This is the kind of place that you want to slow down and enjoy your breakfast. It’s a throwback establishment to the past where everyone knows your name and you get a great made to order breakfast that leaves you satisfied and smiling as you walk out the door. This is the place you seek out on a Sunday morning to sit relax and read a newspaper. A friendly familiar conversation with your waitress’s and take in a fresh cup of coffee. Eggs are eggs, bacon is bacon and Breakfast is breakfast this place takes you back to a time where people cared about other people and you didn’t have to eat frozen pancakes and sausage served in a styrofoam box. This is a real diner. Come relax and enjoy.

I am from out town but every time I’m on the area I Have to go! They have amazing service and food. My favorite is the chicken fried steak and sweet tea. This restaurant is a must.

Love this place. Reminds me of the diners in NY. Great food that’s cheap. The servers are outstanding. We come here so often they even know what we usually order. Heck where else can 3 people eat for $ 25.00 besides a crappy fast food joint.

I used to love Egg Platter but this place has gone down hill! The place is filthy and the customer service is horrible! Only recommend if it’s the only place open and you’ve had a few drinks! Do you guys read the Pinellas County Who is In Jail newspaper? You will likely find your waitress on the cover of that publication! Gross gross gross!

This place holds a lot of memories for me. Every weekend for three years I would head over to the dig and find me some bargains and then I would stop and eat here. All my kids came here. The food was always spot on the waitress knew us. I stopped in recently and my heart was saddened. It’s not like I remember. There were only two waitresses, looks like only one on the grill. Our waitress didn’t seem so attentive, and the other looked like she was mad at the world. This place feels like it’s lost it’s glory and it’s sinking. The food didn’t even taste that great like it used to.

May I have a do-over? I would like to return back to the time before I ate at Egg Platter. Back to a time where I was oblivious and just thought that it looked like a cool place to try one day. Instead, I actually ate at Egg Platter for breakfast, and even brought my entire family from out of town with me. They were not that busy, yet the waitress took about 20 minutes to get around to even taking our order. The cooks rush the food out so fast, that my husband’s sausage was raw inside. It is very difficult to mess up breakfast, but Egg Platter appeared to be experts on messing up everything. My eggs were over medium, yet were completely tasteless. Hashbrowns were also flavorless and appeared to be dry mashed potatoes, quickly reheated. You know, that weird consistency and taste that reheated potatoes get, all grainy and odd. Microwaving a biscuit until it is a brick is a felony in a few states. But, at Egg Platter, it is standard practice. Putting canned pie filling on top of already soggy waffles is a crying shame. If you thought that the evil chain restaurants served low quality food, then try Egg Platter to get a reality check. I support local business, but I just cannot bring myself to eat here ever again.

Egg Platter is the pinnacle of what I would call«America’s southern 24 hour diner.» Every dish from the breakfast smörgåsbord to the dinner delectables is absolutely, breathtakingly, scrumptious. Attend this fine establishment if you wish to experience the finer styles of St. Pete cuisine.

Been here a few times now… Unilocal’s two star rating describes it best: «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» And after our last late night venture here, we probably will not be back. Unless we are super hungry and/or drunk as this place is 24 hours. Food comes out fast. Like scary fast. So fast, even our hungry 10 year old son who usually complains that the food is taking too long made a comment about how fast it was(LOL). Food we have tried is mediocre at best. Their«hash» is weird. It’s like, par mashed potatoes that are grilled on a flat top to get the exterior crunchy. And the inside is mushy with lumps. Pancakes and waffles are ok. Pies and cakes are store-bought, not made in house. Service is good though. Gotta give them that. We received friendly and fast service the times we were there. Prices are cheap. Portions are huge. You get what you pay for though.

Been going there for years when they were in S Tampa. The omelettes are great whichever kind you like, big fan of the dinner menu. Known the family for years and a great place to eat.. .it’s worth the drive to Pinellas Park.

We’ve eaten here twice and loved it both times! Biscuits and gravy to die for. Order came out quick and hot! Waitress perfectly attentive. Well definitely be back!

I’m going to be nice as possible here. This is my first time coming to Egg Platter. I was excited to try a new breakfast place, as I usually go to IHOP. First, don’t order the chocolate milk. It’s obviously chocolate syrup and they charge you 2.45 $ for it. No flavor. Next, my girlfriend and I ordered the Breakfast Pita and the BLT. Both plates were very plain in taste, and even salt and pepper didn’t help the flavor. I guess plain is better than bad, though, and the atmosphere is tacky. There are graffiti type chickens and cows on the wall, which is painted to give off the«wood» look. Last, I saw our server touch many pieces bread with no gloves. I also work in the food service, and that’s against the rules. Sadly I cannot give this place a good review. I was very disappointed and will not return.

More of a trick stop atmosphere than a restaurant. The waitress got my order slightly wrong — not that big a deal– the Pictures of the breakfast on the menu are WAY exaggerated from what was served. For $ 8.50 though it’s a cheap place to eat.

Good, quick, cheap food. We hit Egg Platter all the time for our breakfast fix. For dinner they have one of my favorites that not many restaurants have — beef liver. They also make a pretty good cheese steak sandwich.

Came in late morning last Sunday, the place totally packed and waiting in line. Amazing to watch the friendly waitresses moving around at insane speed and not dropping anything. Not a chance of getting a table, as the owner’s wife motions me to the only seat available at the counter. This seat was wobbling, but about three minutes later a guy walks in and asks me and another guy if we could move down one so he and his dad could sit together. Ham omelet for me, plus coffee that was often refilled. The kitchen assembly line moved fast, so a few minutes later a huge hot omelet with home fries and toast appears. Felt sorry for those hard-working girls, they definitely deserve good tips as they juggled adding up receipts, cleaning tables, greeting and serving. It was nice to see the elderly owner couple right there on the front lines, they speak a foreign tongue that I assume is Greek. Two smiling waitresses behind the counter were so alike I’m sure they’re sisters, maybe related to the owner. The guy sitting next to me coming on to another waitress was a bit annoying, but he was friendly as we made small talk. The place is usually full when passing by, so they know what they’re doing.

I go here one Wednesday a month. I meet with a chapter of friends and hang out with them. We’re all of like minds and when we get here, we have the best service, We have a great time. The food? It’s ok. It’s not stellar, but it is filling. Their omlettes are good, as long as you get the grits with real butter. :)

This place has nasty old food that is not cooked at safe temperatures and has been fined several thousand dollars for food safety violations, and they have a roach problem. And they were also featured on ABC Action News Dirty Dining. They reported violations for food sitting in wrong temperatures. Cooked Potatoes at 54 degrees, sausage at 80 degrees, hash at 97 degrees, and eggs at 57 degrees. Employees not washing their hands. This place should be seriously shut down.

I drove by this place a lot over the past few years. This week I decided to try it. The servers are very friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere. The food was awesome too with very large portions.

Surprisingly, not too many hungry after-club goers make an appearance when you drop by the late hours. You figure with it being 24 hours open… FOOD Denny’s on ‘roids! The menu can read like a phone book – although the pictures are left to be desired, when you’re hungry for this kind of food, you still drool. Salads, breakfast, sandwiches… the portions are very fulfilling albeit dripping in grease and salt. Yet despite that, sometimes the dishes can be rather bland. ATMOSPHERE All patrons there can’t face each other because we all know why we’re there – we have a craving for something unhealthy, cheap, filling, and it’s some strange time of the day. This place has a strange divey charm(with all the chicken paintings) so don’t expect a surgery-room clean, external and internal restaurant. SERVICE The servers all appear friendly towards each other but not so much towards its patrons; but still very brisk and attentive.

Good size menu here with decent prices. I had the omelet with zucchini, broccoli and spinach. It was just ok, not much egg left after all those ingredients. Service was a bit slow on this day. Not sure if this is normal or not since I’ve only been there once.

Why do you go to the Egg Platter? This time of night(2AMish), to lower that darned blood alcohol level. For this task, Egg Platter is superlative. Seriously, a great choice of bfast kindsa things, great service, great prices. Come here and find out for yourself.
