I’ve used this store a number of times but not again. Last Sunday I tried to make a purchase. The store was not busy. Unfortunately the staff were more interested in signing up the lady at the register for a credit card than taking money from paying customers. All the while registers were vacant and staff standing around. First rule of retail, if a customer is ready to buy take their money. I ended up leaving my purchases and walking out and I won’t be back.

The rating quote is «I’ve experienced better’. And I have, it was called Pier 1, but it was 8 years ago. What has happened to Pier 1? I realize that they are in «turn-around» mode, but they have stayed in the early 90s with almost everything they sell and then raised the prices to nearly double what they used to be on almost everything in the store. This used to be a place I would shop and buy at regularly because even though they were not necessarily the highest quality, you could at least count on them to have SOME kind of modern flair happening that would afford you a new chair or lamp or accessory that was NEW, not some rehashed idea from 10 years ago at double the price. And the colors… the palette has stagnated to the point of idiocy. EVERYTHING is still jewel tones, still dark wood tones. Zero new colors. No spa colors, no grays, no light woods. Who are the buyers and have the seen a magazine lately? Either this is just the midwest stores(which it might be) or the entire organization is no longer relevant for interiors. They’ve lost me as a customer for good. Buh-bye Pier 1.

I’ve always experienced above par customer service at this location. Staff always ask me if I need help and mention sales, but they aren’t overbearing or pushy. I typically look for steals in their clearance areas, or I’m shopping for gifts for other people. Big fan of their hand soap + lotion combo sets.
