3 of the bar patrons who were still capable of speaking in complete sentences at that point. Again, you really have to take this review with the caveat that I was only there for dinner and did not see the back half of the place. But judging from some other reviews and from the Web site of the place, the club life is pretty happening. Sure, it’s beyond counter-intuitive to go to a mall for your«clubbing» fix but what have you got to lose? Willow Bend needs a shot of life to get itself reenergized and this place might be the catalyst needed.
