Yummy. Being a 50’s fan this was an amazing experience! This reminded me of a Mel’s diner or The diner from Back to the Future. The food was great and reasonably priced. The service was good. I felt like I was in the 1950’s, the décor and the whole restaurant was designed to take you back! Great place!

As much as I love this place, and continue to come back whenever Im in the area, I do have to admit that my experiences here have been mixed. Almost every time Ive been, Ive been greeted, seated, and served by friendly, courteous and happy people who are fast and expedient with the refills, etc. On one occasion, a slightly less than pleasant experience with the server. Almost every time Ive been, the food has been delicious, hot, and served up quick off the grill. One one occasion, not so much. Going for lunch, unless by lunch you mean really late breakfast, is really not advised. This place is all about breakfast, so treat it as such. It seems that by lunchtime, everyone just wants to go home, especially the cooks… Ok so it sounds like Im poo pooing on this place a lot, but youll notice Im still giving it 4 stars… theres a reason for that. MOST of the time, this place is fantastic. MOST of the time, the food is delicious. SOMETIMES, its a decent lunch option. And the whole 50’s vibe thing is really cute and helps to start the day off in a good mood. I really enjoy this place, and come for breakfast whenever Im in town.

Husband and I frequently go to brunch in Phoenix/Scottsdale where we live but no one has better omlettes than this place! The ham and cheese with jalepenos and hash browns… yum!

A bit pricey for a burger, but they tasted great! Loved the fries, also.

French toast, pancakes and hash-browns were excellent! Hot chocolate was really good but not the chocolate milk. Good and fast service with good prices compared to serving sizes. This is the best place to go for breakfast while in Pine.

I have always wanted to stop here. Finally did the other day. Service is good. Food, not good. My friend and I ordered grilled sandwiches. I got the grilled ham and cheese, she got the ruben. Both where soggy and just not good. I got cottage cheese, can’t mess that up. She had fries, again, soggy. Sounds like from the other reviews, that breakfast is more there thing?

The décor is what you would expect from it’s name. We stopped in for lunch and the food was really good. We were pleasantly surprised and would stop in again if we are up that way. I’d really like to try their breakfast that everyone raves about!

I would go here anytime that I head to Fossil Creek or that direction. Worth to stop, have a breakfast or anything. Service is AWESOME. You pay for more than you think. Do ask for a pancake, and it will be enough for the day. I had an egg and cheese sandwich in a muffin, tasty! If you cross Pine, AZ, stop here!

They are best known for their breakfast, but I haven’t been tried it yet but I have had many of their lunch specials which have all been fantastic. Service is friendly and prices are very fair. Try their chili size hamburger :) I think they are open 7 days until 2pm.

Okay, so there are not many places to eat when in Pine/Strawberry. My friend and I went up to my bosses’ cabin for the weekend and hit Nifty Fifty for lunch day 1, and breakfast days 2&3. All I can say is, yummmmmm!!! While the lunch was good, the breakfasts were EXCELLENT! The pancakes are the size of serving trays(I kid you not). We split ONE and were both well fed. They were so light and fluffy, quite unlike the heavy pancakes I am used to. Very possibly the BEST I’ve ever had. Everyone in the place was eating them, too. We also had the french toast, equally awesome … and the home fries were perfect. I HIGHLY recommend breakfast(and lunch) at Nifty Fifty(they are not open for dinner), and I will be stopping there specifically on the way to Winslow next month. One other major perk of Nifty Fifty … their raspberry iced tea. They make it themselves using raspberry syrup, which actually keeps it from being TOO sweet … it is just perfect … we kept getting refills to go(no charge, by the way) … Having said all that, I have to say that the VERY best thing about Nifty Fifty(AND Mama Joe’s in Strawberry, for that matter) is Holly. This girl is a serving machine! She works 17 hour days with a smile on her face and an amazing personality. EVERY meal we had on our trip, Holly was there with great conversation and a phenomenal attitude. She is the proverbial icing on the cake. We love you Holly!!!

In many places this small the small number of eateries available usually leads to inflated prices, average food and service. Not so here. Service friendly, a genuine hello, quick, thoughtful re asking what options you want on the food. Value for money is excellent. I’ve never seen a chain capture this and it makes them all the more special. If it comes down to it, yes I will ride 129 miles for breakfast. My only complaint, and it’s more personal preference than anything they are doing wrong, was the type of fries used, string, but the taste and consistency was excellent e. g not watered down chili, right amount of onions and cheese. Coffee’s good too. That and they have decent hot sauce other than just going with Tabasco. Lastly it’s nice to see 50’s style but with people that don’t look like they came out of the 50’s. If you are every near this place it’s worth your attention.
