Heart To Heart

Ellen was my doula for the birth of my first child this past August. It was a last minute decision to hire a Doula (Ellen was highly recommended) & I had only met her once before I went into labor (my son was 3 weeks early) & I am so happy we hired her. My husband & I contacted her, when leaving for the hospital, & Ellen came immediately. During my 26.5 hour labor Ellen was amazing! She encouraged me, kept me comfortable, helped with different labor/​birth positions, & helped my nervous husband coach me… etc. My Midwife loved her & worked closely with her throughout the whole process. Half way through labor Ellen brought in another Heart To Heart Doula, Karen, who was equally awesome. With the two of them I literally had my dream birth experience!!! I think every women should have a Doula for her labor & childbirth! No every women should have a Doula from Heart To Heart!!!

Ellen was my doula both for the birth of my son and as a post-​partum doula. Professional, resourceful, knowledgeable, with a self-​less, unassuming, totally focused on the mother that is exactly what a doula should be. Before the birth she met with us several times to help us prepare. There was zero judgement about what we did or did not want our birth experience to be like. And she was super helpful preparing for it. During my something-​like-​14-​hour labor she was with us the whole way. My OB completely trusted her and had great communication with her. Post-​partum she again was completely unassuming and helpful. I have no idea how we would have manged those first several weeks without her. She helped us get home from the hospital, helped us set up the house for the newborn, helped me figure our a routine, helped me breastfeed, and was so stealth in her support that she was in our house while my mom was visiting, while we had a bris, while my in laws came and everyone was grateful for her (if they even noticed she was around).
