Marriot Residance Inn Plainview

The hotel itself is lovely. .wouldn’t expect what you get from a cursory view. Beautiful, clean rooms, resort worthy pool and delicious food. Staff is friendly and very helpful. But…
For business purposes, I have been staying here for more than a year and my biggest complaint is by far, the rude, snowbird guests! They have such a sense of entitlement. They are rude, self serving, pushy and bossy! For breakfast and dinner, they will push in front of you in the buffet line, steal your seat (and place setting) if you’re in the buffet line… they sit at their tables for hours on end, making it impossible for other guests to sit and eat. I even witnessed a fight because one guest simply LOOKED at a table to determine if someone was still sitting there.
The hotel staff should do something about them but they don’t. It makes for a frustrating start and end to one’s day… and makes for what could be a pleasant stay, not fun!

Parking inside is limited. The conference room is smack in the middle of residence areas so while waiting for our meeting an angry old man said you cant be talking early people are sleeping … Mind you he was dressed for the day and not in pjs!
Our meeting was scheduled for 830. Once we got inside The buffet was not set up. The tables were not set with the usual note pads and water glasses. So when our meeting began that was when the staff had to walk around to all the tables. Definitely distracting! The air conditioning was non existent. Usually these places are freezing not today.
They also did not have the projector screen connected to work or an IT person availiable until 930! Once the IT person came it was well blah so our poor presenter had to present via laptop! And with 40+ ppl it made it a little difficult.
The breakfast was standard eggs bacon home fries muffins bagels. One of the juices wasnt labeled so we did noy know what it was. Basic tea and coffee. and some fresh fruit.
I believe the person in charge of our group decided to not hold any further meetings here. Frankly i wouldnt either. Unorganized, unprepared, not a fan. This was our first and probably last time here… Left us all disapplinted…

Hidden retreat in the Heart of Plainview. Would never realize how nice and large this hotel is without going inside. All the ammenties of the multi story Marriots. Two restaurants indoor outdoor pool, Sauna, fitness centers.
