We were there about nine on a Saturday night in early January. It wasn’t very busy. The service wasn’t very good. The waiter took my water glass from the table to refill it and didn’t come back for almost ten minutes as an example. Not sure he really knows how to wait a table. Their signature cocktail was so sweet it was hard to finish. The short rib appetizers were bland and very fatty. The vegetable roll was very bland as well. Bad drinks, bad food, bad service. We won’t be going back soon.

Since writing my last review, this location has improved tremendously. Mind you, my last review was directly mostly towards a specific bartender who seemed to not know exactly how to make their signature drinks and lacked in the customer service department. Since then, i have been there a few times, and i can say I’m back to being a regular customer. After writing my last review, I was promptly responded to by the regional manger. They advised that the necessary steps were being taken to ensure my experience would not be experience by others or myself again. Since, I can honestly say the experience has improved drastically. Our server today, Añu, was amazing. We had him a few other times and he is super friendly and makes our drinks perfectly(cute too)! If you ever get a chance to served by him, you will be pleasantly surprised at his level of customer service!

RA ahwatukee is at it again… friends wanted to come here for dinner, I vowed never to return after poor service earlier this year, but when your friends want to go, you deal. We asked for a booth if possible, our hostess walks us around the dining room and we pass an empty booth, it was NOT reserved, it was cleared off, it was wide open… we told her«miss, there is a booth right there.» Her response? «Oh that table is like dirty, it can take 5 to 10 minutes to get it ready» It takes 10 minutes to grab a busser’s towel and wipe the table off? It takes 10 seconds, I used to be a busser in high school. the hostess staff is so lazy and pathetic here it’s a joke. This is what RA has come to, just terrible service and lazy out of touch 18 year olds who don’t understand life outside of their cell phone… Ra, you disappoint.

WHHHHHHY am I a glutton for punishment?! After going to the movies, we thought we’d go enjoy some sushi. RA was the walking distance option. After walking into the loud club-like atmosphere, we chose to sit at the bar for the experience with the Sushi Chef. After watching some children left unattended playing at the sushi bar; a server walked up and asked for our drink order. He then explained that since the Sushi Chef’s get too much attention and«step on our(servers) toes we now order through us».(Typically if you eat at the bar, you order with the Sushi Chef and bypass the server). After ordering three sushi rolls, we sat and tried to have a conversation. The music was so loud and distracting that it took away from the enjoyment that could have occurred. All throughout our meal, we were interrupted by our server chatting it up about his personal preferences while reaching across us for the plates. I’m assuming that the manager didn’t explain to the server how to clean up and not physically put your body on top of the customer repeatedly. Overall, the food was bland and UNDERwhelming, typically priced and will not be tasted again by us. Thanks RA for reminding me that true quality is not something you shoot for.

I have come to this restaurant a couple times and every time I have come, there would be maybe 3 or 4 other people eating. The waiters take their sweet time just to bring me water. Let alone, today I paid my bill in cash and he didn’t bring me my change, so I asked him to and about 10 minutes later, he returned with a couple dollars when I was owed more than that in change. Never coming back again.

They have a good happy hour and some very good rolls. Sake Bomber, Viva Las Vegas Roll and the Crazy Monkey rolls are my staples here. The ambiance is trendy and hip. Bar side is always a bit loud, if you want a conversation, try the resurant side.

We got there at a very busy time but there was no excuse for getting two of our plates to us real fast and or other place which we ask for twice and were told it was getting prepared was never given to us. We decided we didn’t want it because it was a half an hour later and decided to leave. When we got our bill they had charged us twice for something we never even got. Good thing we always check our tab. They took the $ 23 off of the bill and as we were getting ready to go a waiter came up and gave us our food and we declined it. The manager came and gave us a free appetizer card and told us they compensated us on our check but in reality they just took off the food that we never received.

One of my favorite sushi bars. The happy hour is great, the staff is always great. This is the best location in Az. Crazy monkey roll is delicious with mango sauce and cashews. They have a lot of good sushi specials.

Love the Las Vegas roll here and the sushi roll wrapped in cucumber. I don’t remember what it was called, but it was awesome. I like the setup here too. I would recommend coming here on a weekend(evening) though when the sushi is fresh. Their bathrooms are cool and I liked the granite countertops…

The décor is unsavory, the chefs are a joke, the portions are laughable, the food is terrible, It must be hard for people who aren’t use to good sushi and rolls to understand, well it must be easy to fool their clientele. Bored housewives the spoiled teenagers the loud jocks and the obnoxious college students. I also can make terrible food give it to someone starving and call it first class cuisine. But I will not charge you an arm and a leg to eat my disasters. The chefs sneering at customization of anything they make, while management flirts with the younger waitresses and customers what a disgusting display. If your from the coast and your visiting your friends here in the valley and they offer this place up as a choice, politely pass unless you want to have bad visit.

I really love the atmosphere here. Really good spot for groups or first dates! Bar like vibe(there is a bar attached), you also have the option of sitting at a booth, sushi bar, or outside. Whatever tickles your fancy! Food is pretty good, I wouldn’t say the best but this isn’t the kind of sushi place you go to for amazing sushi, it is after all a chain. I really enjoy coming here and love the feel! You can hop on over to the bar next door for a prolonged evening or the opposite side to go see a movie, great location too.

Went in for happy hour after not trying it for several years… HOLY crap what happened to the prices? The sushi was just so so and the prices were high, even on happy hour. We’ll be visiting elsewhere for a sushi fix from now on. boo.

Why did I come here? I was visiting my friends in AZ, and we were trying to decide on a place to eat. I didn’t have much of a preference and wanted to make it easy for my friends who have a 1 yr old. They decided on this place, so I went with it! Next time I’ll speak up and share my Unilocal knowledge… Don’t come here if you want good sushi. This place is mediocre at best. Maybe they don’t have great sushi in AZ given the lack of ports? I am always weary of eating sushi far from the coast. Anyway, I got a rainbow roll and spicy tuna roll. My husband also got some nigiri and dumplings. The nigiri and rainbow roll was just ok. Nothing really amazing in terms of presentation. My rainbow roll wasn’t rolled very tightly and was kind of falling apart. The fish wasn’t the most flavorful. The spicy tuna roll was just bad. It wasn’t real spicy tuna! They just took regular tuna and mixed it with sriracha/mayo…wtf?! I can’t comment on the dumplings as I have to eat gluten free(Celiac). My husband said they weren’t bad. Everything else I mentioned was safe for me to eat. We also went here during happy hour. I felt like the happy hour was just ok… they had a big selection to choose from(drinks and food), but the discount wasn’t that much. I feel like they could have offered more discount or deals. The service was fine, and they have giant booths to accommodate large parties. However, I won’t be back. I also feel like I need to go eat really good sushi now to make up for this bad experience.

This review is for several different visits. Ra is not far from the Boyfriend’s place and I love that they have late night and a good happy hour. Things can be hit or miss here. We previously came here for their 4 items for $ 25 and had nice service and good food. Other times we’ve come and had smelly sushi(ahi tuna should not smell fishy) and my salad had dried up pieces of lettuce in it. Not wilted, so old it was dried up and crispy. Sometimes the staff is knowledgeable, other times they don’t know what type of fish their summer special, Red Seabream, is comparable to. The good has outweighed the bad so this is a 3 star review when it is closer to a 2.5 star review. Other than the email specials/gift cards they send me and the late night menu, I would eat local for sushi.

I visited this venue twice and I loved every bit of it. You cannot go wrong with edamame appetizers and some speciality rolls especially the scallop dynamite rolls. Super delicious. For drinks go with their signature blushing geisha. Not super strong but a good twist at the end !

Date night on a Friday evening we came from CG and I said lets just get off on Ray Rd and eat some where random. Sushi was the pick. The atmosphere was awesome and our waitress Samantha was very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed 2 appetizers a cucumber salad & edamame wontons & Viva Las Vegas Roll & Tootsy Maki Roll a margarita for me and all under $ 50. We definitely will be going on. Sushi was great

Looking for sushi? Ehhh, this place has lots of choices but i think their other food items are better than their sushi. There are other places with much better sushi. Keep in mind this is a bar. Also, pretty spendy, even at happy hour alot of items are half price, but it’s still expensive. Had two drinks, one roll and edamame and my bill was $ 35!

I do love ra. In all of its corporate glory. That being said this isn’t my favorite location… Mesa or Huntington Beach win that battle every time. But the service is always good(once you get sat… we’ve had some lengthy waits at the door when the hostess was MIA) and the food is always delicious. They have changed the menu since I was last in(not that long ago)…new prices on some things(I’m lookin at you happy hour menu) but it’s not enough to turn me away. Love or hate corporate sushi, sometimes you just need a Ra Vegas roll(VIVA!!!)

Asian cuisine franchises… I hate them! My friend use to work here as one of the sushi chefs so I was obligated to stop on by to wish him a successful career. While our buddy took care of us and served us the most beautiful cuts of fish, everything else here is pretty generic. By all means, the fish is delicious and fresh but for the price, what are we really getting here? The portions are on the smaller side considering how much you’re paying. Sure the atmosphere is great and the décor is gorgeous but in the end, you’re just really paying to say you went to RA. Even the servers can be a bit on the snobbish uppidy side. Take your money and support the small local businesses around town! One positive thing I will say about RA is that I do love the Umami Punch. Great cocktail to share with a significant other.
