I entered the store at 13321 s rte 59 in Plainfield IL at 8:35pm and requested a battery check. The check was completed and deemed I needed a new battery. After looking up my car, and pulling the battery he said I could buy it but he wouldn’t be able to put it in because it was too late. I said I understood and bought the battery to take home to have my husband install. My receipt is 8:47pm. However, upon leaving my car wouldn’t start in the parking lot. I went back inside, explained that the car wouldn’t start and the battery was still not installed. Instead he offered to jump start it! Really? I said ok. He tried 2 machines without success. Now it is closing time, so he said I will need to call my husband for jumper cables to come. Really??? I was in such shock. I said this is an auto parts store and you guys should have these cables. Honestly, I was completely shocked. Seems absurd to me to have to call someone to come jump start my car with cables when I’m in the parking lot of Auto Zone and I have a brand new battery in the front seat that your employee wouldn’t install because it was too late. He did go get cables and successfully jump start it after I absolutely refused to call someone. The extra time this all took could have been avoided if it was installed like your store says it will do when I purchased it during store hours. This was my first and last time to Auto Zone.

Decent, helpful staff, but the usual stuff you find in any AutoZone… All the green tree air freshners, and fuzzy dice your hearts could wish for.
