Decided to try this place out today since it had pretty decent reviews. I called ahead since I had my 1 year old with me and didn’t want to wait too long. I ordered the shredded chicken phở(they have it listed as just noodle soup, but it’s totally phở) and the shrimp spring rolls. My total bill was $ 10.25, which is a reasonable price! The 2 ladies who made my food and rung me up were really friendly. My phở was great! The noodle sauce is very tasty! My only complaints are that it took much longer than 10 minutes from the time I called to get my food and my daughter was having a cow. I was the only one there, so I’m not sure why it took so long. Plus every service I touched was sticky and dirty. My last complaint is that the spring roll was 80% lettuce. So it basically tasted like lettuce. So I probably won’t waste my $ on those again. The phở was great though and I’ll be coming back for that and to try their sandwiches and other menu items. Not bad for a tiny hole in the wall.

This is becoming my go-to spot for a delicious and thrifty meal. I just wish their hours were more consistent. LOVE their grilled pork bahn-mi sandwich for about $ 3.75. Very tasty and full of fresh veggies. I HATE that I tend to try and get it on with their bahn-mi on Saturdays and Sundays… and, they are closed. Lovely bahn-mi sandwich, denied!

Omg… they have the best Banhmi grilled pork sandwiches! Their mocha pearls are also really good, way better flavored than I’ve tried anywhere else. Their prices are pretty good too! I live in Richmond and I’ll go out of my way just to have one of their sandwiches.

Stopped by: 11÷5÷2015, 12:08 Ambiance: Only couples seats for here, this is to-go food I guess, small but very clean. Vietnamese style. Food: I ordered 1 Curry steak sandwich, 1 chicken sandwich, 1 order egg roll(4 pcs, taro inside), 1 order dumping, Vietnamese coffee. Well. I tried different Vietnamese coffee which is supposed to be strong, they did a good job, the taste fit my expectation. Curry is not too spicy great, love it. I especially like the egg rolls, they make it daily I guess, real fresh. Not pricey, justified. Service: Smile enough, polite, I appreciate the two ladies run the whole store pretty organize. Definitely recommend, hope will go back again if close by next time.

Good spot for Vietnamese sandwicheS, definitely the best one for this area. The sandwich are freshly made and the ladies who work there don’t really speak a lot of English, but who cares, just point and pick. Only tried their sandwiches and rice plates. Would come back! :)

BT is the definition of a hole in the wall. It is located in a nondescript strip mall on San Pablo in Pinole. It just has a small sign and is next to a total dive bar. We were introduced to it by our friend and to be honest it was the only close Vietnamese place near us. We have been going now for several years. The hours have changed often but the food was very consistent for years and kept us coming back for more. The have decent tapioca drinks and smoothies as well as sandwiches and noodles. We have always hit this spot for their spring rolls and sandwiches. Once and awhile we would get a noodle dish but that was not the norm. This past week, we were craving BT again and had not been in a little bit. For whatever reason, we decided not to go for the sandwiches which they do on a pretty nice toasted french bread. Instead, we did go for a noodle dish. The portion sizes used to be fairly large but this time it was much smaller. My wife got the shrimp with vermicelli and I got the chicken and shrimp. The chicken was two thin pieces with only a a few shrimp. They both had good taste but I downed my noodles in about five bites. I was definitely wanting more. We got the fried egg rolls and they were pretty tasty and my daughter liked them a lot. My wife also had one of the cantaloupe smoothies and she has had the avocado in the past as well and loved them both The food is still very good but the noodle dishes did leave me wishing for more, even if it was just noodles. Service is always prompt and food does come pretty quick. For me, I did like the taste of my choices but would probably switch back to the sandwiches given the portion size I got

You know, it wasn’t as bad as some people say it is. It’s plain to see that it’s a fast food option. It’s mostly pick up and eat on your way home. I’m not expecting quality like in San Jose, but reminiscent of Viet food and this place fits the bill. How many Japanese places are run by korean and Chinese restaurants cooked by non Chinese? This place being run by Chinese ain’t a thing for me. W had the combo rice plate #19 and the pork pâté banh mi. All okay. I’ll be back to try other items for sure.

quick, limited seating inside, good if you are by yourself or getting food to go. In addition to the variety of sandwiches they also have a large selection of boba drinks as well. Cramped parking, but usually available.

Legit Bánh mì. I have a clinical rotation at a nearby pediatric clinic and have been searching for good eats around Pinole. I was raised near Oakland and my taste buds can testify to a good Vietnamese sandwich. I ordered #8 which is the grilled pork sandwich. It is great. I had to stop mid sandwich to write this review. Pork is sweet. Jalapeños give kick. Bread warm and crispy. They have other offerings such as soup noodle bowls and rice plates. Come here. Try it out. Ladies are super nice. Place is cheap. Trust me I am a cheapskate. Out the door sammich cost me $ 3.75! I only have two weeks left in Pinole but definitely coming back for more.

I don’t even know how this place has 4 stars… Probably because the other people that did the reviews are not Vietnamese & haven’t had anything close to the real Vietnamese sandwiches. The owners and employees of this place are Chinese. They don’t even use the right types of meat for the sand which !! First time I’ll ever see slices of packaged HAM in my sandwich. If you want real Vietnamese sandwiches go down to Oakland or San Jose, that’s where it’s real.

We got the shrimp banh mi and the grilled pork banh mi, Asian salad and the vermicelli with egg rolls. The sandwiches tasted pretty good but you don’t really taste the shrimp b cause there’s not that many. The grilled pork one tastes better. My bf liked his vermicelli and the Asian salad but me and my brother thought they were ok. The portion sizes for the dishes were pretty small. The egg rolls were good. The sandwiches were average sizes. I don’t think the place is super cheap especially for the portion sizes. The value is bad. The place is hot and there is not that many seats. Grilled pork sandwich: 4 stars Shrimp sandwich: 3.5 Asian salad: 3 Vermicelli:3(included egg rolls:4) If only come back here to get the pork sandwich if I’m craving banh mi and am in the area. Also bring cash if you’re only getting one thing(they only take visa and MasterCard for orders over $ 10).

A total hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese sandwich shop with friendly employees. It’s always busy at lunch time, so I would recommend calling in if you know what you want. I went in to check the place out based on Unilocal reviews and when I got there, realized they didn’t have any vegetarian bahn mi sandwiches *sad face.* I was set to leave when one of the ladies saved the day and suggested doing a bahn mi with avocado! Brownie points to her! I got an order of sesame balls to go with it and a taro milk tea. Everything tasted yummy and the bahn mi ingredients were fresh. Best of all, the prices are cheap(paid under $ 10 for the tea, sandwich, and sesame balls).

For sure a just Meh place. At first I was excited about this little sandwich shop but after a few lunches it’s barely ever in the rotation. Everything needs lots of extra condiments to get it down smoothly. Veggies not fresh and dry, everything too salty, and bread on the dry side with no pâté or anything yummy to make it memorable. I don’t think they shop or prep everyday. Poor ventilation so while I want to eat away from my desk/break room/office it’s a horrible place to sit. With the few small business lunch options close to my place of work, I will continue to come here on occasion for a little rice dish or the grilled pork Bun, but generally not too great.

The place is very small with maybe 5 seats. Do not come with the whole family and expect the type of restaurant that seats many. Came with my girlfriend and we got a few of these seats to eat on. Mostly it appears this food is meant to be taken, to-go. We got a banh mi, spring roles and chicken phở to share. The banh mi is what you would expect anywhere else but the quality here is something I have not gotten in a long time. I appreciated that they do it right and it was very tasty. The spring roles were good as well. The chicken phở had great broth flavor which is half the battle but the chicken was shredded and dry. I liked the flavors of everything here but next time I will take the food to go.

This place is very, very small. It can seat about four people at a little counter. But don’t let it’s size discourage you! The two women that work/own the place are so very nice and make everything fresh. Yet because they make everything fresh, sometimes it takes a while to get your order. One time, my sister and I stopped by to order two sandwiches and it took 20 mins to get our order! But we kept in mind that there is only two of them and other people had ordered before us. These other people were smart and called ahead. So, here is my advice: CALLINYOURORDER. When I come here, I always order the beef banh mi! It is so good and cheap(~$ 4). It comes with a generous amount of warm, juicy beef, sliced cucumbers, jalapenos, carrots, and pickled radish. Be warned! Because the bread is toasted, it can get kind of hard. I suggest turning your sandwich over and eating with the bottom side up so that the roof of your mouth doesn’t get too butchered. Another great item on the menu is the fresh spring roll. It comes with shrimp, lettuce, bean sprouts, and noodles all wrapped in a rice roll. They give you a peanut sauce to use for a dip. I add a little sriracha to my dip just to give it a little kick. This spring roll is so refreshing and it is only $ 3 for two! Just a heads up – this place prefers cash. However, if you wanna pay with a card, you need to purchase a minimum of $ 10 worth of food.

The very definition of strictly OK food, people flock here because the sandwiches are large but mostly because they’re cheap. Among the sandwiches I’ve had, the beef is definitely the tastiest, but honorable mention goes to the chicken. That said I hardly go here because there are actually better options in the area. But if I’m ONLY looking for sandwiches(don’t bother with any of the other menu items) and I want to get in and out fast, I’ll call in here and pick things up and be back home eating in minutes.

Definition of a hole in the wall place. Located in a run down plaza next to ancient looking establishments. Came here with my boss and this place was packed with fellow colleagues. They only have a tiny bar for seating so it may be best to order to go. I ordered phở which probably wasn’t the best of their dishes. They only had chicken phở. When I initially asked for beef soup, she said it was tomato based. The only phở soup they had was beef ball, shrimp, or chicken. My boss ordered the vermicelli. We sat at their bar and ants were crawling everywhere. It wasn’t the cleanest places I’ve been to. Place wasn’t horrible, I would give it a second chance but definitely order something different. Perhaps their sandwiches or the rice plates.
