Stopped by for lunch today, and I should note that they open at 11, not 10:30 like Unilocal says. We were trying to hit up a real early lunch like we’re 65, but had to wait until they opened. Anyway. I ordered the fish and chicken strip combo, my husband got the fish and calamari. They have a ton of options for customization, and I think they’re all basically in the $ 8 – 10 range. Our lunch set us back $ 18. The food was cooked fresh to order, and came out piping hot. My fish was great, although a little skimpy on the fish part(thin piece). My chicken had an odd aftertaste. It wasn’t bad, but I think fish is probably their forte. The fries were about what you would expect — frozen from a bag, but still hot and tasty. It’s real hard to mess up fries. They had a banner that said New Management — I have no idea if it is better or worse than before, as this was my first time, but my experience was good and I will go again when the craving strikes.

Sign says open until 9. Unilocal says open till 9. The lights were on, the front door was still open. But they refused to serve me 30 minutes before their supposed closing time. Uncool.

Early Saturday evening meal. Hadn’t had fish in a long time. Had been here before and it was okay, so we decided to do a quick, cheap fish dinner. Surprise! Restaurant has been redecorated and was Under New Management. Surprised again when we got our food. Previously the food was heavily breaded and a little greasy. now very light breading, very crispy, crunchy and piping hot! Had 2 pieces with fries for $ 7.50, which was less than I paid before! Good quality! I recommend it!

Stellar sea food! Decently priced. I can vouche for the calamari and shrimp. We watched her hand batter each one back there and the guy at the counter is funny and very nice. A quaint and quiet place to eat some great food, cooked fresh and fast.

We came to visit on our way back from Tahoe; they are open on Christmas! They were pretty busy(nothing else was open, not even the McDonalds next door) and we had about a half our wait but the food was hot and good. Their clam chowder is not as creamy as I would’ve liked but calamari and fish and chips were good, and the fried clam was interesting. Very yummy, and very friendly and responsive employees!’

Excellent London style fish and chips. Simple little store but excellent service and good food. Fish is fresh and lightly breaded for a good taste. Optional other items include prawns, ie. shrimp, others seafood.

Amazingly fresh and delicious food! We stopped by on our way home from Apple Hill and were pleasantly surprised by this little hole in the wall. Both the fish and chicken strips were hand breaded right in front of us, and served piping hot. The portions are decent too. Overall a great meal for a good value.

Mmmm mm mmm. Good. I wasn’t even hungry and my husband took me here. I couldn’t stop eating. The fish was perfectly crisp and fluffy at the same time. The portions were huge. Ordered 3 pieces and got 4 giant pieces of fish. My 7 year old daughter loved the fish. Fries were delcious. Good price.

Stopped for lunch after spending some time at Apple Hill. Ordered fried fish and had some rice from the place next door. Heaven! It was so good! We ate outside because we were there with our dog, but that also meant we could finish our meal with a slice of pie from Apple Pantry.

Previous review was done awhile ago, evidently before new management. Had the one piece cod with chips. I thought that the quality and quantity had improved since my last visit, hence the extra star. The one piece was plenty large and the batter was light and crispy and the fish was moist. It came out of the kitchen piping hot. The only negative was that it took approx. 15 minutes to get the order out, but if you have the time that would not present any problem. It is better to have everything freshly made than to have it sitting out under a heat lamp.

I’ve been looking for a good place for fish and chips and this place if the place. It’s so awesome to find a great restaurant the first week you move to a new place and this was it. The staff is friendly and the food is great, even beat all of the fish and chips places I tried in Las Vegas. Highly suggest coming in and giving it a try.

I don’t normally give out 5 stars but this place deserves it simply for the prawns alone. Perfectly cooked, crispy and juicy on the inside, it’s the best fried prawns I’ve ever had. Fish and fries are also very good and is a generous size. The lady who cooks this is like a deep frying wizard. She makes everything so super crispy but not greasy and perfect on the inside. So if you’re heading out to Lake Tahoe, stop at Placerville and give this place a try, it’s worth it!!!

Started a Unilocal account for this review. This place is excellent. Crispy delicious fish with amazing tartar sauce and they don’t forget the malted vinegar with to go orders. Recommend making the fries a little crispier(ask for extra crispy) and it would be nice if they sold beer(maybe they’re working on it?) The new management is really doing it right. Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to this place. We needed a quick bite before getting our taxes done. The Mrs. and I both ordered fish & chips from the nicest lady. Seriously, she made us feel so welcome. Our orders came up after a bit of a wait. Both meals were served hot and crisp. The fish was cut a bit thin but had great flavor. The chips were pretty average. We used quite a bit of the tartar sauce as it was surprisingly good. Overall we really liked this out of the way joint and will be back for sure.

I like this place. While the ‘chips’ are unremarkable, the fish is fresh, expertly filleted, with batter that is crispy, flavorful, and light(not greasy or overpowering). Not being a fan of plain old fried oysters and clams, I tend to stick with the fish, which has never disappointed. Tarter and cocktail sauce are good, and the tempura zucchini is delicious. While this is strictly strip mall atmosphere, it is clean, with friendly, owner operated service.

Ok I’m mixed as to how to review this place: On the one hand is the food and on the other hand is the way it’s ran(we all know that it matters!). As far as the fish ‘n chips are concern, it was decently fresh but was as if they filleted the fillet or something… There was just no girth to the fillets ATALL.(Could it be because I used a Groupon!!! Hmmmm, that’s enough to make me want to try this place again one day just to verify my suspicion.) On the other hand is their respect for their restaurant and in affect their customers as well. We’ve all gone into places where the bathrooms and dining room are so unkept that it makes you wonder if they even respect themselves let alone their restaurant or their customers… Well these folks definitely treat their restaurant with the respect a business and it’s customers deserve. It’s as clean and welcoming as any fine dining establishment can be, minus the snobbery! So I’m basically concluding that this place does deserve your visit if you’re in the mood for f’n chips. I’ll update y’all regarding the Groupon bias once I’ve confirmed one way or the other.
