This is a review for the restaurant in Marriott Plano’s breakfast buffet. Yes it’s expensive, as is not surprising for a major hotel chain. But the layout for breakfast was perfect. Nothing really imaginative, but everything was well organized, easy to find, fresh and well prepared and the perfect selection for a full american breakfast. Kudos for the service, food, layout of buffet. Can’t think of anything they could have possibly improved. Fork over your $ 20 and chow down. If you walk in not expecting a bargain and not expecting an unusual foodie menu, you’ll leave full and happy. Neighbor table ordered off the menu and were also very happy with their dishes. Oh, and wife also enjoyed how they have salt hand scrub in the ladies room. No, I’m not affiliated with Marriott. Disclaimer: eggs and bacon were directly involved in the creation of this review.

This review is of just the Copper Bottom Grill located inside the Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center. And if you will see the photos on the Marriott website, yes this place does look like this. I spent three days in the lobby and conference rooms and it is lavish and beautiful. But let’s touch on the restaurant. While their website does not have a name for it listed, my receipt says the Copper Bottom Grill. And it’s the easiest, fastest place to eat at when stay here, as it is in the same building with the entrance only a few paces from the front counter. I am not complaining about the breakfast I ate there. There had been an ice storm and I didn’t want to drive anywhere. And the breakfast buffet style was acceptable. I’m just complaining about the price. I guess I should have asked first. The breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, bread, coffee, orange juice was almost exactly of the same type and quality that comes free every morning at the Marriott in downtown Chicago. And I wish I hadn’t been so lazy to toss $ 17(including tip for a guy to bring me orange juice) to the wind. If you don’t care how much it costs and don’t want something unique or memorable, sure it’s fine. But here’s a tip. Walk out the front door and turn left. Walk down that street and stop by the Main Street Bistro and Bakery. It will cost you half as much for some unique food that is enjoyable and memorable.
