I woke up to a cold house. I called Lindley to come out. We scheduled a time of 1:30PM for them to take a look at it. When I met the technician at my house, I opened the door to a warm house. The furnace was running just fine. He checked the system out and said he couldn’t find anything wrong. He then proceeded to tell me that he wouldn’t charge me for any repairs or house call and that he «basically» did a tune-up. I watched him, and other than a little clean up and a few tests, he didn’t do much more. I didn’t expect it to be free, but was a little suprised when he charged me $ 111 for a tune-up. With nothing to compare it to, I paid it. Right after he left, I went to my mailbox and found ads from two different companies charging $ 50 for a tune-up. I called the office and question the difference in price and they said that was their standard rate, and that they do «much more» than the other companies.(I don’t see how). The service man was very friendly, but I feel like when he couldn’t find anything wrong, and the system was working fine, he had to find a way to make up the difference in price they would have charged for a repair. Lesson learned– always ask around before having work done, and get the quote in advance(which they boast on their website). I didn’t receive it and I am definitely not 100% satisfied.
