Always fantastic service and amazing quality. Yes, you will pay more for their meats than you will at the grocery store, but you get what you pay for. Hand made fresh sausage, hand cut meat cut to order, very clean, very friendly. What more could you want? My only concern is that depending on the day that you go, the meat selection can be a little lacking. They will often be out of a cut of meat or two, but they are quick to offer suggestions for other cuts. Overall, this is a great place! Go check them out if you like high quality meats!

T-bones for our grilling come from here always!!! Seriously for $ 35 per t-bone you get a huge price of excellent meat which is enough for 2 people! Bratwurst is always a good appetizer for our steaks :) and my second favorite from here is stuffed flounder!!! Seriously a large selection of meat, beer and wine. Their wine selection is really good! The butcher is always super nice and friendly. Quality of the meat is excellent and we never had a bad cut of meat here…

This place is awesome! The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I was deciding between different meats. The butcher was very helpful and patient while I was making my decision. I also got help while I was deciding between some wines. I came out with a delicious standing rib roast and two great bottles of wine. The quality of the meat was great. The prices here were reasonable. I’ll be back!

I’ve been impressed with the quality of the meat sold here, the pricing, and the customer service. They’re always friendly, quick, and knowledgeable. I’ve been buying meat(steaks, roasts, hamburger, bacon, and sausage) for the family here since the place first opened. Going back to the poor quality meats sold at grocery stores for the same(or higher) prices just isn’t an option. Matador also has a nice selection of wines and unique beers if you’re interested. I personally don’t drink but Matador has some very satisfied customers on that front based upon the comments I hear when shopping there.

I buy my oxtail and bone marrow cuts here. I used to buy them at Central Market and Whole Foods, but I’ve been buying them at Matador now because it tastes better. I am also able to tell the butcher how I like them to be cut. It’s not cheap, but I like to think that paying for quality meat and bones is still cheaper than eating out. I haven’t bought any other cuts of meat here, but they look so good I’m tempted to do so next time. Mmmm… roasted bone marrow with capers and shallots and a touch of balsamic vinegar… it’s oogey gooey heaven on a crostini.

We always get our steaks here and they have never failed us. If I have questions anyone there has excellent, well-informed answers. If you’re looking for steaks to impress, to have that Capital Grille taste at home, if you owe someone a thank you, this is the place to go. They also have great sausage, chicken, and cuts you can’t find elsewhere, with a lovely stash of wine! Definitely the place to go.

Bought a Ribeye late Sunday. They were cleaned out but just happened to have a few left. It was not bad, actually very good. As they were wrapping that up I saw they had breakfast sausage(Might of been on Sale) anyway the guy who could of been the owner said they are great and excellent on a muffin with cheese. Yes he was right. It was excellent

Awesome steaks, including a few cuts of beef that you just can’t find elsewhere, including tri-tip & picahna. They also have a great selection of craft beers and wine.

We went here because of the reviews but I only half good feeling about this place the skirt steak was really tender and flank steak was okay. I probably wont go back the owner wasn’t that nice made us feel awkward even told him it was our first time to strike a conservation and that’s when it got awkward So we just order what we could and just paid and left I will definitely not go back.

Came by for the first time. One word: excellent. The owner helped me and answered any questions I had about the meats offered. I settled for the dry aged prime bone in ribeye and prime filet. He even suggested their version of hardwood coal for my Green Egg. Grilled them and they both tasted top notch.

Don’t take your deer here. Jalapeño cheese sausage didn’t seem to have any cheese(maybe they didnt use high temperature cheese). They didn’t cut the venison with any fat or pork so it was extremely dry. Love them for their standard offerings, but won’t take a deer back. I now go to Old Towne in Lewisville.

Been shopping here for years. Picked up two filets and some custom made brisket, jalapeño, and cilantro /lime sausage last night. Best meat ever! Absolutely the most flavor, smoothest most tender meat anywhere… Recommend everyone who enjoys awesome meats to buy from Matador! You will be a customer for life!,

Hidden behind a plaza off Headquarters and Preston, this place is pretty neat. Lots of fresh meats to choose from, and a plentiful selection of wines and a handful of craft beers. We tried the jerk and texas hot links sausages. We threw them in the smoker for 1.5−2 hrs, and they were pretty tasty. It might’ve been a little overcooked, but the flavors were decent. I couldn’t taste the jerk seasoning at all, but it may have come out more if we grilled them instead. The hot links were HOTHOTHOT. Be careful! I can’t wait to try out their steaks next! Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Apparently they bought out the unit next door and will be opening a restaurant too. Woo hoo!

I would strongly urge every one to find a butcher and find one now! I will likely visit this place and pick something up every time I venture home. The place looks like a wine cellar mixed with a… well a butcher’s place. Once you walk in, they have an impressive rack of wines that I assume would pair great with their meat. As for the smell, it is hard to describe other than I wished everything smelled like this place does. It’s like bacon and heaven and all things good kind of smell. The staff is great! I assume the person who i’ve been helped by was the owner but if not he works the place as if he is. He’s very friendly and informative. I never leave this place empty handed or feeling cheated in some way. Price wise, I’d say this place is superb. They always seem to have sales going on and for the price of what you’d pay for steak at your local supermarket, you get a far better qualiity of meat cut just the way you like it here! The other day, I bought a one and a half inch thick KC bone-in strip for $ 8!!! You’d be crazy to buy anywhere else. Highly recommend Matador.

This place has a good selection of custom cut meat and fine wine. The gal who was the in-store wine expert, so I imagine, gave me a good idea of what wines were to steer to and which to maybe save for the next go. They were sampling two, and I purchased one. Then we wandered over to the meat counter because I was in the mood for a good steak. Now, if you’re looking for a good grocery store cut of meat, you’re in the wrong place. The butcher cut us two one inch bone in ribeyes for dinner. The Giant kept asking me: are you sure you want one that big? Yep. After application of the Giant’s custom marinade, the steaks were grilled outside and all I can say is that I was speechless. And yes, I ate the whole thing! We’ll be back! Hope these folks make it because it’s one fine place to get your gourmet on.

My husband and I were despairing over our return to blah suburbia after spending 7 months in Foodie Heaven(aka Seattle) within walking distance of Pike’s market and our favorite butcher. «How can we go back to Tom Thumb or Costco after that?» we wondered. My amateur chef husband was determined to find some way to obtain veal bones for his favorite stock and demi glacé recipes, and he began calling restaurants around Frisco. One steakhouse told him to check his grocery store. Um… Really? Finally he happened to find Matador Meats on the internet. We were shocked at how close it was(meat-loving Hubby was ready to drive 3 hours if he had to), and we were even more surprised to find such a lovely store and beautiful supply of meat. Customer service is wonderful, and the butcher even answered Hubby’s questions over the phone when he needed to know about thawing the veal bones before roasting them.(Turns out it doesn’t make a difference.) We are now driving home with our second treasure from Matador Meats– stew meat for Boeff Borgignon and a pound of in-house cured bacon. Next time maybe we will try some steaks and one of the wines recommended by the owners. So great!
