Bellacino’s Pizza & Grinders

Best pizza in Plainfield. Everyone should come some. But in bad location.

A few of my friend’s had talked this place up before I went for the first time, so maybe I had some heightened expectations before I walked in their door. I’m sad to say, though, that I was not impressed at all with this Bellacino’s. The dining area was pretty dirty and gross, but honestly, some good food can quickly make up for any décor problems a restaurant might have… but that was the problem. The food was equally disappointing.
I got the meatball sub and the meatballs were still partially frozen in the center and a strange texture. The flavor was pretty off too, but that could have been because they were partially cooked. My hubby got the Italian sub which he said was «okay» and a side of fries. Now, I concede that getting fries is a HORRIBLE selection at an Italian restaurant and I was a little embarrassed that he ordered it in the first place. However, the fries were also a strange texture and cold when they arrived at our table.
I hope that maybe I just caught these guys on an off day, considering some other positive reviews. Bummer.

This pizza is just not good. I wanted to like it, but its terrible. I opened it up before I left and the 2 topping pizza I ordered and paid for was only halfway covered with minimal toppings. (see picture). The worst part is when I complained about it the girls just laughed, and said it looked like I ordered a half and half. I said NO I did not order a half and half. They never apologized, they didn’t offer to remake the pizza, or any other compensation. So I just said fine, and left (my mistake, I was just too hungry to deal with incompetence without making a scene). Then when I got it home to eat… realized they are just as skimpy with the sauce. So basically I bought cheese and bread and paid $ 12 for it. I will not be returning, this pizza is disgusting.

I love this place. The food is always made to order and, though it may take a little extra time, I’m willing to wait. My usual is the half Italian Grinder and its always delicious. The pizza is great too! Bellacino’s always delivers!

We’re always looking for good pizza places on the Westside, and we found another when we went to Bellacino’s. Absolutely loved the breadsticks. Just the right amount of parmesan on them. The pizza, while a bit on the greasy side, was still pretty good. I particularly liked the crust. Locally, I’d pick Rock Star over them, but that’s just my personal preference. Both are good and are worth a try. I’ll likely give one of their grinders a try during my next visit.

Great Bellacinos. My grinder runneth over! They don’t skimp at all! Don’t forget to have them cut it in half… makes it a lot easier to eat. My wife got a BLT and actually had to take some bacon off! Whoever heard of having too much bacon? Is that even possible?

This place reminds me of a place in Kalamazoo called Mancino’s. It’s a chain. I’ve had it in Cincy and other places. It’s good.
Their grinders are really good.
I had the pizza sub and it was very tasty.
I haven’t had a chance to try anything else on the menu, but will definitely check it out again while I’m in town.

Their sandwiches are really delish!
I called in one day just looking for something different and it was a great surprise. I kind of wish I had one right now!
We had two different sandwiches and they were both loaded with toppings and fresh baked. Kitchen looked clean and organized, too, from what I could see from the counter.
When I went to pick it up, it was pretty crowded and kids were running around like wild animals. It was a huge mess, but I attribute that to the parents of the wild animals.
Plus, their lil sandwich boxes are SO CUTE. It’s like a pizza box, but sandwich shaped!

My boyfriend’s family and I got two full size Italian Grinders to go last weekend. They called and were quoted 10 minutes! Super fast!
So my boyfriend and I split one and it was delicious! My boyfriend and his family have eaten these grinders many times but this was my first time. His dad claimed that there were less toppings than usual but I doubt it could have been much. Plenty of toppings and so tasty! I even ate it with mushrooms and green peppers (just no onion) which I don’t usually and I loved every bite!
I will have to keep this in mind for a quick meal again. Oh and since we split the biggest size it was a super affordable meal! Would love to see if other menu options are also such a good deal!
