Stopped by with a few friends for a quick treat after lunch. Place was amazing! So neat and clean, the woman behind the counter was so nice and everything we tried was incredible! Our favorite: the Coffee Dobosh! A must try!

I tried many of their cakes and everything is fantastic! The cakes are light and fluffy like european cakes. And the prices are fair. It’s great!

Just stopped by today! We’ve driven by here dozens of times but never stopped in. Just a few things to make you readers aware of: 1. Dont expect much, but dont let the look fool you. 2. Yes, their shelves appear to be bare, but thats probably lack of foot traffic, they are tucked away in here. 3. They do have macaroons, and theyre amazing. But they are in the back away from view. We ordered 5. 2 coffee, 2 coconut, 1 mango. The coffee ones were very sweet, not much coffee flavor, very light hint of coffee flavor at the end. Not bad. The coconut, less sweet, very faint flavor but I enjoyed this from the coconut one, coconut doesnt really have much flavor to begin with, the cream melted in your mouth. The coconut was my favorite. The mango, not very sweet, you couldnt really taste the mango until the very end. But it was a favorite. They were 1.75 each, and they are kept in the freezer after they are made to keep them fresh. After you purchase them, wait about 10 minutes to eat them. :) Yes, even in the AZ heat. The texture overall was spot on. They were adorable and we will be coming back to try more of the many flavors. Customer sevice was wonderful, which is VERY hard to find. They were polite, friendly, and very fast. They receive 4 stars because I wish the coffee macaroons were stronger in flavor.

Wonderful little bakery. In the end the treats were absolutely delicious! However, It was off putting to walk in and be faced with almost empty cases. There were less than 5 items to choose from. There were 5 or 6 waiting behind me. Sadly, I doubt they would have gotten anything other than a macaroon, which would have been ample because let’s face it. They are awesome!!!

Overall this is a great little bakery. The woman who helped at the counter was very personable. The overall look is a little plain but it’s cute either way. I will agree with some others on here that they could have more of a selection. My advise as well would be to bake your cupcakes in house is team of paying anorher business to use your kitchen… that might help with your selection too. Now as for the taste. I’ve never had french macaroons before and I must say I had the caramel and it was pretty good. Not too sweet, and not hollow like others have mentioned. The summer berry tart was very good too. My daughter had the apple tart she loved it. My bf really liked his eclaire so over all I’d say it’s a win!

I came here for the macarons due to the reviews on Unilocal and the fact that they supposedly have a French chef who makes them. Sadly I ended up being disappointed. The first time I stopped by the French chef was on vacation so they were out of several flavors and only had frozen macarons. Ok fine I decided to try them anyways and promised to return when the chef was back. The macarons were less sweet than I’m used to which is a plus, but I found that the macaron shells were somewhat hollow and empty on the inside. I hoped it was a fluke and went back again when the chef was back and they had all their flavors. The macarons were even worse this time. They still only offered frozen ones and they were very stiff, dry, and difficult to bite into(I did wait for them to defrost). On top of that they had shells that were essentially completely hollow. Maybe the texture would be better if they were fresh rather than frozen but the shells should definitely not have been that hollow, especially if they’re made by a chef who specializes in macarons. The people there are nice and maybe their other pastries are good but it’s hard to say since the display shelves were pretty much empty both times I was there. So disappointed cuz I really wanted to like this place!

I’m sure this place has fantastic pastries and varieties on a normal day, but today wasn’t one of those days unfortunately. I had never tried French Macarons but really wanted to find a place that had great reviews on them… So, naturally I found Napoleon Bakery on Unilocal and decided I’d finally give it a try. I walked in… nothing really spectacular, pretty bare actually but I never judge a place by that stuff, for me it’s all about the goodies. It was very clean and neat though. The girl up front was pleasant and kind so, thumbs up for customer service. I didn’t see any Macarons in the case(those didn’t have much variety, but I figured it was because it was 8:30 in the morning, maybe it was too early). I assumed they were out so I ordered a caramel coffee dobosh(spelling??). The Dobosh was extremely soggy, and the cream had a curdled texture. The caramel on top was so sweet, my jaw clenched shut. My opinion = NOT appealing whatsoever, I took that one bit and threw it out. I asked about Macarons and she said they have them flash frozen in the back but are out of 7 flavors. I said I’ll take a variety of 6. The Macarons were colorful but the smallest little cookies I had ever seen for being almost $ 2.00 each! Total order came out to just under $ 16.00!!! Too expensive, too small, too«frozen» food taste. I was disappointed all day. Not interested in Macarons anymore, and I probably won’t be going back to Napoleon Bakery either unfortunately… No bang for the(expensive) buck.

I have an undying love for French macarons and I have been recently trying to explore AZ to test out the different bakeries. I walked into this bakery around 3PM and there were absolutely no customers in the bakery but I was immediately greeted by a lady who was very nice and helpful. I purchased 5 macarons for $ 10.29. They sell them for $ 1.95 each when you buy more than 1 and then $ 1.90 each when you buy more than 5. The size of the macarons are medium and they package them in little plastic containers for you. They have over 20 flavors which was awesome. I got the flavors: Almond, Caramel, Hazelnut, Pistachio, and Peach. Caramel and Hazelnut were my absolute favorite. The texture of the macarons was perfect and I loved every bite of it. Definitely coming here again!

I have never liked Macaroons. I never got all the hype. The cream was fine but the outside I found gross! I found them gummy and chewy with a weird texture. As I was telling my french friend this today he just looked at me aghast and said, «What are you talking about Mary? They are not gummy or chewy at all. The crème?» No I explained to him I liked the filling but the cookie pastry part was just too chewy. He continued to look at me like I was nuts. «The pastry is suppose to be flaky and moist and puffy/airy but Americans make them different.» he kindly explained. So now it was my turn to look at him like he was nuts. «Go to NB. They are french, Macaroons are good there, and I am a picky Frenchman.» Okay, so how do you turn down an invitation like that? lol So on the way home I did. I stopped by and bought two. A coconut one and a chocolate. The kind lady threw in a free Hazelnut sample. Well, now I understand all the hype. WOW, is all I can say. I added a torte cake that will be demolished tonight and I can’t wait until their new chef starts making food.(soon she said)– Merci!

Im always on the look out for pastry bakeries. I actually was looking for a place that made macaroons and so i Unilocaled and found this local delight. The shop is small and I was expecting more pastries to be out but with the over 20 some flavors of macaroons I couldn’t complain. I tried a good handful of flavors and I was quite impressed. They were very good, soft yet firm(as a macaroon should be) and quite tasty. The red velvet macaroon. I also tried the peach mousse it was so moist and delicious. The bakery is kind of in an obsolete area but if your in the wear valley and feel like some sweets, check it out.

Was not impressed. Place was 80% empty. No bathrooms. Most importantly, there was little flavor in the cake and éclair we had. Tasted better french inspired pastries in phoenix. Pro: the presentation of the pastry was nice and the place was relatively clean but that was it.

I was hosting a Parisian themed bridal shower and was looking for a great place for macarons in the West Valley. This place is right up the road from me and had great reviews. It is in a strip mall and can be hard to miss, but this is a great family owned place! The ladies that work there are very friendly. I ordered 18 macarons of 6 different flavors. They were very reasonably priced($ 1.50/each) compared to other bakeries in the Phoenix Metro area. Unfortunately I was unable to try this delicious pastries due to an allergy, but they were a hit at the shower! I will definitely be back next time I am hosting a shower or party.

Picked up a few things with my check-in coupon. Rum balls and a few other odds and ends, everything was extremely good. The service was excellent, and I look forward to seeing gluten-free options in the future. Oh, fair warning. They don’t hold up well to the heat.(Pro tip: don’t leave rum balls in a hot car in Phoenix while you run errands.)

I expected a lot about this bakery, so I drived long way to there. And frankly — it was not bad, but it was not that nice, either. I went there on Valentine’s day for cakes for me and my husband, and chose a chocolate cake & pineapple cake &2 macarons. I mean — all of them were not bad, but at the same time, not that great. sheet for cakes are smooth and crème was silky and smooth, but I could not find anything SPECIAL. Maybe I expected too much because of so many great reviews. Personally, I think their cakes and macarons are just ordinary ones that can be bought anywhere else.

I came to Phoenix from New Orleans to meet my parents for their birthdays; my parents are also from out of town. I didn’t know where to get a birthday cake, but wanted something better than a grocery store cake. Dobosh cakes and Macaroons are big in NOLA, so I figured that the reviews on Unilocal for this place would lead me in the right direction– THEYDID!!! We ordered a small chocolate Dobosh cake and 4 flavors of macaroons, 5 of each flavor. The owner was very nice and helpful over the phone, he was very easy to work with, and made great suggestions for pairing. The price for 20 macaroons and a small Dobosh cake was about $ 50. You can’t get better than that for a solid birthday desert for five people. Want really well done treats? Get your treats here!

Delicious fresh bakery. Everything is made fresh every morning! It’s fantastically delicious and not overly sweet. Cake is moist and has really good cream. Try to get here early since they go fast! :) He also make wonderful macaroons!

This Swiss bakery has been my go-to spot for cakes and macarons. I first noticed this bakery on Unilocal, and the owner makes everything from scratch with natural ingredients. Foot traffic is rare, and the interior encompasses large glass cases, tiled floor, and colorful chocolates and European pastries to fill out the décor. The quarter sheet Custard Cake($ 29.98) came with soft spongy cake, custard, and airy textures with moderate sweetness. My friends raved about its light-tasting qualities and I really enjoyed it too. The website says the cake can feed 15 – 20 people, but I always have leftovers to share with others. The quarter sheet Tiramisu($ 29.98) came with good moisture and mascarpone flavor, but the consistency of the custard needed to be more refined. The overall flavor was borderline bland, and without rum this cake could use another anchor such as an aromatic coffee to render that special effect. It was a solid cake, but I have had better. I absolutely loved their Macarons($ 1.50). It all started with a crisp airy texture, followed by a soft chew and persistent flagrant ganache at the center. I have tried the Red Velvet, Pistachio, Chocolate Orange, Pumpkin Pie, Almond, Blueberry, and Coconut flavors. They were all striking, memorable, and the fruit flavors were particularly delectable. The textures and flavors on these Macarons were consistent on each of my previous visits. It never fails. Each time the service was forward, efficient, and responsive. I find it helpful to communicate directly with the owner, as he is knowledgeable and always finds ways to meet my expectations. Eventually I’d like to order off the menu and try the Saint Honore Cake, Poppy Seed Bread, and other Macaron flavors.
