John’s Pizza

The closest to NY pizza I’ve had in the south. Always friendly. I primarily use pick up because delivery isn’t very good. I’d knock a point off for that but the pizza is just so good. Nice small local business to support is always a good thing.

I have to be honest, the food is great. I have gone here 3 times, each for takeout. The first 2 times I bought a couple of pizzas and yum. Yesterday I purchased 2 pasta dishes and a Stromboli. I’ll review those shortly.
The problem here is the wait and customer service. Every time, I have received my food an hour after I initially ordered. If they were busy, I would understand. But last night, there were 4 tables only, and yet it took an hour to get my dinner! In addition, during my hour wait, I was treated to watching the owner reprimand a waitress in front of customers, the hostess complain about the delivery driver not doing his job and complaining about her long day, and overhearing 2 phone calls that included full refunds because, you guessed it, the service was slow. One person received her 1 pizza 90 minutes after she ordered it.
Now to the food. I ordered the Stromboli they call a Sausage Roll. Homemade Italian sausage which is incredibly juicy and well seasoned, onions, peppers, and mozzarella. Great size, just plain delicious. For my wife I ordered the chicken parmigiana with pasta. Again, well seasoned, great breading on the chicken, delicious marinara with chunks of tomato, pasta well cooked. Very good. I also ordered the Chicken Marsala. Pasta was good, not enough Marsala wine in the sauce, but still very tasty.
If they could just speed up their service and keep the drama away from the customers, this would have been a 4 – 5 star rating.

John’s pizza is our GO-​TO local pizza joint. The side salads are a simple and tasty start. The pizza is pretty standard, but hits the spot and is huge. We’re happy to have this place right up the road!

I really loved this place for a while, but a 90 health score is atrocious. If you won’t take sanitary conditions seriously, I will take my business elsewhere. I am fairly certain that it is the worst score in town.

Surprisingly good pizza. I highly recommend. I called for take out. They fulfilled on their promise of having it ready for pick up in 25 minutes.

This is a small town pizza place. The pizza is good, not NYC pizza, but good. They have good calzones and really good dinner salads. I am not wild about their pasta, but it is our go to place for a quick good pizza. Additionally, the folks are really wonderful and the service we receive is always good.

Good food but damn, it shouldn’t take 45min to get an order and food esp if you order a small pizza.

The Pizzas are very good here. The way I like the crust golden brown. I always use pick up and have not dined in. The people are very friendly there when I do pick up my order.

5 stars for the chef salad with ranch dressing. I don’t know how they do it, but the chef salad is the most delicious I have ever had. I have not actually tried the pizza because the salad is perfect on its own. Ham, turkey, boiled egg, bell pepper, olives, provolone and creamy homemade ranch dressing – yum!
