Bass is like a fish out of water. I really loved this place just a few years ago, before the change at HQ, and the inevitable cost-cutting. They used to be the go to store, for excellent well made heavy knit 100% Cotton Sweaters & Cardigans, that were both stylish & so comfy that you could sleep in them… and I still do! Both the clothes & their shoes have gone downhill… but they still have fair prices for gift items, for people who do not crave 100% Cotton, like I do. My wife still can find some cool Plether boots here, since I think they did away with most real leather items. Since she is still Vegetarian, she never buys leather goods. Bass is still affiliated with Van Heusen & Tommy Hillfinger, so if you buy a certain amount you will get another 15% off at the other stores. The converse is true too. The all also still have a reward point system, but they expire after a year… Boohoo! Out of the three, I still prefer the quality & prices at the nearby Van Heusen Outlet Store… especially for good quality underwear. They also have more 100% cotton items than Bass. Tommy is too pricey. Between these three store, plus Ralph L., a guy(or gal) can usually find some essentials. Since I live only a few miles away, I stop in here from time to time to pick up gifts & essentials… usually during holiday sales. The Holiday sales are frequently overrated to lure the tourists in. You can get a whole bunch of discounts any time by going to the visitors center & either just ask, or show your AAA card. These every day discounts range up to 15%, and also can apply to most clearance items. It is fun to go on an off day, like a Monday or Tuesday to just mellow out without all the crazy tourists.

if you always run out of size 6, why don’t you order or stock less 9/10s and stock more 6s! sad that i saw 4 pairs of shoes i wanted to buy and they didn’t have any in my size.

This is purely about the shoes. There was an «insane» buy 1 get 2 pairs free deal. Then you regain your sanity when you see that one pair of shoes cost $ 90 even though they’re made out of 100% synthetic materials. Hmmmmmm =P

Bass is one of those few outlet stores that actually has outlet deals. On the day I went there, I bought stuff that was 50 percent off, and then another 40 percent off. Awesome! Not even regular stores do that often, if at all. Although the selection here is mostly shoes, they also have a selection of apparel and luggage. To sweeten the pot(and to get even more deals), join their membership program(it’s free), and you can earn points based on how much you buy. And that membership is also good at IZOD and Van Heusen stores. Even in tough times, you can still buy good stuff at decent prices… provided that you know where and how to get extra discounts.
