Five Star Nails

I had such a great experience at Five star! It is a beautiful, clean salon and all of the nail technicians are very friendly! When I first moved to the area I would go from salon to salon trying to find someone who does EVEN acrylic nails. Remny (I think that’s how you spell her name) is one of the nicest nail techs I have ever met! She listened to me and made my nails beautiful, but most importantly EVEN! She payed attention to detail and she is very fun to talk to!

Clean, beautiful décor and they use pedi basin liners. Nina has done the cutest nail art I’ve had and always listens to my requests. I highly recommend a pedi here.

I am a tourist. Might be one of the best pedicures ever. Very clean place. Enjoyed it. Will definitely come back next time I am in the area.

This place has always been good but since they have completely renovated the interior, it is great! The BEST massage chairs ever, super clean, bright yet relaxing… Overall a wonderful place to go for a pedi.

Took a leisure beach trip and while there my bf treated me to a pedicure. I’m from the bay area and have had better 15 dollar pedis than this lousy $ 26 pedi. From start to finish it took 20 mins including the polish drying. The lady doing my nails would make a grunt sound and then tap my foot to indicate the switching of my feet. In the midst of the pedi, she stops working on me and then starts helping another customer. Furthermore, she did not trim the cuticle once and cut the nails too short. Only thing redeeming was my bf with a very throughtful gesture.

Recently remodeled, everything is clean and new at 5-​star. The pedicure chairs are great. Got mother-​daughter mani-​pedis, and the staff was so friendly and terrific. Great prices too! We recommend Hannah.

Called here on a Saturday for a last minute apt for a gel manicure. They were able to get me in a couple hours later. The salon was really clean and modern. Chairs are very comfortable and the décor is cute. This is definitely not one of those trashy nail salons were you are afraid of catching something. Parking is easy and wiith California Fresh next door to grab a snack, this location is awesome. I only had to wait 5 minutes before they sat me. It can get really busy here on weekends, so I totally understand the wait. The girl who did my nails did a great job. I asked her not to cut my cutiles and she didn’t. Her work was meticulous. I also appreciated her not trying the small talk. It was more relaxing for me this way. My nails came out looking great. The price is $ 25 for a gel manicures which is pretty reasonable especially for this area. Will be returning for sure.

Great service! Clean, decorated nice and have long massage for the normal pedicure! Being a busy mom, I hardly get more the. 1 or 2 pedicures a year and this one is definitely worth going!!!

I always come here and have not been disappointed. This is my go to place for French shellac nails; they usually last about a month. Pedicures are also great. They last longer than most places I’ve been too. I do think they need to get more colors to choose from, but that’s just my preference.

Best place on the Central coast. Kim is the best and goes out of her way to do everything asked of her. They are all fun and happy if you take the time to interact. Five stars is the best!

This is where my girls and I always go to get our nails done. We are never disappointed and everyone here is so nice. The shop is clean and easy to get to. If your looking for a great mani pedi at a great price it’s HERE! No one else in town compares to these guys. They have all the elements quality, affordability, and personally! Super great shop!

I must a agree with Holly, Kevin absolutely does the best nails around! I have been wearing acrylic nails for about 15 years off and on and even use to be a manicurist lol about 25 years ago… Kevin does an acrylic fill and polish in an hour… which is fantastic!!! i never have lifting and have been going to him for about 2 years. :) Kevin pays great attention to detail of shaping and polish so they always look natural. my nails last an easy 2– 3 weeks, sometimes even longer if i am out of town, He is getting more booked all the time because the word in getting out how good he is… so i recommend you make an appointment.
I also go there for my pedicures the girls are all nice, they use a new sterile set of tools for each customer which makes me feel good that everything is kept clean between each customers. I also like the different nail art i get for my peds each time… some holiday but mostly i get flowers… and it last a long time. I definitely recommend Five Star Nails…

Kevin does the best acrylics in the area! His attention to detail is amazing! Nina was awesome! Talk about customer service, this girl should hold a class! The staff is friendly and gave me the best manicure and acrylic I have ever had! I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else

I went to see kenny. He moved to shell beach salon and spa. Make your appointment with him there. #1 nails told me he was home sick. Not true. He just doesn’t work there any longer. They just wanted my business.

It’s always a gamble trying to find the right nail place that fits your personal needs. Do you want a quite place, long massages, a social environment, a get in get out place… ahh they are all so different! Five Star is one of those nail salons that is fast, efficient and patient! With more of a social environment. I found that their gels stay on longer than any salon I’ve been too and they are only $ 25! If you want to go in and get fun and fancy designs KEVIN is the man to go to he is so patient and very talented! I come in every time with pictures I’ve pulled off of Pinterest and Kevin nails it… (no pun intended) every single time! It’s true talent! I’ve never loved my nails so much! So there it is! Love this place!

I am not quite sure how I feel about my experience here. I’ve only had one mani/​pedi that didn’t involve fake nails, and I felt that this time, I was underwhelmed by the whole thing. The last one I had was in Florida a few months ago and the polish on my hands and feet lasted for about 3 weeks before chipping.
Now I made an appointment in advance and once I got there, it suddenly filled up quickly. I liked the lady who waited on me. Very nice. The pedi was awesome! My feet look amazing and are still soft a few days later.
My nails however are a different story. The nails chipped and peeled within one day of getting polished! They took forever to dry and the poor lady had to fix two of my nails cause I messed them up in the dryer. I messed another up after she went to help someone else, but I didn’t have the heart to tell her.
Now, I don’t even know if they use other nail polishes other than what I saw. I was just told to go pick out a color off the wall and they majority of the stuff was OPI nail polish. I use OPI and it doesn’t last too long when I use it, but I figured the base coat and top coat they used where professional and would keep my nails looking pretty for days, but alas, it was not meant to be!
Perhaps I am just too rough on my nails? I work in a clothing store so its possible that I was just too rough on them.
I don’t know if they use shellac or gel, and if that would be a better choice for me next time? Either way, I’ll see them for a pedi, but maybe not a mani unless they have a better polish that lasts longer. There is no point to pay for something I could do myself for free.

I’ve been coming to this salon for about 7 months now to get pedicures. I have always had an enjoyable experience, and it’s always been nice and clean. Sometimes, there is a wait, but it’s not usually more than 30 minutes, and there’s a Starbucks on the corner, so it’s easy to grab a cup of coffee. The prices are comparable to other places in the area, as well.
As for the massages, it just kind of depends on which nail tech you get. Some of the ladies will give you a great one, and some just rub the lotion on your legs. Either way, it’s always a nice time.
Overall, I think this is one of the nicer, more reasonably priced nail salons I’ve been to. I’ll be coming back every couple of weeks!

Looked for something close to my hotel on the beach. It’s ok for a strip mall. Ladies are nice. No waiting. A bit pricey for a pedicure.

Absolutely fantastic! Every time j go in there they are always so friendly and truly understand customer service. My nails always look great so I have brought many friends and even my family here. I would recommend 5 star nails to anyone looking for a great manicure and/​or pedicure. The girls there are sweethearts and really have your best interest at heart. I’d recommend a reservation especially on the weekends but they always welcome walk Ins an get u in quickly. Nina is fantastic with designs especially with the gel nails. The salon really deserves 5 stars.

Best pedicure ever. Very nice staff. My girl helped me experiment with a couple of different colors to go under the glitter I had picked out and tried them on my fingernails and then took it all off once we’d decided. LONGEST MASSAGE ever. Every time she grabbed the bottle to put on more lotion I was amazed. It was so nice. At the end she even carefully put back on my sandals for me. My mom and I shopped around and this was definitely the right choice. $ 23 for an excellent pedicure.
