Ok. Restarant is run down. Food was ok, with big portions. Bar is really nice. Beer was ice ice cold.

FRESHLY shucked oysters topped with bacon, fresh spinach and parm shavings. There’s no hiding behind Hollandaise sauce with this dish – there isn’t any! A drizzle of lemon and OHMY – it’s happy mouth time. Don’t go to this place if you’re looking for a window with a sea side view – it’s located in a strip mall 15.1 miles from the Gulf. Go if you want to the real thing! By the way, still family owned(Dad and Daughter currently) after 30 years. My beloved had the Captain’s Platter and just as others have said, yowser! Whole belly clams, scallops, fish, oysters and shrimp lightly dusted with a wonderful fry mix and perfectly fried. Ignore the French fries, go for the homemade onion rings.

Was there several years ago and I haven’t had better belly clams(4 stars) anywhere in the area since.

First time here in a while. Didn’t know there was a change in ownership. We walked in around 7:45−8 and it was completely empty. Seated promptly and waitress was attentive. Menu seemed smaller than I remember. Whole belly steamers lacked flavor as did the coleslaw and parsley potatoes. Not sure if we will be back.

Fried Whole Belly Clams were just as good as I get at home on Cape Cod in Mass. The staff was friendly and helpful. I also had the Fried Smelts. They were as good as I make at home. The Cole Slaw could use a little spicing up but was very fresh. they also make their own Tarter and Cocktail sauces and they were excellent.

I had the oysters and the were fresh, salty and sweet at the same time. Michael is very picky about the oysters he purchases and serves and it shows. Well worth the visit! The margarita’s are killer too!

We used to come here all the time! Rosie is no longer the owner and it definitely shows! Idk if we’ll come back. I’m so disappointed. The haddock didn’t taste fresh, the steamers smelled old. I will say that the whole belly clams were tasty though. Rosie was a wonderful person and so friendly! The service isn’t like it used to be!

My roommates are seafood fanatics and one of them is from New England. She’s been searching for a New England-style seafood restaurant and she LOVES Rosie’s. They took me there recently and I had the sirloin which was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The staff was excellent and friendly. I highly recommend the place.

As a very critical person when it comes to restaurants, I have to say I’ve been blown away by my experience at this place. I’ve been here 4 times for the Fisherman’s platter. I grew up in Boston & I’ve been spoiled by top notch quality food, especially seafood. Their Fisherman’s Platter makes you feel like you are eating at one of those New England seafood restaurants that catch their own seafood in the morning & serve it to you that evening. The seasoning & batter on the fish is outstanding. Whole belly clams, juicy sea scallops & fried shrimp all in the same batter. Onion rings are good, but not my favorite. Choice of sides were all awesome, I tried them all each time I tried something different. Their tartar sauce & cocktail sauce are great. Other people I dined with got different items & they all enjoyed them. Plus they serve Mountain Dew. Last time I was there, it was $ 17.95. Well worth it if you miss that New England style fisherman’s platter. I can’t wait to go there again!

Can I give less than 1 star? Found on Unilocal and figured it would be hard to find bad seafood so close to, well, the Sea. Quite possibly one of the worst meals I have had, and I eat out about 10 times per week. No seasoning on any of the fried dishes. I had scallops which I could not even stomache, shrimp was below average and fried fish below average as well. Wifey had the Lobster Roll. Disgusting. How do you mess these items up? Fries unseasoned and lukewarm, and we were basically the only ones in there. Don’t waste your time or money. I don’t even really do reviews, but I just had to. It’s that bad.

We went to Rosies with a bunch of friends last night, we’ve all ridden past it a million times and said«We’ve got to try that place»…don’t do what we’ve been doing, go there. Yes, we ride motorcycles but we know good food and good people and Michael the new owner is good people. We had a party of nine the service was great, Michael was great, he took care of us and asked us to critique everything and his food stood strong just as he told us it would. Some highlights, the steamers were great, oysters rockefeller out of this world, stuffed grouper was great, as were the fried oysters, also done to perfection were the Ipswitch Clams. The lobster roll was what a lobster roll should be as stated by one of our friends who is a New Englander, so these knuckleheads that gave it 2 stars don’t know what a good lobster roll is. So don’t go to the chain restaurants people, eat local.

What a great place. New owners, new management. Had a great meal, outstanding service and fair prices. My fried whole bellies were just like what I had in New England. Chocolate bread pudding to die for and Michelle are server could not have been nicer.

Avoid the lobster roll, unless you like paying $ 16 for cold lobster salad. To be fair, the quality of the meat was fine(and the bread was quite good). But for this price, I expected the lobster roll the way I’ve had it in the past; a hot, freshly steamed, glazed in butter presentation.(Yes, I know that would take the kitchen longer… but $ 16…$ 16!) Suggestion: have your servers ask the customers, «we serve it cold, is that OK?» The owner was friendly(a bit of a close talker, but friendly). The fries were ordinary. And the vibe was a bit of a downer.

My Caesar salad was just ok. The fried clams clams that my Mom had were not very good. They were very dark. I don’t know if the oil needed to be changed or overcooked. Would not return if I was looking for authentic New England Seafood.

Anticipated the lobster roll for quite a while… just had to come in and see for myself. Too bad it was just ok… for the price I wished it had more to it. I could have went to Publix and boiled a lobster and slapped on some mayo. So no go on the lobster roll… ya’ll hear? But try other stuff that I didn’t get to try. Not a bad joint for the area. Maybe I was just expecting a little more then I should have.

This is the first restaurant I have ever walked out of! Walked in and could not find a server or bartender, we were finally seated after about 15 minutes! And mind you, there are about 5 customers total in this place. Our drink orders were promptly taken but after 20 minutes of no return from the server, I proceeded to leave. Worst service of any place!

Great food, friendly service, very warm atmosphere, very local and as result very cozy and touching. You could even dance here: there is live music, not the loud one. A place with a great heart.

I’ve been wanting to try Rosie’s Clam Shack for sometime after finding it on Google Maps. I love seafood, and its relatively close to where I work. Sadly my co-workers are not seafood friendly, so I had to wait for the weekend. My friend and I got there around 2. For a late lunch crowd there were 4 other full tables than ours, although we were the only ones with color in our hair. We took a look at the dilapidated menus and were impressed with the selection. I want to say they have at least 5 types of clams. Again, while there is a varied menu, due to the size and price of certain items, we were only focusing on the lunch menu. My friend got the Crab Cake Sandwich and I went with the Clam Strips Roll and a cup of New England Clam Chowder. For the record I had asked about the Lobster Roll — would have been $ 13 but they didn’t have any lobster at the time of ordering(while waiting for our meal we saw them bring in a tray full of fresh lobster — should have arrived 30 minutes later…). Most importantly: Get the Clam Chowder. I love clam chowder and will order it no matter where I’m at so long as its one the menu(Seriously I’ve ordered it from Hooters, knowing it would be terrible and it was). You know a good clam chowder when you can stick your spoon in and the spoon will slowly move and this was that kind. It also had a nice creamy-buttery flavor. I would go back just for the soup. The Clam Strips roll was decent. The strips were not rubbery, which was good. My friend raved about his crab cake sandwich — saying it had to have been 90% crab meat. The biggest disappointment was the sweet tea, which had too much tea flavor. But we still drank it down in the cup that doubles as a shell cracker, If you love seafood and have no problem eating in a hole in the wall, I recommend Rosie’s.

This place is OK, not great but good. Most of the seafood is fried. The parsley potatoes are good, if a bit on the greasy side. I ordered the crab cakes which were obviously of the pre-fab frozen variety. The fried shrimp are very juicy, I would order those next time. Rosie is always there and she works the crowd like a pro. The air was not working right on our last visit and it was warm in there, which sucked. Banging bar business, which suprised me. I don’t know why, after all this is in Pinellas Park LOL! The sauces(tater, cocktail, etc) are on the table in an empty 6-pack, I thought that was cute.
