Go only if you must. I was a customer here for over 3 years, getting the same compounded prescription medication regularly. Although I got the meds on time, there were frequent annoyances with the staff, who mostly behaved like they were stressed out — unfriendly, unhelpful, curt. For instance I tried to talk to them about the availability of various medications and dosages related to what I was already using(to share this info with my doctor), and, rather than share useful information with me, they kept saying, «That’s for your doctor to decide.» These people could not comprehend that I was trying to obtain useful information to share with my doctor who would then make the decision and prescription that would thereby provide them with more business. Docs aren’t born knowing about compounded medication options. I always felt like the patient/customer was an afterthought at The Compounding Center. There were frequent problems. One time my PCP’s error filling out the Rx led to the staff at this store treating me like I was attempting a fraud. They did not take proper steps to verify the problem with my doc and I had to make a bunch of phone calls to straighten it out. They didn’t fill the Rx and they didn’t even bother to let me know there was a problem with it — they just assumed I was trying to cheat them. They did not apologize for their gaffe until I called and demanded one. They then offered me a free refill, but never actually provided it, which was pretty much the beginning of the end of my relationship with them. Later on, the dispenser for my meds wasn’t working properly. I called them and made a trip in to have them look at the dispenser. An employee told me I didn’t know how to use a pump dispenser properly — WTF. The last straws were that(1) they suddenly raised the cost of the Rx by 30%, and(b) my lab values of the prescribed compounded medication began dropping, and my PCP became concerned about the quality of the compounded medication, and consequently switched me to a name brand.
