Been thru Pine numerous times and always said«we’re gonna have to stop & eat there sometime». Did it for Fathers Day today. Big mistake ! Apparently some young people were in charge of seating-that wasn’t smooth. After 5 minutes or so, one of the kids took our drink order: coffee and Oj; 5 minutes later the drinks came. Five minutes later, another young man took our order; their breakfast special: corn beef hash & eggs. Over 54 minutes later, we were served. It was not good. Not going back!

We drove up from Payson just to eat at Randall House because we thought it would be a nice treat for a Father’s Day brunch. We were wrong. The boy who seated us wasn’t particularly friendly, and it went downhill from there. We ordered the corned beef hash and eggs special — nothing exotic — and had to wait almost an hour for it. We got no warning that there would be an extra long wait for food, and when we finally said something the server wasn’t the least bit apologetic. He just kept trying to get us to order something else as an appetizer, which came across as «so give us more money». When the food finally came I snapped a screen shot of my husband’s Facebook check-in to show how long it took. The toast was cold, with pats of butter straight from the fridge. Cold butter doesn’t spread on cold toast. My husband had to ask for jelly. The corned beef hash was made with real corned beef, not canned, but there wasn’t much meat to it, just a little scattered through a pile of potatoes. So much for our special treat. We could have gotten comparable or better food with much better service at any number of places without leaving Payson. We won’t be going back to Randall House.

Nice little spot for breakfast and lunch. It’s an old house though so if it’s cold outside, keep your jacket on inside too. Lunch was very good but I would have liked bigger portions for the money. Service was great and overall we were glad we stopped in. Will be back to try more of the menu!

We have eaten there several times but our adult children go there a lot and love it. Food is a cut above your typical breakfast fare. They have specialty coffees also. The menu is not as extensive as some restaurants, but if you like eggs benedict, skillet breakfasts, pancakes, and the like you will love this place. Nice décor – like you are eating at someones home.

This was our second visit and this restaurant just gets it. Everything tastes homemade, cute country cottage, and friendly staff. Definitely worth stopping for!

We love this place. The owner is definitely hands on and everything seems to be made with care. This is the only place we’ve been(other than my kitchen) that has homemade(and perfect, perfect, perfect) pie crust. Grab your pie as soon as you get there because they go fast. I almost always get the veggie quiche with the side salad. I think I could live on this quiche. It is perfect every single time. My husband picks different things but is always happy with his choices. When you go, be sure to try their homemade ginger ale. It is so different and yummy. Stop in. It’s a lovely drive and you’ll be glad you did.

This experience was not great at all and the only reason I’m giving them three stars is because the last time I was here I really enjoyed it. Either they were short staffed or it’s always like this when they are busy, but it took us almost an hour to get our food. There were quite a few tables that were full, but that is just ridiculous. It took almost 10 minutes for the waiter to come over to even take our drink order. At that point we ordered our food as well and then settled in to wait. We had no idea how long it would be! The entire time we waited no one once came by to see how we were doing or if we needed refills. We did have to ask twice how much longer it would take for the food to come and the server looked annoyed. The food was good once it arrived, and thankfully it was piping hot! I think they must have just really gotten behind. I may give them one more try, but steer clear on a busy day!

I really like the hamburgers here. But everything is good here. The people are wonderful and everything is made to order and made from scratch.

Nice little stop in Pine, kinda hidden if you’re not looking for it. Great story and a slice of local history with some«artisan» style food. I had the curry chicken salad sandwich which was very good! Desert looked even better although I passed on this round. Only two things stopping me from a 4 – 5 star is I wish the serving of chicken salad on the sandwich was a bit more and the service was a bit slow — maybe local high school kids working instead of professionals, although they did have a help wanted sign posted. All-in-all I would go back and its worth the stop!

Wow. Shockingly poor service. Super slow took 15 minutes to get our water and coffee. Waitress argumentative and rude. Food ok but the place was down right dirty. Ceiling fans caked in dust right over our heads and jam jars for sale dusty. Lacking in pride of ownership, sad because our food was good. No response from owners speaks volumes.

Great salmon salad. Good coffee. Obviously lots of care and attention to making good food and a good experience. A great surprise in a tiny town.

7÷5÷15 They said the kitchen was backed up but it actually took 65 minutes for a salad and a sandwich. If I had know that it was that backed up I would have driven to Payson and still got my food sooner. They brought the wrong flavor tea, messed up my skimpy curry chicken salad order and the waitress never checked back with us before the food came to give us an update. Then it took so long for them to come back for payment I had to take it inside myself. The turkey reuben was good but they also ran out of soup before noon. Thank goodness the weather at the outside table was nice. Charming but sad.

Like everyone… love the charm and for us it is a nice change from the Early Bird up the road every once in awhile. We have a cabin strawberry so not many food options. I agree the service is just okay… never make me feel very welcome but we think the food is really good and their coffee is the best around(even better than what we can find in Payson). My biggest complaint is really the price. We leave there with two Americanos and two breakfasts and it is almost $ 50 including tip(exaggerating…it’s probably $ 46 so I rounded up). That’s a bit for Sunday morning breakfast so save it as a special treat.

The Randall House is an absolutely charming little place that, clearly due to that charm, continues to draw people despite its staff. Despite one strange experience there after another, we too return, always hoping that maybe this time the service will have improved, the food will be better. Indeed, the food was better the last time we visited: the ingredients notably fresh and flavors pleasing(at least as to the entrees; the desserts are consistently bland). Having visited on several occasions, I can confidently suggest you choose a classic, predictable dish from the menu; the more adventurous plates are not worth the risk. Most notably, unfortunately, is the service(or lack thereof): it is so scathingly unwelcoming that even if the food were to fall directly from heaven and into the Randall House kitchen, it would not go down well by the time it was served to you. Those that have generously granted this establishment four or even five stars admonish those of us who have been less than pleased, saying that this is due to a need for«fast food» and lack of patience, that this is a small town that operates at a slow pace, and that real food takes time to make. The pace, in my experience, has never been the problem; we have taken day trips to Pine specifically for the unhurried atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. And regardless, in my experience, the wait for a table or for our food at the Randall House has not been especially long or out of the ordinary. Nonetheless, we generally leave shaking our heads and asking ourselves: what makes inhospitable people go into the hospitality industry? If only the staff would go out and find work that truly makes them happy and leave this little gem in the hands of people who actually want to welcome and serve; the world(and little Pine, Arizona) would be a better place.

Food is consistently delicious. The service is always good even when they are slammed busy. Sit outside and enjoy the view! I recommend the Yoga Scramble with an Iced Americano! Reading the other reviews complaining about slow service or bad food are ridiculous. The food is always good and it’s an INCREDIBLYSMALLTOWN. Busy weekends you should expect a little wait. You’re not eating at the Four Seasons people. Humble yourself and enjoy the unique beauty that this town and restaurant has to offer.

I have been coming here since 2000. I am a part time resident but I make it a point to stop by and support this restaurant. She makes delicious and healthy selections for the health conscious eaters; even vegetarian dishes are available. The home made desserts and pastries are not too sweet and I could not resist ordering her coconut cream pie for takeout so I can eat it at home while enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds this town. If you are from the valley and are used to fast service and SAD(Standard American Diet) food, you will not like this place as you can read from the other bad reviews. I am fine with the long wait, good things take awhile to prepare. Maybe if less of you haters show up I can get my food quicker, LOL. Just kidding, peace and harmony always!!!

A must stop for breakfast or lunch when in town! Sit in a room in an old house and have a great breakfast. I don’t know how these people on here had bad food? I have been here many times and its always good. Eggs have always been done as I wanted. Eggs Benedict was perfect. Wonderful Hollandaise sauce. I agree the pace in this place is slow. It is suppose to be that way! Enjoy your visit. If you want a quick bite… go somewhere else. If you want to enjoy yourself and the atmosphere… this is the place!

I stopped by Randall House on a motorcycle ride. One of the members called ahead and told them we were coming, so they had tables all ready for us — that was really nice. It took a while for the food, because they were totally swamped with customers. I thought the endless refills of coffee and tea were very nice and the breakfast was very good. I will definitely stop by again on my next ride through Pine.
