Do not give up if your confused on the location! It’s a small cart but it is beyond worth it! I literally had the best iced coffee I have ever had and I’m a coffee addict. I wish I live close to this place because I would never go anywhere else if you are anywhere near to simpatico and you like coffee in the least you should definitely stop here it’s well worth it!

Pretty decent little coffee stand in Pittsburgh. I read all the reviews so being the coffee lover I am I walked about 20 blocks to give this place a try. Oddly enough it was stuck inside a building that was being re-modeled. There was a kiosk set up inside with a guy pulling the ceiling down right next to the stand. Bit of an odd place to have a coffee stand operating, but I can get passed this if the coffee is good. On our visit we had 2 lattes both were made very well, and are probably hard to top in Pittsburgh. Not really 5 star coffee, but definitely good stuff.

The best espresso downtown. Fast, incredibly friendly, always have delicious smoothie samplers. I don’t know jack about coffee except how it tastes. This tastes great. Go here.

So glad I found this place! Just passing through Pittsburgh for work and was looking for some place to get good coffee and maybe something healthy, this was my one stop! Got a macchiato and kale smoothie and both were phenomenal– five stars!

Very friendly staff, nice location, great espresso, and a surprisingly tasty pumpkin pie smoothie. Will come again next time in Pittsburgh

Hands down the best smoothies in the city. They use REAL ingredients, not concentrates, and are constantly coming up with new recipes. The prices aren’t the cheapest but very fair considering the quality. It’s tough to keep from going back every day, but then again, that’s not such a bad thing.

Took me a little bit to find but was well worth the walk. Better than Starbucks for sure and great service.

Oh my goodness!!! This place is SOGOOD! Ward and his team create such delicious goodness out of a relatively small space: great tastes; so very many choices(coffee drinks, smoothies, shakes); generous portions; and healthy. Don’t miss this place for your morning hit of goodness. Goodness, y’all! #Goodness

I went to Pittsburgh to sight see for the day and found this hidden gem of a coffee place via Unilocal!I’m so glad I tried this place. I met the owner(forgot to ask for his name) but he is so charming, insightful and has a passion for coffee. I ordered the latte which was delicious. Smooth, creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. He was sweet enough to converse with my boyfriend and I who were visiting and told us about some places to visit during our stay. The owner is originally from Seattle which has some of the best coffee in the nation. I’m glad he brought his expertise to Pennsylvania! Definitely try out the coffee items. This place is better known for the smoothies in recent days but was originally founded as a coffee shop. The espresso is great here — not too acidic with a buttery taste. I bookmarked this place for future visits into the city!

Although the building is undergoing renovation the kale smoothies are spectacular! Don’t be put off by the construction and take your smoothie to go.

Hard to find, but worth the detour. I’ve never had smoothies made with pumpkin or butternut squash. Awesome combos with all kinds of fresh fruits, veggies, and more. And the coffee was delicious!

I read all the reviews and got really excited about this place. Unfortunately, from my experience it wasn’t worth the hype. I went with a friend and ordered a cappuccino, which wasn’t a cappuccino at all. It had absolutely no foam. It was basically coffee with a lot of milk. I don’t think I even drank half — it was that bad. My friend’s iced latte had too much milk, as well.(I realize lattes typically have more milk than other coffee drinks, but this was one had too much). I don’t know if the barista just wasn’t good at frothing milk and/or getting the proportions right, or if Simpatico isn’t good with coffee drinks. I will say the drink sixes are generous(the small iced latte was bigger than expected). Maybe I’ll try this place again and order a smoothie, rather than a coffee drink.

I really enjoyed my visit. The service was great and I can tell a lot of care is put into the menu and ingredients. I am not a huge fan of coffee but needed a big wake up for an early morning work shift. The Flying Monkey drink was suggested so I decided to try it… not bad at all. It had espresso, peanut butter, banana and protein powder. It certainly helped me get through the morning. Next time I plan to try a green smoothie. Will definitely be back and can’t wait to see the new location when the building is renovated!

I like coffee just as much as the next person but my heart belongs to chai lattes. That said the best I’ve had was at a tea house in Boulder Colorado and without a doubt this is my favorite chia tea in Pittsburgh. The flavor was bold. I’m not a fan of watered down chai. It was creamy and everything I could ask for in a latte. The location is honestly a little weird. It’s a small set up in the lobby of a building under construction. There are a few sofas and a set of chairs off to the side. I don’t think I’ll ever crave a Starbucks chia again. If you need me I’ll be here sipping on a chai.

I’m currently in Pittsburgh every week for work and am so happy to have found this place! I’m from Melbourne, Australia, where cafes pride themselves in having expert baristas and top notch beans. Simpatico reminds me of that. The locally sourced coffee they use tastes amazing — strong with a smooth, almost caramel finish(no lingering bitterness). The drinks are made with care and the place manages to deliver good coffee without being pretentious(so over going to coffee places where the hipster at the counter makes me feel like an idiot). I haven’t yet tired the various shakes on offer, but note that they look delicious and have spoken to several customers waiting at the counter, who all seemed to love theirs. The made to order espresso based coffees are also cheaper than Starbucks, despite being about a million times better. What is not to love?

I have been working downtown for almost 2.5 years and somehow never visited(or really knew about) Simpatico. A work friend and I made our way over to the old Alcoa building a few days ago. I had never been in the building, but the lobby was eerily deserted despite it being lunchtime on a weekday. The only activity was clustered around the Simpatico stand. The menu is expansive – I had a hard time trying to decide what to get. Ultimately, at my friend’s suggestion, I ordered an off-menu carrot cake smoothie. And what a great decision it was! The friendly employee at the register explained that the smoothie could be made sweet or spicy(with extra ginger). I like ginger but didn’t want to go overboard, so I opted for the sweet version. The smoothie was outrageously delicious, and did indeed taste like carrot cake(a favorite of mine). My friend ordered the same smoothie but in the spicy variety, and the barista made a little extra and let us each try the opposite version. He also let us try a blended coffee drink(which contained ground espresso beans for texture) which was also delicious. I’m thinking Simpatico would be a perfect treat on Fridays or particularly stressful work days. I’m already looking forward to my next trip!

Delicious. So damn delicious. I’m a stickler for high quality and can’t stand protein shakes that are chalky, good for me that my peanut butter and banana protein shake was just as good as the ones I make at home from scratch. If you want a top shelf protein shake definitely check them out.

I had never expected to find such a little gem in that abandoned building across from my hotel. My first trip to Pittsburgh required a lot of Unilocal searching and I read great things about this little place that I wasn’t able to see from outside of the building. I decided to take everyone’s advice on Unilocal and try the kale smoothie specifically!!! It was tasty and filling and went well with the ham&cheese croissant I ordered. I felt terrible for waiting until the last day of my trip to try their smoothies. If I had them earlier, I would have had one for breakfast every day I was in Pittsburgh!
