Everything was good until my food came. Our server brought me the complete wrong thing and I explained that there must have been a mistake. I hate to get upset with anyone in the service industry so I was trying to be polite but our server was really hostile and upset about this, putting all of the blame on me. I finally got what I wanted and it was good but the whole experience was disappointing. I pleaded for her to let me pay for the extra dish which she didn’t so I left a way too big tip of a tip. If you are in this area, I may suggest finding somewhere else to eat.

The mexican waitress with a pony tail is rude and communicates in a form of a talking down at the customers not talking to. She ignored me while I was giving her my order, I guess I was not important enough for her to wait untill I finished reading from the menue to her, stuff I wanted to order. She totally left and started punching something on her little calculator. She was so rude and so unfriendly, I said forget the order got up and left and I am glad I did, ended up in a much better place called sweetie pie. Her teeth were really yellow too…

Good service. Biscuits and gravy are fine. Waffle was lukewarm and syrup was cold. The waffle was in a plate that was way too small. $ 5.75 seems like a lot for a plain waffle.

Nothing about our meal was good. From the service to the cold food. The waitress brought me my meal, while my boyfriend got his food 10 minutes later, and when I asked to speak with management they totally ignored me, Will not do that again!

The people who work at this establishment know how to treat their customers! Delicious food that is well put together, clean atmosphere and excellent service. We stop in before heading up the hill to the cabin, and it’s always a great experience.

A great place for breakfast with the best omelets for miles around, clean place with kitchen open to view for customers and very nice employees a place to go on any day but watch out for Sunday mornings it gets pretty busy with families. but they have room for all.

Wanted a quick breakfast on the way to Tahoe and this hit the spot! Waffles were crispy and fluffy, eggs well cooked, and everything came out fast and hot. All the staff were friendly and efficient, brightening up the 70s HoJo interior on a grey day. Nothing super fancy but a satisfying stop.

One of our favorite places to stop on way home from Tahoe. Very good portions, tasty, variety of items and reasonably priced.

In Placerville last weekend for a wedding and had the opportunity to brunch here twice. As other reviewers have noted, the place certainly isn’t much to look at. On the first occasion I sat at the counter by myself and ordered the Golden Skillet. Staff was super friendly, attentive and pleasant. The food was perfectly cooked, tasted great, was a generous portion and didn’t cost much. On the second occasion I sat in a booth with friends and ordered the California omelette. The dish was quite well presented, cooked perfectly, tasted great, and the portion was perfect for me, costing less than the skillet the previous day. Again, staff was super friendly and paid extra attention to the 2 year old sitting with us. We left a 50% tip in appreciation for the positive experience.

A little worn, but great service and decent food. Two pieces of toast, so they’re swimming up-stream against the current disturbing trend of offering only one piece of toast that I have noticed in some places. The deprivation of a single slice to accrue a savings of ten cents(butter and electricity included) is annoying, and– thankfully– the Golden Waffle has not succumbed to such foolishness. Didn’t try their waffles.

Pretty good cheese chili omelette served with hash browns and 2 bisquets and gravy. Not cheap at about $ 10 per, but the service was great. Coffee was refilled frequently but I wish the coffee was better.

Stepped out of the oil slicked, rainy, asphalt strip of strip malls that is 2015 Placerville and directly into the low ceiling fanned, yellow uniformed, warm incandescent glow on brown and orange vinyl of 1976 Hangtown. Greeted and treated with pride and joy, start to finish. $ 11 for coffee, corned beef hash, house potatoes, two eggs over medium, and, somehow, an included full two biscuits and gravy, all tasting exactly the way it should(Sysco, not Frisco). An excellent and accurate execution of the greasy spoon ethos, and a living period piece on the way things used to be, at the price it used to cost. Next time you see an Applebees commercial with smiling young faces on minimum wage workers, serving golden retriever soccer practice families perfectly arranged plates of steaming signature dishes, know that joints like Golden Waffle are the mother substance on which that fake, focus group, corporate form is directly based.

Ordered«El Rancho Omelet.» Ordered coffee(slight bitterness, otherwise very good, and hot!). The omelet is DELICIOUS! Sausage, peppers, onions, cheddar and Monterey cheeses, spinach. Perfect! The Biscuits are real! Gravy is almost perfect! Peppery, but could use sausage. Potatoes decent. Alexa is very pleasant to talk with. She is hostess. Sue was my waitress. Very pleasant lady also. Clean restaurant, excellent COUNTRY music(good ol’ outlaw and old time country music, you won’t here Gretchen Wilson or Nickleback here! Thank you, God!!). Come here and give it a try!

So I enjoyed this visit. The french Toast was really good, Eggs were cooked exactly as ordered and my food was served promptly. The server was friendly and attentive and I was greeted when I entered. That said, the staff here are hit and miss. Though this time was very nice, the last time I was here the waitstaff was surly, inattentive, and ignored anyone who didn’t look like they spoke spanish.

Good for Placerville. My food tasted good, but was a little dry. Dry toast & dry eggs. I also feel like every restaurant should give everyone water with their meals, even if they’ve ordered another drink. We ordered hot cocoa & coffee, then had to ask for waters once we started eating. The waiters seem good, but I feel like they need a little more small-town charm to match the design & atmosphere. I would come here again with family.

Literally just got done eating from here and I wanted to leave a nice review! I was craving a burrito on the way home from tahoe but boyfriend wanted breakfast so I said okay, hoping that this place had breakfast burritos– and they did! Two burritos + hashbrowns for around $ 10 and I totally think it was worth it. I got mine with sausage and no salsa or cheese and I had to have my boyfriend help me finish my plate. Service was also great, the man working was super friendly! I’d definitely return!

Stopped here for breakfast on the way home from Tahoe. Fast, friendly service with good food and generous portions! Pancakes were delicious & buttery. Waffles had perfectly crisp edges. Half order of biscuits & gravy was awesome and enough for two. Eggs and bacon were cooked well, too. Overall, very satisfied with our visit and we’ll definitely stop there again!
