Really enjoyed the hour or so we spent at the St. Sebastian festival last night! The St. Sebastian complex has fairly extensive grounds, and for this almost week-long festival(July 7 – 12, 2014) the space is jam-packed with rides, game vendors, food vendors, raffle booths, etc. A very efficient use of space and a whole lot of people having a good time. I tip my metaphorical hat to those involved in the planning and organization of this event! Surprisingly, parking isn’t so bad, and it’s really not bad at all if you’re willing to walk a bit. We parked after hours at the Post Office a few steps down the street, no sweat. I noticed that a number of festival-goers had taken advantage of the large parking lot associated with the nearby plaza off McKnight Road, though I’m not sure the businesses located within that plaza condone that. My favorite part of the festival was the farmers market. It was huge, and the selection of fruits and veggies available even at 9PM was extensive. I picked up 6 lemons, 4 avocados, 5 yellow squash, and a monster bag of mixed spring greens all for about $ 7! All great quality too. Also excellent is the fact that prices here are considerably lower than what you’ll find at most other fairs and festivals in the region. Food, games, rides – all very reasonably priced. A nice place to stop by for some good clean fun.
