I had a great experience here with Susannah. The customer service was excellent and the alterations were perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better process. They took a piece from my mother’s veil and made me one. Such a special process that I will never forget.

Please don’t go here!!! I was measured for my dress, and when it came in 7 months later, it was way too small!!! 3+ inches too small in the waist and hips. I was literally told by the seamstress to go on a diet — that I was young and could lose the weight no problem… I’m 115 lbs btw — not like I have tons of weight to lose. I then had to PAY hundreds of dollars to have the dress let out at the seams so it would fit, and was still forced to drop 10lbs in the weeks before my wedding so I could breathe on the big day.
They are all about the great customer service in the beginning, I had a great shopping experience. After I wrote the deposit check though, it was like dealing with a sleazy used car salesman.
I wouldn’t recommend this shop to any brides, as the very last thing you need to be stressing about leading up to the big day is your dress.

In the beginning, the customer service was excellent and I was elated that I was able to find my dress. However the measurements that were taken by the sales associate were extremely off. The sample was a size 10 and I was told that I should order a size 16 based on my measurements. At first I told them I would like to order the size of the sample and two associates convinced me otherwise. Saying that if I didn’t have enough material for alterations the dress could not be fixed. Like any other bride I lost 15 lbs before the big day. When the dress arrived it was enormous! I had my alterations done at Mecklenburg Bridal. That poor seamstress tried her best and had to completely remake the back of the dress (it went from a backless dress to completely closed). During both fittings the seamstress apologized continuously for how badly the dress came out and did not understand why they would order the dress so big. She said there was no way 15 lbs would cause me to go from a size 16 to a size 9. After nearly $ 400 in alterations the dress was still baggy. She was unable to fix the bust due to the cup material.
After seeing my wedding dress in pictures I was pretty upset. I called Mecklenburg Bridal Gallery and explained my situation to the sales associate on the phone. I asked if there was anyway I could rent the sample dress so I could retake my wedding pictures. The associate said she would talk to the owner about my situation and call me back…8 months later I’m still waiting for that phone call.

My shopping experience at Mecklenburg Bridal Gallery was excellent, and I highly recommend this boutique to Charlotte area brides-​to-​be. They have a great selection at a variety of price points and my consultant, Barbara, was very sweet and helpful.
Since I was shopping on a weekday, I did not need an appointment, and although a couple of other brides were shopping at the same time, the atmosphere was very calm. After talking about my wedding a little bit with Barbara, she gave my mom and I a tour of the shop (gowns are organized by style, except for the sample section which is by size) and told us to start pulling dresses to try. She mostly left us to our own devices for this part, although she did make a couple suggestions based on what we were pulling.
As I was trying on the gowns, Barbara answered all of my questions about fit and alterations (which were numerous!) and pulled a few more styles for me to try based on what I was liking and disliking about some of my choices. I really appreciated her gentle honesty when a particular gown didn’t flatter – what a pro!
I ended up purchasing my wedding gown from a different boutique, but my mom and I both loved Mecklenburg Bridal Gallery.

My daughter found her dress at Mecklenburg Bridal and it was a lovely experience. We were helped by Claudia who took the time to help find THE dress! The service was top notch and my daughter connected with Claudia which made the experience more fun. We have a unique situation because my daughter lives in Hawaii and will be married there. We had 2 days to find a dress and this shop was our favorite. My daughter feels like she found the dress of her dreams and they are being very helpful to help her navigate through the long distance situation that we have. We highly recommend Mecklenburg Bridal.

I came here with two of my bridesmaids to look for bridesmaids dresses. When I arrived two older ladies were standing at the front counter doing absolutlely nothing. I informed them that we would like to look at their dress selection. I was asked if I bought my wedding dress from them and I said no. They told me that we could not look at their dresses in the store. I would need to put a $ 50 bridal consultant fee down and IF I bought their dresses it would be subtracted from the cost. Then I would need to look at their dress selection online, pick out the ones we would want to try on, call them with the dress information, and they would pull those dresses from the back. We would then need to make an appointment to come in to try the dresses on. No wonder no one was there when I went in. Don’t waste your time going to this place.

I purchased my Wedding gown from here on Nov. 2013. I totally regret it due to poor customer service. They are not informative and very rude. The best experienced I had here was with the alterations lady, she was very nice and did an amazing job.
So to all brides please save your self from the headache and stress, shop else where.

I came into the store looking for bridesmaids dresses only to hear that they only sell to brides who bought their own gown there, which I have already ordered from another store. My mom asked about mothers dresses which the woman showed her, before walking away and never checking on us again. Not only do I think it’s crazy to have a policy that restricts them from making a profit off of my 6 bridesmaids who could potentially have ordered, but they did not offer to show me any accessories, veils, shoes or seem to care about us as customers once they heard I have purchased my gown elsewhere. I would not recommend this store due to the lack of customer service.

What a fabulous experience! I traveled into town from Philadelphia to shop with my mother and sister to find my wedding dress. I am NOT a happy shopper, but from the moment we walked in it was everything we could have hoped for (frankly, my expectations were low.)
As first time shoppers, Barbara lead us on a quick tour and turned us loose! We were shocked to be allowed to touch and pull on a whim, but we quickly recovered and went every whichway, pulling and hanging. Barbara kept up with good humor and grace, pulling a few of her own recommendations.
I dressed in a beautiful, full-​sized room, and Barbara waited patiently outside until I called for help, where we’d parade around the store for opinions (when I felt like leaving the room, which was more often than expected, considering I’m a plus-​sized bride!)
We must have tried on 40 dresses (and pulled a few dozen more) — even my mother found something appealing to her MOB tastes :) We ended up leaving the store to check out other options, but received no pressure, no sales pitch– nothing.
Soon we regretted not asking the prices, but we were worried for nothing. Prices were the best of anywhere we looked (even some at Davids Bridal, but that was a holy terror all on it’s own). We went back to MBG «just to look one more time», and Barbara let us stay in the room and try it again, and we walked out with an order!
Pictures allowed, touching the dresses allowed (why should I even have to post that as a perk?!), plus sized brides welcome– short of an endless champagne fountain, this place MUST be your first stop.
