I’ve only had their spring rolls but they’re so damn good that if deserves a 5 star review. What makes the spring rolls is the peanut sauce. That peanut sauce is like CRACK!!! So on point, so addicting, soooo memorable. I can’t wait to try their other dishes. Also only $ 5 for spring rolls! Yeeeeeeee

Moved up here from Oakland/Berkeley recently and looking for a good neighborhood phở place. This is it! Way better than others in the area & even better than my fav in Oakland. The phở ga has such flavorful broth. Clean location and authentic fare. I complimented the owner and she said she often has customers rave about the broth. Told me the chef has been making phở for 35 years and showed me the ginormous wine-barrel-sized stock pot on the stove that simmers the broth for 24 hours. The surface was teeming with bones and other infusing goodies. Can’t wait to try the bahn mi!

We take foodie friends here because it is just that tasty. Mom and Pop place, very friendly. Clean restaurant. Come down Dam Road from the north, you cannot turn into the parking lot coming from the south. Big parking lot. Hubby loves the phở, I crave the grilled chicken on vermicelli and a boba drink(never got the appeal of those tapioca balls in the smoothie but it was because I never had a good one before. Now I have.

This has been such a poor locations for restaurants. Until Cam Hong opened up, it seemed like there was a new establishment there every few months. This is definitely a family run operation and they get to know their regular customers. I now go to Cam Hong regularly. I especially like that they are open at 10am for phở. The beef phở broth is very flavorful; it’s my favorite. Their sandwiches are substantial and flavored nicely. All the dishes I have tried are good, though the fresh spring rolls are not my favorite. My husband LOVES the mango, green papaya salad. Best of all, it’s close to my home.

The restaurant has undergone new management since the last time I’d been here. We were seated at a table with menus and water. Originally, I was only going to order a rice plate but the smell of the phở was beckoning me, so I order the phở tai instead and my boyfriend ordered the phở dac biet. He also ordered an avocado shake and I got the three bean drink. We also ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls. The spring rolls came out first. They were nicely rolled and the ends were cut off to make the rolls look more clean cut. The rolls were really good and the peanut sauce it came with had a small kick but it was still good. The phở came out next. I ordered a small and he ordered a medium, but it looks like they gave us 2 mediums. That wasn’t really a big deal and since I was hungry so I didn’t question it. The phở bowls came with a lot of meat. The broth was really good. I didn’t really have to mess with it much, just added my usual hoisin sauce, squeeze of lime, bean sprouts, and basil leaves, and I was good to go. Our drinks came out a little bit afterwards. His avocado shake was perfectly made with the right amount of sugar and with ripe avocados. My three bean drink was ok. It was very beany. There was actual mung bean beans in it, so it made drinking it through the straw difficult. And the green jelly had nice thick pieces. It could’ve been a tad more sweeter but overall it was just ok. The phở broth here is definitely a lot better than some other places I’ve been too. And I don’t think there was any MSG in it because it didn’t make me really thirsty after eating and I didn’t touch my water at all. Neither of us did. There was no need to.

I was hungry, it’s cold and rainy, I need spicy noodle soup! Since it cures most ailments, I Unilocaled and there I was on my way, like a true American that can satisfy most culinary needs on demand. I found it easy to find with its own parking lot. It was clean and in good location next to my car wash place and a neighborhood ace hardware, just down the street from my favorite thrift store! I was immediately greeted to sit wherever I like. First come, first serve as I was the first to arrive as soon as they open for lunch. Two other patrons followed closely after. My order, always technical, due to the powers I possess as a Californian for specific, detailed alteration of perfectly traditional menu items. I get the rare beef phở with spicy lemongrass broth. They always bring bo bun hue instead with only rare beef. Ugh, round noodles that resemble spaghetti vs the flat skinny chewy ones. Yuck! I flagged down the waitress, which reminds me of my grandmother, probably her and her husband are the owners. She kindly switched it out without making me feel bad or accuse me of brining what I ordered. She quickly returned with a new soup with extra beef and a smile! It was probably the best spicy broth I have had in my phở, most flavorful Hot, chewy noodles and the freshest side of bean sprouts and herbs. I know this is my new local go to for vietnamese food, time to try a rice plate and pearl drink next :)

Meh– this place was just okay. I stopped here for dinner the other day; I came around 7pm on a Tues and there was only one or two other people there. I ordered to-go and go the rice dish with grilled pork chops, fried chicken wings, and egg rolls for about $ 10. The portions were big, and if you aren’t that hungry, they are enough to feed two people. The only thing I didn’t like was how salty the pork chops were. I was struggling to finish. Everything else was okay, but rather average especially compared to the other viet restaurants I’ve been to. Front lady was nice and service was fast, which was a plus. Parking was also easy; they have their own small parking lot. I also got the mango boba for about $ 3 – 4. It tasted kind of artificial, but I got used to it after a while. Overall, it was an average meal– not bad but not good either. I’m not sure what other viet places there are in this area, but based on the other places I’ve been to, this place was just okay.

We came back and they gave us someone else’s order. After they finally gave us the right order, I did enjoy my eggroll, pork, and shredded pork with noodles. The shredded pork had no flavor so I would not want that in my next order. I also like their pork/shrimp spring rolls for 5 dollars for two. The rolls are a bit expensive since it’s mostly noodles and lettuce but it was fresh and had thin pieces of pork and shrimp. The peanut sauce that went with it was well done. We also tried their beef stew which is very watery and more like soup with chunks of beef but it was flavorful.

Yes 5 Stars and here’s why. So far I’ve tried the sandwiches and the phở, both excellent exactly what I expected. Perks I ask for egg noodles, no problem Outdoor seating always a plus People are friendly The expected condiments on the table, see pic. The pickled jalapeño is made fresh by them, not jar or canned bought. Bottomline, this place has definitely changed since the previous owners and I’ll be back regularly for sure.

This place is the best! Ever wonder why Saigon #2 went bad? The owners moved here into Cam Hong restaurant ! The food is always so delicious & come out at a reasonable time! Authentic Vietnamese food you ask? Get it here by the best! Not sure why people Come in with so much attitude though, understand they aren’t that fluent in English and respect that! People are such jerks sometimes. But definitely highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great Phở & fantastic Vietnamese dishes !

I don’t know why this place had received such bad reviews. The food here is amazing! My husband and I were getting our car washed across the street and smelled their BBQ and couldn’t stop ourselves from giving this place a try. We were greeted immediately at the door and seated. Yes we did have to call the waiter over when we were ready to order but in most places today you have to anyways. Personally I can’t stand it when I’m bothered constantly when I eat so not having them come to our table every five minutes is a plus for me and anyone who gives a bad review based on that should not eat at any mom and pop restaurants. The staff was helpful and friendly can’t say anymore about that We will be returning again

I have lunch with my dad every day while visiting my parents. In the mood for phô, we decided to try Cam Hong. It’s a small Vietnamese restaurant in a former Taco Bell. No burritos, but they have egg rolls! Only in America! Inside the adobe brick place, our grumpy waiter looked like he just woke up. He barely said 3 words… Ready to order? He really didn’t seem to want to be there. Maybe he’s the owner because he had a calculator and receipts/bills at his table. Why is this being done in the dining area? Luckily the food wasn’t grumpy. The Cha Gio, egg rolls, were good… big but not the hefty size at the Viet in 99 Ranch mall. I like the smaller crunchier ones on the East Coast. Is that a regional U.S. thing? My Phô was delicious! Not sure if it was #1 or #2 but it’s the only one with oxtails. Get the oxtails if you like sucking on bones. FTW! Dad liked his Vegetarian Phô. He wasn’t into meat today. We’ll probably be back to try some other menu items that looked pretty good. The woman at the counter was so helpful and always came out to check on the customers. It seems like she was covering the other guy’s job, but she was very nice. P. S. They should use a screen door to keep out the bothersome flies while eating as it conjures a less than clean restaurant.

Goi ga was very flavorful and full of good white chicken meat, although it was bit pricey($ 10) The pork/egg roll vermicelli bowl was very tasty as well, but could have done with a few more pieces of pork.

Came on a Friday evening with a friend for some banh mi to go. There were 3 tables eating, not very busy. The place is small, but will seat ~10 tables. They have their own parking lot so that’s convenient. The banh mi price was a little steep, $ 5.25+tax for a special combo banh mi. The size is bigger than the normal ones I buy, but it’s still pricy for a banh mi. It taste pretty good though.

Went again and had the rice plates. It was delicious and very filling. The food is enough to share a rice plate for 2 people. The fried egg rolls were really good and flavorful. Will definitely be back to check out more of their menu.

I’ve been looking for a decent bowl of Bun Bo Hue in close proximity to my area for the longest time now. All of the ones I’ve tried from the Vietnamese restaurants within the Richmond/El Cerrito/El Sobrante area were consistently disappointing, where they were either inauthentic or lacked key ingredients. I truly enjoyed their Bun Bo Hue. They gave a great portion and also made sure to include the essentials: a slice of pig feet and 2 blood cubes, in addition to beef slices and slices of meat cake. The blood was cooked perfectly; it was soft to the bite and not overdone or too firm. They also included most of the right herbs and veggies on the side, like the shredded cabbage, Vietnamese coriander and the purple leafed herb(idk what it’s called, but it’s my favorite.) I thoroughly enjoyed my food to say the least. The rest of my family ordered a range of other things. Their vermicelli bowl came as a huge portion of food, the leftovers were taken home. The banh coun plate was shared between 5 of us and we also tried their salad wraps w/meatcake, both of which were really good. Our server was very attentive and genuine. We all left with our tummies full and satisfied. The only criticism I’d have is that they check their cups for cleanliness. The water cup that my mom was given still had a lipstick print on it. Overall, I’m excited to have a legit Vietnamese joint that’s less than 10 minutes away. Hoping that this restaurant stays for a while!

We used to come when previous owner, we were sad the place had new owners, we gave it a try anyways, but got very disappointed, while eating there a COCKROACH crawled from our table to the wall, it was disgusting, never eating there again, we told the server and the owner, they didn’t do anything about it, we were ignored, when we payed i told the owner again and she didn’t care all she said was that they had fumigated yesterday! Seriously! I work for the food and beverage industry and I know that it wasn’t previously fumigated., I don’t recommend this place at all, if we were able to see the cockroach I can’t imagine inside were our food it’s being prepared. I have a picture of it but can’t uploaded it in my comment, and its 0 stars because I can’t put —
