6 years ago, I gave this place a 5 star review and expounded its greatness. A lot has transpired in this place since that time, none of it for the better. Over the last year, I have given this place the benefit of the doubt a half dozen times or more, and each time I’ve been let down. Whether it was sub par food, poor service, lack of cleanliness, or a combination of the three, something always kept this place from being what it once was. When the own was on site, things were amazing, but since he’s(apparently) stepped away, this place has gone down the drain. After yesterday, a day where the wait staff couldn’t have possibly cared less, I won’t be giving this place any more chances. Instead, Basera’s Indian Cuisine will be getting my business exclusively. At least with them, I can count on the food actually being hot.

We tried Iravat today for the first time after hearing from several friends that it was good and it is five minutes from home. I was a bit nervous after reading some reviews regarding poor service. I can safely say that service was perfect today. We had the buffet, and our plates were cleaned quickly each time, and our glasses were filled before they were empty. I really enjoyed the dishes I tried(the goat curry and a vegetable/cheese dish with yellow sauce were my favorites). There were both spicy and more mild options, and there was a good variety of standards, unique dishes, sides, and desserts. We went home quite full. Everything was fresh, especially the naan that they brought right to the table(standard practice). We took a three– and one-year-old and found that we were not the only ones with small children there to dine. Even with families it wasn’t loud. I don’t know if weekday prices are even lower, but we paid less than $ 25 for two people, tax, and tip on a Sunday. Overall, we will be going back again.

We started coming here when we were still exploring Indian food. We still come here because of the goat curry. They always have it and my husband looks forward to it. We prefer buffets for the variety and Iravats has a good selection for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Usually their Tandoori chicken is still moist, no matter the time. They do not get grumpy about refilling an empty item. Their Naan is fresh and brought to your table. They have all the condiments and thali to put soups and sauces in. Generally the food is good, although I find the Butter Chicken less and less unctuous as time goes by. We drive 37 miles to have lunch here. There is no Indian food where we live south of Dallas and we drive up 75 on Central Expressway passing all other Indian restaurant options to eat here. Iravats is priced reasonably and the food is good. The lone server, occasionally servers, are usually running their bu*ts off; but will get you whatever you need.

Food is pretty good! I have eaten here a couple times in the past couple years. I give two stars because I have had some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced. I even went back another time just in case it was an off day. The cooks could be great, the owners could be amazing but the wait staff is pretty rude and don’t hide it. I even started only getting my food to-go, but still the wait staff didn’t listen to my requests or questions. Recommending passing on this place… Just my personal opinion and everyone I’ve taken to eat there.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the DFW area. They have a great buffet, when ever I went, I found the following items to be exceptional: Chicken curry, Chicken fried items, Chicken tikka masala, Tandoori, Goat Curry, fried okra and Nan. Overall the meals are fantastic The service is good. The price is reasonable.

I’d start off the review with what they start your meal with. COMPLEMENTARYPAPADS And not the regular non crunchy papad. Their Papads are fresh and served with different chutneys. All their curries come in two options. Stand alone(with rice/naan) and as a thali combo. The thali is humongous and more than enough for two people. I tried the malai kofta and it was very tasty. Also their Dosas are really good. I like my Dosas crispy and they happily obliged to my request.(Tip: ask for the stuffing on the side that way it won’t make your dosa soggy). The Dosas come with Coconut Chutney and Sambar. Both of them are fresh and tasty. I have also had a chance to try their Chhole Bhature. The bhaturas were fresh, soft and to my pleasant surprise, not oily like you’d find in most Indian restaurants. The pricing is right too. For the quantity and quality of food they serve, their prices are more than fair. I’ll be returning to Iravat for my next quick Indian fix.

Very good indian food. Prices and service are good. I’ve tried 4 – 5 different menu items and have liked all of them. I have only eaten chicken dishes.

The place exist around for so long. It’s about time they stop going down the hill, change their menu a little bit and start improving. Lately the food has been just miss and miss

This place used to be my favorite Indian restaurant in DFW. However, it’s drastically gone down hill in the recent years. I used to love their lunch buffets since they always had a decent variety of food that was always well prepared. However, the last few times I’ve come here, the food has been off. A chicken dish would be too salty, naan would be burnt crisp, or a hot dish would be cold. The food isn’t the only thing that has gone downhill in the recent years. The service has been pretty non-existent. We barely saw our server after they took our order the first time. All in all, just a decent place that I would visit for a quick lunch. But, it is nothing out of the ordinary.

Love this place! Whether you order in the restaurant, al la cart or buffet or get to go its consistently good. Impressive spice levels, great flavors. We catered for a large event as well and the prices, service, delivery, and quantity well phenomenal. I frequent this place often. Have not been disappointed yet.

One of the best, affordable, value-for-money Indian restaurants in the metroplex. I have ordered food from Iravat three times and each time I have been blown away by the value, flavor, and taste of the food. Most Indian places provide only rice or naan with their curries, if at all, while Iravat offers BOTH naan and rice with their curries. Superb value. Their chicken butter cream is fantastic, and my wife is a huge fan of their paneer curries while their chicken tikka masala is succulent and elegantly spiced. The samosas are large and paired with their dipping sauce are a great appetizer. We always have food left over so one order lasts at least two meals! Try this place for Indian. You won’t be disappointed, and I’ve driven 80 minutes round trip to enjoy their food.

Okay so here’s the thing: the food here is GREAT. My lamb korma was unbelievable; flavorful, rich, tender, everything you could want. The dal was awesome, even the raita, and I loved the chickpea salad I got too. But the service… man, the service. It was bad enough that I had to dock two stars. I used to work in food service, so I understand when mistakes are made or things are running behind, and I’m super patient about that. But the one thing I can’t tolerate is a waitstaff that doesn’t give a shi*t. The hostess was unsmiling, sullen, silent, and grudging. I smiled at her and tried to be friendly because sometimes that will make someone who is shy open up, but I got no response from her. The food runner seemed awkward and afraid, and eager to get away as soon as he could. The one exception was the bus boy, who checked up on us a few times and refilled everything and was pretty much the only person who seemed awake. Dirty empty plates remained on the table throughout the meal, and when we were done it was a very long wait for someone to come clear up and offer us the check. We were taking our leftovers home, and I was disappointed to be handed a stack of styrofoam cups and an empty plastic bag instead of having everything taken and packed up for us. I mean, we had gotten the dinner combo, so there were four little sides and the mains and the rice, plus the leftover appetizer, so it was a lot to manage and it felt kind of lazy on their part to just be like«Do it yourself.» We still left a generous tip, because I really hate to be a jerk, but when we got up and left and walked RIGHTPAST the waitstaff they didn’t say goodbye, or thanks, or anything. Just totally ignored us. I really kind of regret leaving that tip now. In summary, if you live nearby, the food is totally worth it, but order out. Don’t eat in. It’s a waste of a tip and the atmosphere(mostly empty on a Saturday night, unlit candle on the table, Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles playing in the background) is just not fun. It’s a perfect candidate for takeout. We went to Kumar’s first and couldn’t even get a table because they were so packed, and next time we will make a reservation and hope for food that’s as good there, but with service that seems conscious and awake.

good food. Tandoori dishes are fresh but their marinade lacks some flavor and spiciness. We’ve coming here for 7 – 8 years. Food is very flavorful, not like some new places popping up in the town, with no flavor at all and super expensive. Iravat is the best value for your money and authentic Indian taste. Please don’t change what you are doing, Iravat.

We wanted to try something different and the waiter recommended the Fried Cauliflower. It was amazing! We also ordered the Chicken Masala and the Ginger Fish and it was the best we have had in the area! Great service and great food! We will definitely be back for more!

I used Unilocal to find an Indian restaurant for lunch. I have been to India several times and love the food. When I entered I observed that most of the patrons were Indian, a good sign! I hand the buffet lunch for less than $ 10 and was very happy with the selection and quality. I will be back!
